Maybe this place is only known for crepes. But I ordered a panini and their soup. My panini was made and left their a while because it came to me cold. The soup luke warm and flavorless. May go back to try a crepe. read more

Very good quality of coffee. Atmosphere and layout of space is not very good, too crammed and non-inviting. When its busy, food takes awhile. Quality of crepes pretty good, 8 out of 10. Value is decent, as crepes aren't too expensive. Selection of food is limited, but the quality is so good, you tend not to notice. Pretty cool that you can watch your crepes being made in front of you. The baristas have always been very friendly and helpful, while the cooks tend to be reserved and suspicious of you. Weird. But overall, it's worth the trip. read more

I went in at 8am for breakfast. I purchased hot tea and then waited and waited while the two behind the counter visited. I finally asked for my tea and got it. While I waited for my friend to arrive I looked around and it soon became clear that the floors had not been cleaned from the day before. I picked up a large red grape and took it to the counter. Underneath the table were lots of large crumbs and what looked like baby cereal pieces. It made me wonder what else they hadn't cleaned. My food arrived in a timely manner and was hot and good. I would hope that the forgotten cleaning was a one time thing. read more

We really like this place. It's just down the street from our house, so we find ourselves there once in a while on the weekends. I wish that there was more seating indoors, but if you can find a spot to perch, it's a cozy, action-packed place to hang out. The service has always been wonderful, very friendly and warm. On my first visit, I tried a bagel with garlic and pesto cream cheese and it was absolutely delicious! We get coffee from there fairly regularly and 9 times out of 10 it's decent. Last time I visited, I had a sweet crepe with hazelnut spread and bananas. Very tasty.. But the coffee had a strange astringency to it that was a real turn-off. Overall, though, we've been pleased with our visits. read more

There's never anywhere to sit. People treat it like it's a cafe and bring their laptops.

For a student looking for a classy atmosphere with good coffee and longer hours, the French Press is perfect! Love the music selection, customer service was fantastic, and it was a lovely place to sit and study on a Saturday evening. I'll be back! read more

French Press - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Salem, Oregon

Favorite breakfast and brunch spot. Amazing, savory crepes and mouthwatering sweet crepes. Plus, great coffee...hot, iced or blended. Get there early because it can get packed. read more

The coffee is great and the crepes are divine. The wait is long, but if you think of great restaurants, the wait usually is. Sometimes the wait is long when the lobby isn't busy, and I am not sure why, but perfection isn't quick :) read more

Food was served pretty quick. But I did see a employee lick her fingers and then continue to make food. Tables were filled with dirty dishes and it took a while for them to be cleaned. The strawberry Nutella crepe was good but caused a upset stomach. Little to no seating on a Sunday afternoon. read more

My favorite breakfast place in town!!! The food, drinks, and desserts are all amazing. I would have breakfast here everyday if I could.

coffee or tea challenge! ordered a (overpriced, $3.25 for 12oz) cold brew. they brought it half full with the actual coffee, and then topped off the second half with water out of the soda nozzle. i don't understand that strategy; cold brew is supposed to be a stronger, smoother version of drip coffee. This was just coffee flavored water. The 2nd star is only because the space itself is kinda cool. read more

French Press - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Salem, Oregon

We tried a sweet and savory crepe (Emilee's love and Chicken club". Service was fast and friendly and the crepes were delicious! Cafe is really cozy. Would definitely return! read more

Pretty good savory crepes and coffee but nothing amazing. Above average for Salem.

Great coffee and food. Can be a bit slow when busy so get there early if you want to eat breakfast and sit at a table.

Since having moved to Portland, I feel a pang of sadness in my heart every time I think of French Press. The food and coffee are exceptional, and I stop there every time I am in town. Order anything at all, you cant go wrong. read more

I stopped in with my stepmom for a cup of cocoa. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere is pleasant. For as full as the place was, it was pleasantly quiet. The employees were polite and served us quickly. I plan on returning multiple times in the near future. read more

So yummy! The crepes are fantastic, I'm usually really picky about my coffee and I haven't had a bad cup of coffee here.

I like their sweet crepes, but their coffee really isn't good. The coffee also takes a really long time to get. I consistently get my crepe before my Chai. The lackluster drinks and service guarantees I won't be back unless I want something close to my house read more

This place is my husband and my favorite date spot, and we don't even live in Salem, we live in Corvallis. Dessert crepes and hot chocolate are our very favorites though the panini's are also delicious. I love the decor and the fireplace. The servers have always been nice to us and we even had a meal comped because of weird credit card issues. read more

Has really gone down hill in the past several months. The service really is REALLY lacking.

I think it would be better if you were a meat eater. I ordered a veggie crepe and had to hunt for the veggies. The sweet crepes look like the way to go. I want to like this place more so probably give it another shot. read more

I'm only writing this review on the drive thru portion. The inside is great! I usually go to Starbucks or Break point coffee for my tea. It's cheap & FAST! Today I decided to go to French press because I thought "Hey let's try something new" I was the only one in the drive thru line & I thought, Great this will take a minute! I had to be at work at 9 sharp. I got there at 8:47 (this is down the road from work) So it took me two minutes to figure out what I wanted & order. I pull up to the window - I don't get greeted or anything!! In fact I waited in line for 5 minutes before she said something to me. Then I waited another 6 minutes to get my 16 oz TEA! This is crazy!!! Please don't have a drive thru for drinks if your going to to take a long time & make ppl late for work! I went back to my office & told them why I was a little late for our meeting & they told me every time they go there it's always a long wait as well! Lesson learned! Stick to a coffee place where they know you & don't take long! read more

Love their coffee and crepes! Fun Paris city themed place inside :) they have a drive thru as well as sitting inside!! The sitting inside experience is better with huge mugs for your coffee and wonderfully made crepes. Emilee's Love is a great crepe and has Nutella in it. You can either have your bananas fresh or flambéed. But you have to ask of you want them fresh! Yummy read more

Yummy savory and sweet crepes. The most delish French press that will keep you going all day! read more

Love the chorizo crape so good! I would recommend this place to anyone. Friendly safe and great food. Love just calling in my order and driving thru to pick it up. It's always ready when I get there! read more

We came in for sweet crepes right at noon on a Sunday. The place was packed and we had to wait to get a table. We eventually got the Emile's Love crepe which was great especially if you like Nutella, and also the Carmel Apple which had some tart apples and sweet Carmel. The only reason I didn't give it more stars was that we had to wait so long to get seats and how cramped the seating was, but we did get seats next to the fireplace which was great. read more

At first glance, it seemed like a generic coffee shop. After, a family member raved about the crepes, I just had to try it. The coffee is pretty good, but the crepes are where it's at. The berry one is my favorite, but I've heard good things about the savory options as well! read more

When I lived in Salem, the French Press became my first stop on my way to work each day. Since moving from Salem 8 years ago, any time I am in Salem, I try to stop in and savor my favorite coffee. However, something must have changed. I have not been back for a while, but my coffee on Saturday was dreadful. No flavor, tasted burnt and horrible. I am so disappointed and won't be back. I wonder if they have a new owner or manager. Anyhow, very disappointing. read more

We went there after church yesterday. Found it a delightful place to eat. The crepes are fantastic! We'll come back and try the frittata on a bagel. read more

The best tea latte and crepes ever! Ambiance is nice too. Yes it can be busy- proof that the place is awesome! Viva la France!

Really like going here. Good crepes. I did order a mocha once--didn't like it much, but I still like this place. I want to buy coffee beans from them sometime, because once we bought some as a Christmas gift for a relative, and on our way to their house, the wonderful smell of the beans escaped from the trunk and into the car--so good. It was like we couldn't contain the aroma. So that's why I wanna try it myself. read more

Went in with a friend, while ordering coffee we thought we'd use the restroom, in the ladies room there was no light and no toilet paper, I mentioned this to the staff and was told to use the men's room. Won't be back read more

I had the mixed berry crepes and my wife had a bagel with smoked salmon. Everything was delicious, the whipped cream was perfect and the French press of coffee was spot-on. Really enjoyed it. read more

It did have good food and coffee but that's about all that goes for it after that. Although I do understand that I went to the establishment while it was quite busy but it was definitely disappointing after waiting for more than half an hour for my food to go was just the start of it as people before us were being served left and right like the up left us. Even when my food showed up the appearance was terrible have of my sandwich was sliding off and I could tell it wasn't supposed too be like that as it was penne. As well as it was so small it wasn't even worth half of what I paid for it. So it was my up most disapproval of so to anyone who wants to even think about this place think again read more

For a place that specializes in French press and crepes, their coffee and crepes weren't great. I did get comped an extra vegetable choice in my crepe because I asked for no cheese, so that was cool! The service was decent for how busy they were, but the French press for 1 and the loaded breakfast crepe were unremarkable. I probably wouldn't come back. read more

This place has very good coffee and when it is not super busy it is a relaxing fun environment. They also make amazing crapes!

I highly recommend this place to meet up and talk to a friend or go out for lunch. When I go here I normally get the chicken club and it's delicious. The size of the crepes are so worth the value. Coming back soon read more

Great coffee and good food, but SHAME, SHAME today for making us wait nearly 15 minutes in the loading zone for 2 bagels that had clearly been waiting quite awhile before we came into the restaurant to see what was holding up our food order. "Sorry about that, we're really busy today" is not an acceptable excuse. PLEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER if you are going to promise to the public and be responsible for delivering on your promise. read more

The wife and I discovered this coffee when we moved to town. The employees are nice, the coffee & tea is good and there is free Wi-Fi. In the winter time they have a fireplace going which adds to the ambiance and makes feel more relaxing. I find it a good place to unwind after work. read more

The loaded breakfast crepe is by far my favorite. Sometimes, I go there for dinner to get one as well. But the strawberry crepes are SO GOOD as well. My husband and I will sometimes go there just for coffee. The medium house blend is our favorite. They also have a wonderful tea selection. I love the atmosphere and am always excited when the table right by the fireplace is available. The price is reasonable. During the summer, they open up their patio. I love sitting out there with my husband, sipping some coffee and having a yummy crepe. BEST Saturday mornings. read more
