In fairness to them, English speaking bakeries do it too but in English. The staff speak some English making it a bit difficult to find out what it is or if you have allergies whether or not to avoid it. The staff is friendly. The prices are standard bakery prices. I had the conejo and Berlin crema which are the exact same thing but different presentation. I had the erizo which you need a fork to eat. I did not know that and it is like trying to eat chocolate cake with your hands (if you did not get the fork). The most memorable part was a male staffer that really did not want to work and wanted everyone to know it. He spent his time kissing his girlfriend, talking to her, and letting her touch his chest. I know he worked there because he went behind the counter when they were done but she stayed to talk to him over the counter.

That says far more about how criticism is handled than it does about me. I've read the reviews, and it's clear I'm far from the only long time customer who has had issues with the customer service. The food has never been my complaint, that's why I kept coming back for years. The service is what earns the low rating. As for the Apple Pay issue, there was no sign visible at the register where I was standing. After the cashier made such a scene, I intentionally looked around and only then noticed a handwritten sign in front of the other register, blocked by the family standing there. Meanwhile, the payment terminal itself prompted me to use Apple Pay, so naturally I assumed it was accepted. My issue was never that Apple Pay wasn't accepted. Businesses are free to choose whatever payment methods they want. My issue was being loudly scolded in front of other customers over what was clearly an honest mistake. A simple, "I'm sorry, our terminal still displays that option, but we don't accept Apple Pay. I'll refund it for you," would have resolved the situation in 30 seconds. You mentioned I should have spoken to the manager, but the cashier told me she was speaking to the manager and was on the phone with them regarding this "big issue" I created. What stands out most is that, rather than acknowledging how the situation could have been handled better, you chose to attack the customer who left feedback. Accountability goes a long way in customer service. After supporting this bakery since it opened, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I'm on a latte tour of the area and have been trying lattes from all of the coffee house I can find. Booskerdoo has fresh pastries, snacks, food, drinks, etc. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and space to work from inside, as well. If I worked remotely, this would definitely be a place I'd go to during the day. I went during lunch time; there were other patrons there, but it was relatively quiet.
