Doc Shroyer was the best! He was my vet for about 35 years...but he RETIRED! So happy for him but…read moreit is sad for us and his old staff. Where are you Monica and Sue?! I was happy when the new vets kept our familiar girls on but now they are gone. I tried to get my dog in today for her glands to be emptied and there are no appts. That has never happened to me before at this office.

I had visited another area vet last year based upon recommendations of persons I trusted but was just not happy at all with the experience and definitely did not want to return. I saw that Dr Schroyer had ONLY 5-star reviews and his office, while not in our immediate area, was fairly conveniently located to us. When I called I immediately had a pleasant experience with the person answering the phone. She was able to fit us in the next day. When we arrived at the office, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We found Dr Schroyer to be calm, confident, knowledgeable and personable. He listened to and was willing to answer all of our questions without being condescending and even looked at our other dog so he would have a familiarity with her and a record if we returned. We left the office feeling very comfortable about our dog's issue and certain that not only would we return, but that this would become our primary veterinarian's office. So..... yet another 5 star review!!

I've been to ravenswood in the past with my animals…read more Recently, there was a poisoning event in my neighborhood that led me to bring two very sick cats to ravenswood. Dr. Low was very empathetic and supported us in the best way she could. We could not save these animals and it broke my heart. A few days later I noticed one of my own cats had begun to act out of her character and I brought her to ravenswood believing that I was ahead of whatever illness she was experiencing. My cats initial assessment revealed she was vitally stable, but after Dr. Triplet reviewed her bloodwork she shared that my cat was in catastrophic kidney failure-- and stated she was going to be very honest and recommended euthanasia, believing that even very expensive hospitalization would not be enough to save my cat. This was shocking and horrific as it had not even crossed my mind as being an option. And I suddenly had to agree to a decision that I could not mentally or emotionally process. Having been traumatized by what happened in the days before I couldn't understand how the cat burrowing into my arms for safety was so sick that she believed this was the only compassionate option. I struggle to this day wondering if I did the right thing. They offered given the traumatic and tragic circumstances to cover the euthanasia and though I couldn't understand what was happening or how this could be I felt I was left with no options. A part of me died that day with my cat. A moment of life I'll never forget andI sometimes wonder if the compartmentalization abilities with emotions by Dr. Triplett made her dismiss how difficult this was. I called immediately after my cat was euthanized and paid for private cremation, with an employee asking me for all of my wishes for this memorial, and Dr Triplett assured me everything was in order for me to receive my cats remains following her sudden and traumatic euthanasia. Two weeks later I called ravenswood after no response and learned at that time that they had misappropriated my cats remains and that I would not receive her ashes back, her fur clippings, her paw prints, or anything of the sort as she had been cremated in a communal setting and her ashes wouldn't be able to be identified. After my cat had been placed in the refrigeration with other animals, no one went to be sure she was marked as private cremation. This negligence led to irreversible mistake that left me unable to mourn or grieve my beloved family member and denied me the opportunity to "bring her home" which tore me apart as driving to the vet that day I believed with my whole heart she was coming home alive, now never coming home even with her ashes. The negligence by the staff and Dr.Triplett that day has caused irreversible trauma and left my mind to wonder if the same negligence after her passing denied her the opportunity to truly be seen as a valued patient, and if the recommendation itself was also from a place of negligence. Ravenswood ordered a remembrance stone for my animal. It it not the same as bringing your family member home to rest. I thought for a long time whether or not to share this, but the irreversible trauma of that day I feel needed to be shared, and I hope in the future ravenswood will employ a practice to triple check their actions so another family does not suffer from the same fate as I and my beloved cat. As a protector I feel I failed her by bringing her to ravenswood. An irreversible decision I will have to live with for the rest of my life.
