But I was pleasantly surprised with how great a place it really was once I got there. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, even though I was a little late for my appointment. I met Dr Bryson and I was immediately at ease. She listened to everything I had to say and answered all my questions; she didn't talk over me or cut me off and I immediately felt a good connection with her and how much she cares about animals. Surgery went great and she called me herself when it was done. She even clipped my bunny's nails free of charge! We took her several days later to another vet who was SHOCKED that they didn't give her an injection of Benadryl and Steroid BEFORE the aspiration. We got her stablizied for several weeks, but on 7/13, she got really sick and we had to put her to sleep. THIS VET IS THE WORST VET I'VE BEEN TO IN 50 YEARS! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS VET! Well, it is a distance to go to Ormond Beach, but I should of gone to him in the first place. With careful diagnosis and the lab work done properly, he prescribed medication for Blackier's condition. The lab work done was done prior with another vet, and it was totally incorrect, and Blackie was put on so many medications over a years time, and costing unnecessary money, frustration to me, and introducing medication which was not needed. Dr.Long, also treated another dog of mine who had gotten hit by a car after she dug out of a friends yard. I cannot tell you that when I went to a Vet. in Palm Coast, they said it would cost $3,500.00 to repair Puppers tibia. Well I had to leave as I do live on Social Security, and was in such despair, however coming back home and riding down route Nova Road, saw this sign, Vetinary Hospital and asked my friend the driver to pull in. Crying and so upset with the dog, Pupper in my arms, Dr. Long was there, checked out my dog, and charged me a fee that I immediately accepted, due to my income. Dr. Long is a hero, and great man and has the greatest veterinary hospital and staff in this county. The tibia was titanium, and funny I have a titanium whole hip replacement and femur . I am still a Licensed Practical Nurse and cannot of gotten over perhaps putting her down, and was spared the excessive cost from the office of another Vet, as mentioned, and Pupper even ran faster after recovery then before her injury. I am prompted to write as I was at wits end with my dogs skin problem, and it is my way of telling all who may read about the knowledge , kindness, and performance of Dr. Long and his staff. When we arrived at the office, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We found Dr Schroyer to be calm, confident, knowledgeable and personable. He listened to and was willing to answer all of our questions without being condescending and even looked at our other dog so he would have a familiarity with her and a record if we returned. We left the office feeling very comfortable about our dog's issue and certain that not only would we return, but that this would become our primary veterinarian's office. Feed tube and meds all new to me! He is now healthy, happy 3 year old. My older Teddy had his eye badly scratched and almost lost it. Dr Anderson and Dr Elders had a new tool (Lazer?) and saved the sight. All pet owners should remember no matter how knowledgeable they are, not all procedures are successful. This Clinic has many Drs and latest equipment. It is not the least expensive. It is excellent.

We have been going to Ravenwood with our very complicated, crazy ginger cat for almost 6 years…read more (Since he was a kitten) he has had pancreatitis twice and has an auto immune disorder that drops his white cells. All of the vets there are absolutely amazing. They always have him on the road to recovery pretty fast. We have to go about 3/4 times a year for critical illness. They always have his best interest and health as top priority, so traveling an hour there is never a problem for us. The regular vet in our area highly recommends them for specialty/critical care.
