Stopped in while passing through town and had a Wop Chop sandwich, which came with homemade fries. Everything tasted very good and the service was friendly. Total bill for 2 sandwiches and sodas was like $13.50. We will definitely stop again the next time we are in the area. read more

Stopped in Butte a few weeks ago for a Wop Chop. Great idea for a sammich...but, too dry. It really needs a nice, special sauce for it. Not sure what is great with pork, but need some cool sauce instead of just mustard or ketchup. And, toast the buns! This could be a great sandwich, but it's just average. read more

With all the great reviews, and the fact the restaurant was on Man Vs Food, I was excited to try this famously talked about wop chop. However, I was disappointed with both the sandwich and the fries. The sandwich lacked in flavor and was even burnt. I didn't even bother finishing the fries because they were soaked in grease and were not appetizing whatsoever. This is not a place I would go back to. I gave it three stars in light of how many people like the restaurant. I will say that the service is friendly and the prices are very cheap. I would only recommend this place to someone who simple wants a cheap meal. read more

We had wop-chops to go. They were great. The pork chop was thick and cooked perfectly. A perfect and filling sandwich to eat on the road.

Small, bar atmosphere. The fried chicken was hot and good. The "wow chop" or battered and fried pork chop was hot and just the right amount of greasy. And $ definitely made it worth the stop. read more

It's a dive bar, that happens to serve a wonderful sandwich consisting of a breaded pork and condiments ironically named the "wop chop", which is a Butte local favorite. Once, John's Pork Chop was the home of a similar sandwich, a stable of my youth and college days. Alas, John's quality slipped, but fortunately the Freeway started making the wop chop. read more

Came by to try the legendary wop chop. It was tasty, as was were the house cut fries. It's the combo of pork, pickles and onion on a bun that make this great. I was wishing that I'd shared that rather than order the HUGE platter of fried gizzards: again tasty but needed a dose of zip. We were driving from the Glacier Park area to Yellowstone and hunger hit. As always I turned to Yelp, but this time I was disappointed. The "legendary" Wop Chop is decently tender and reasonably tasty, but overwhelmed by greasy batter coating. The staff was nice and the beer was cold, but there's nothing special about this place or the Butte fried pork chop tradition. Sorry, look for a good burger or Bbq. read more

A true Butte classic. It is full of great drinks, characters and Butte history. I remember coming here with my Dad as a child and enjoying the $8.00 9oz steaks with jojos and don't forget the amazing Wop Chop. A must stop if your in the area. read more

Used to come here 50 years ago after my father's softball games. Even though they were the opposing team the family friendly environment and food always won. The absolute best porkchop sandwich in town. The "wop chop' real tenderloin and juicy. I love it. Great chicken and other food too. Still a friendly staff and always like coming home. read more

Often was a good porkchop sandwich, I stop by the 10 times a year I'm in Butte. Today was another off day though, and our last. We bought 3 porkchop sandwiches to go and all were undercooked with just tough onion rinds instead of nice onion slices. Honestly, couldn't bite through them. I wish the cook took a little pride you know? Lucky day for the pooch! Lots of good food in Butte, but I think Wopchop has seen its best days. read more

We recently visited, based on the recommendation of a local. Definitely gave off the dive vibe, but came highly recommended. We went in, assailed by the scent of fried food, and took a seat at the bar. The place was about a third full. Well, we sat and sat. Wait staff walked in front of us repeatedly, deliberately not making eye contact and never speaking. We also could not seem to attract their attention. Finally, we gave up and left. We will never go back. I have no idea what element of local etiquette we violated to garner such rude behavior, but my family is from the area and I have spent many summers there, so really cannot fathom the rudeness. read more
