This is the best pork chop in Butte American. It is little known and does not advertise. The wop chop is a good tenderloin with breading that is better than its rivals. The bun is normal. I'd recommend you head down to the Freeway for a wop chop (or go to Nancy's for a Pasty) if you're in town and want some Butte fare. Don't expect frills here. It may not sound appetizing but it's sinfully delish!! Restaurant~ Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is tiny ~ a hole in the wall. They don't take credit cards, so bring some cash-o-la! You would think that a business that is plugging themselves as being Covid-19 aware and taking all precautions to battle the pandemic, would learn to operate a computer and correctly fulfill an order. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. Even though the mistake was on their end because of computer illiteracy, I was instructed to either contact the third party delivery service or drive there and pick up the rest of my missing order! We will never be ordering from there ever again and really believe that customer service training is much needed at that business. We've heard about the others as well, but by the time we were able to get to food after high school sports, this place was still open, took our order over the phone and had it ready. Super hot, super good and a unique experience. I believe it's called a WAP Chop, but man was it good. The JoJo's are the way to go with it. Will most likely make this a place to return to in the future, when passing through Butte, America. read more

It's a dive bar. That's what it is. But thanks to Adam Richman, it's the place I want to drive through Butte, Montana again for. If you don't know, they have a sandwich called the "Wop Chop". What it is is a battered/fried pork sandwich. We don't know what they use in the batter, but it's addictive like CRACK. Service is delightful. I think the cost is $5.25 or $5.75 for one. Me and my (then) fiancee (now wife) were driving through and grabbed one. SHOULD HAVE GRABBED TWO (or more). Remember, it's a tiny little dive bar, so if you want to try it make sure you remember that's what it looks like and that you don't let the exterior make you think twice. Stopped for a Wop Chop on our way home from Missoula today. I would never stop at a joint like this, but by passenger knew the drill. The pork chop sandwich and fries was $5.75. The place was packed with all 8 booths full and the counter full of working folks getting lunch. The waitress took our order, to go, and it was cooked up and in a paper sack in about 6-7 minutes. Don't expect any frills here, but quick efficient service, great prices and people are here to get their grubb. Looking forward to my next trip West on I-90, make sure you stop at Montana Street Exit, its rights there. read more

Recommended by the front desk clerk of my hotel. I always go with a recommendation from a local. I pulled into the parking lot and was a tad skeptical. But the parking lot was packed so that was a good sign. I opened the door to a wonderful and warm greeting. We arrived on a Saturday soon after they opened. There were two other customers. We sat for 5-8 minutes and two other guys came in and we all sat for another 7 minutes or so. Finally the bartender came out. She took our order and served the other guys first. Took about 5 more minutes to get a shot we ordered. We only had one. My food order was not correct (ordered jo jos but got fries) and the onion slice was dried up. They only take cash and local checks, FYI. My partner's Wop Chop was good and my burger was fine, nothing special. Decent food, poor service. read more

Muzz and Stan's is a Butte institution. And for good reason. Opened in 1962, it's probably always been of dive bar status. Small, intimate. Awesome people watching. The thing to do is sit at the bar, order a wop chop (yes it's an ethnic slur but it's what it's called here and to my extensive knowledge, there's no complaining). So personally im not a fan of the natural cut greasy fries. They get soggy fast and just not good for me. But after spending some time in Butte I finally started ordering there famous fried pork chop sandwiches and this is the place to get it. Trust me when the locals go out for a fried pork chop its the freeway. I've had a couple friends over the years tell me about the "wop chop" sandwich from this tavern so being in butte of course I had to go try it out! I was NOT disappointed either, if I lived in butte this would definitely be my place to go for cheap comfort food after i night of drinking and to watch some football. The wop chop with added spicy mustard that the server recommended was an awesome choice. I was told that this was evil knievals food of choice back when he lived in butte. We were in town visiting from Seattle and when we asked a local where to eat they said go to the freeway tavern and get the wop chop. So we went in and all four of us sat at the bar, ordered some rainier beers, then ordered the famous wop chop. The presentation was ok and the service was good. The sandwich itself was just a slab of pork deep fried. Didn't get much flavor out of the pork but with the help of condiments it made for an alright sandwich. The service made for a nice visit and I would recommend this place to someone who's passing through. read more
