True rating 4.5 Great food! They serve breakfast all day. I had two eggs over medium, ham, hashbrowns, and biscuits with gravy. The hashbrowns were excellent - tender and moist inside, buttery and crispy outside. The gravy had huge chunks of sausage in it and was delicious. The ham was good, but not great. It is a thick cut ham steak, but average quality. My husband ordered the Freeway Sampler which is like the Breakfast Sampler at IHOP. He had scrambled eggs which were perfectly cooked, fluffy and moist. The bacon was average, but the link sausage was tasty. The pancake syrup isn't maple, but corn syrup based and too sweet. They were slammed when we got there, so we sat at the counter. The staff is friendly, but the atmosphere was very chaotic. The kitchen was pushing food out, but they kept the waitresses in the weeds due to incomplete orders. Sitting at the counter you get a good look at all of the food. The chicken fried steak looks amazing! Definitely ordering that next time. read more

The place was clean and friendly, but I wouldn't order the turkey and dressing. It was the worst meal I've had in a while. Cold dressing with a gross flavor, a big pile of dark meat turkey scraps with hard giblet pieces all mixed in, and some bland mashed potatoes all covered in some kind of yellow greasy sauce. Found out about the restaurant through Yelp* while visiting Tulsa. It was close to our hotel and almost surrounded by other national chains one can get breakfast at, but seek out this one. There is a reason it has 4 stars. Unlike most places who serve breakfast, lunch and dinner this restaurant didn't feel tired, dated or dirty. The decor is a bit like a diner with a pastry counter, model car displays, country music plays over the intercom at a decent level. The staff worked liked a team both on the floor and in the kitchen. Sorry, I can't tell you how the coffee was as I'm not a coffee drinker, but the iced tea was a bit weak for me, but my personal preference is stronger. I ordered french toast and was happy that it came plain, no powdered sugar. I also ordered a side of bacon which came 3 to the order and was not quite thick sliced, but not the usual skinny strips one tends to get at national chains. I can't remember what hubby ordered, but it had 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns, might of also had sausage, I didn't really pay attention once I got my plate. He ordered his eggs over easy and they were cooked perfectly. That is usually something he has a hard time getting right in a restaurant. Open nice and early in the morning. We had breakfast at the counter and had friendly interactions with Ayla and the other waitress as well as the cook. The food omelette was great and plentiful, the pork chops were enough to serve two. As we were finishing, the brought out the fresh, made from scratch cinnamon rolls. The Best Chicken Fried steak breakfast I've ever had. The size of it is so big it comes on its own plate. Also the hash browns are so large they have to put the eggs on it. My husband and I always enjoy this restaurant. Lisa was our waitress and as always the service was awesome. While we were sitting their finishing up our meal. I witnessed the one of the greatest amount of kindness that I have ever seen . Kristen another waitress was helping another customer that was needing assistance helping placing his order she took his order she sat down with gentlemen went over the menu. Witnessed this was just I was in awe. Kristen went the extra mile to this gentle man. Way to go Freeway cafe, I do not who hiring there but you do a really great job! Stopped here by chance on our way through town... it's right off the freeway... this place is wonderful! Very clean, love the decor, and best of all my omelette was extremely good! Great location right off the expressway if you are driving through and want a bite to eat. Friendly service, bright and clean. Seemed like they had a regular clientele as well as truckers who always know the good spots. We only wanted a grilled cheese and cup of soup but they were both homemade and hit the spot. I ordered the chicken and dumplings, looked like they put about an ounce of shredded canned chicken in the bowl with a bunch of dumplings in a yellow sauce (should have took a pick but this is my first post). Nice enough place staff was friendly except for when they asked how it was at the register and I told them there was not much chicken in the dumplings, lady taking my money said to someone did you hear that and the guy said I dont what I can do hes been making it that way for 20 years, odd comment. Driving through Tulsa, we googled "vegan restaurants near me" and freeway café came up. Ordered the Vegetable Plate which was any 4 sides. I ordered baked potato, tabouli salad, pinto beans, and side salad. Split the potato and poured tabouli over one half and pinto beans over other half. They also had green beans, corn and fried veggies. The plate came with a huge, soft, oven fresh dinner roll that was delicious! Very filling meal. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. $6.99! Stopped in for a late (10am) breakfast with my wife. We both had eggs over easy, biscuits, and I added sausage patties and gravy, wife had grits. A very good diner breakfast. Highlight of the meal was the cinnamon roll, which my wife wanted and we ended up sharing because it was huge, and even though I have never before liked a bakery cinnamon roll, I recommend it......plenty of cinnamon, with a little cinnamon glaze. Quick, friendly attentive service Downside was the coffee, which was weak as water.....we both had one refill, hoping the first pot was a mistake, but ended up not drinking it because it was also too weak to recognize as coffee. 4 stars for the food, price and service, one star for the coffee. Don't understand how a place that serves breakfast all day can be so stingy with the coffee grounds in the brewpot, if they fix that, this place would definitely be a winner. read more

Well all the reviews are real. My friend and me beyond enjoyed the meal. He had steak and eggs I ate Oklahoma omelet. Ohhh so good. With gravy biscuits mmmmm, yea definitely a delicious place to eat. This is not a good restaurant to dine in.I was reading the reviews deciding on which restaurant to eat from so this one had some high number on rates.My husband and I ate breakfast from there this morning what a disappointing experience I order a steak and scrambled eggs (well done) steak the first time they brought my meal to me the steak was barely cooked raw (bloody) they put it back on the grill for the second time they brought it back to me I checked it it still was raw I sent it back they put it back on the grilled for the third time finally got it almost right I just got tired of sending it back while my other food sitting up getting cold.They had a customer sitting next to me complaining about his food he had to send his half cooked food back several of times it pisted his waitress off so bad she decided to call the police on him behind his back so they escorted him out of there.The staff claimed he done this three times now my husband asked the staff why do they keep letting this man back in the restaurant the staff stated that they can't refuse the customer .I still think that all of this could've been handled better than this i don't know maybe because the color of his skin (black) maybe if he was a different race would he have been treated differently. I've been a total of 5 times and continue to be disappointed. The food here is great, the price isn't bad but the service I have experienced is terrible. We had a waitress who didn't know what Eggs Benedict was, even though it was the Mother's Day special. She couldn't pronounce the name, she didn't know what we were talking about until we pointed to the menu board and showed her. She just giggled & said it was a weird name. On two different occasions they ran out of the 'soup of the day' and brought us the next soup they made without telling us. So I have decided to only do take out with them. Last night I called in my order & a woman with an accent started to take my order, while I was in mid sentence she says "hold -on, here you take this" and then a man says "hello?" I told him that I was in the middle of placing an order & he proceeded to finish the order. When it came time to pick it up, they had forgotten the biscuits that went with my biscuits and gravy, they forgot a soup and to top it off the soup was different than what we ordered. When I went back he said they ran out of the soup I wanted & replaced it with broccoli soup. It's very frustrating because I do enjoy their food, their prices, and their location but I'm about done giving them business. I mentioned this to a couple of people who have had similar stories about the service. Again food and price is great! read more
