Be sure to check out the specials on the white board as they change daily. Sometimes they serve rack of lamb which I will try someday. The full menu is served all day. I recommend the turkey and dressing dinner. It's like Thanksgiving every time I order it. In fact, it's better than what I had on Thanksgiving. I usually order it when I don't know what I want to eat. The turkey is moist and tender, the dressing is flavorful and the mashed potatoes and gravy complete this plate. It also comes with a roll, a side and soup or salad. The onion rings are sliced thin, battered light, hot, greasy and good. If you want fried chicken pieces, order the broiled chicken. It takes 15 minutes to cook your chicken but it comes out moist and tender. If you order fried chicken on the menu, you will get chicken strips so be sure to ask to avoid confusion. Kinda far out there on Sheridan in the east side of Tulsa. Two main rooms and a counter,lots of interesting metal car models in wood/glass cases and Elvis/Route 66 memorabilia throughout.Big blackboard with other comfort foods like roast beef, meatloaf, pork chops, etc. Got the Chicken Friend Steak and eggs and was very good, almost as fine as Nelson's but close. Still it was perfectly cooked,hand breaded,not greasy,crispy outside and tender meat inside.GOOD white gravy too. Another winner! This restaurant has yet to have a bad service. It is always packed as soon as it opens until it closes. We love their eggs and bacon. They are to die for. Seriously. You haven't had eggs and bacon until you've eaten here. I also love their Belgian waffle. It is huge and I can never finish it. The food is ok. Diner quality food. The service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress checked on us to get our order, brought back the food, I asked for a steak knife for my steak and never received it. I had dinner rolls that came with my meal, I got it a full 15 minutes after I got the rest of my food. My drink sat empty for 10 minutes. I had to wave down another waitress to get a to go box. My husband ordered the theta burger with jalapeños and an extra patty. It didn't come with an extra patty (although we were charged $4.50 for it) and she brought the jalapeños almost 10 minutes after she brought the burger. It wasn't necessarily busy when we were there. There were about 7 other tables with 2-4 people. The service was just absolutely horrendous. read more

We have enjoyed this place lots of times through the years. Way longer than Yelp has been around. We went this past weekend for a birthday breakfast for my 26 year old. The food was pretty good. Our server was hussling but seemed a little over taxed and it took a big of time to get our order placed, but that girl was ahookin it let me tell you. They have some daily classics, I enjoy the turkey and dressing I even had it for breakfast. The tortilla soup is the bomb, chicken cry steak also the bomb. NEVER NEVER AGAIN. My husband and I along with my my parents visited the 4th and Sheridan location and received HORRIBLE SERVICE. We sat at the table 5 minutes before getting menus, finally got menus and water/coffee another 10 minutes to order. Our waitress had an extremely nasty attitude , I had to ask for coffee and water refills. My mom asked for a sprite, lemons and extra napkins.... Never received them. My husband asked a manager about our order. He went to check on it, 5 minutes later no manager, no food. We decided to leave and pay for our appetizer and coffee. As we were leaving, the manager comes out and says our food is Almost ready. He never came back to our table to let us know. Instead of apologizing and letting us pay for our food , he became confrontational and got loud with us. The waitress snatched the credit card out of my husband's hand!! I told he she was rude for snatching the card from my husband's hand and the she BUCKED UP AT ME as if she was ready to fight, the manage sent her to the back. The manager accused us of causing a scene, that's why we we're leaving so there wasn't a scene the manager and waitress created the scene with POOR SERVICE, POOR MANAGEMENT, POOR COMMUNICATION. read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning ,normally food is good there and I live about 6 blocks away. The busboy seated me brought me coffee and water and a menu and said someone would take my order shortly. I drank all the coffee and water in 25 mins. No help no order taker nothing no coffee no water.. Went to cash register to complain was charged $ 3.44 for my coffee and water and a tip?? I've been eating at freeway for 5 years and never been treated this badly. Never again these people are very rude the food may not be good now. So I went here with my parents and their recommendations are usually pretty awful. I will say though, their breakfast choices are always stellar, and this is one of them. I guess they have two locations but we went to this one on Sheridan. It was easy to find and parking was easy too. When we walked it the place was busy and had lots of people seated, we were able to quickly get a table for our party of 8 with no issues. The service was good, the selections were plentiful and the food was great! We had onion rings with breakfast (weird I know) but they were awesome! I was nursing a pretty bad hangover and the food they brought out was just perfect. All of it. Really yummy! My fiance & i had been looking for a great southern homecookin cafe for breakfast...Found this place while driving one morning. It's quite a ways from us, wish there was another place but closer to 61st. Since it is quite away's and nothing else is over there that would give us something to do afterwards we just don't go anymore. The last star is not there because It is always super cold in there and the sausage doesn't taste like real sausage...tastes more like turkey or something weird. Other then that i truly loved eating there and miss it.. So if your heading that away be sure to stop by..they always have their specials wrote on a board facing the entrance so it won't be hard to miss unless your looking at the ceiling the whole time hehe. read more

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER! I'm from Maryland and look forward to my yearly trip with my fiancee (Tulsa native) to Tulsa to visit his family. We come for a week or two every June. We are currently visiting Tulsa and within the first 48 hours we ate here 3 times.... it's just that good! Plus, the staff and the owners are wonderful. It just doesn't get any better than this. I had a call in order and have never been here before today. I was late picking it up and Iman (manager possibly?) was telling me the food was now cold and I told him not to worry about it we would reheat it. Even after that he still was hesitant. He stopped and opened it and told me that he was going to have it remade. This was beyond good customer service. I did not ask him to do this nor was it his problem with me picking up the food late. Thank you, Iman! Because of you I will definitely be trying the restaurant myself as well as letting people know how great your customer service is. read more

He has more of a southern cooking palette while I have more of a spicy or seasoning palette, so it's not my favorite, but I can still find something good to eat at this diner. I live just a short walk away from Freeway Cafe and my boyfriend and I frequent this diner not just because of its proximity. The breakfasts are fantastic. Hot, delicious, not healthy at all but made with love and always consistant. Eggs are always made exactly as ordered and the hamsteak is bigger than my head. The Bacon Cheeseburger is classic with thick cut crispy bacon fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and BIG. The club sandwich is fantastic. But its the chicken fried steak that I keep coming back for. Not only is the food comforting, but the staff is "laid-back" and very friendly. I have family and friends that come in from out of town a couple times a year and they all get the biscuits and gravy.
