Preparation can suffer, with key elements (tomato, patty, onion, etc.) sliding around each other, invariably slipping out. Excessive grease and an overall unhealthy result often ensues. Here, it seems that extreme attention was paid to everything. From the meat itself being grass fed black angus, to the tasty char / charbroil taste present in its preparation, to the cheese that seemed to perfectly complement the patty, to the unique approach that they used to triple sear the bacon for me-- it all worked perfectly tonight. This was not only a delicious cheeseburger, but the quality of ingredients, likely proving beneficial to your health. While I skipped the French fries as they use canola or vegetable oil (seed oil), making them a problem for me, the dinner salad was substituted. But with the side salad, the chef's attention to detail also emerged. It was replete with interesting and somewhat unusual, but healthful and rewarding ingredients as well. Service, pricing and atmosphere are all great. I'd say that for the $22 charged, you end up with a truly memorable cheeseburger. Worded another way, this tasted homemade. To buy these ingredients and prepare them with care, as they did here, doesn't happen by accident. While there are far more exotic and interesting "high-brow" items on the menu, if this is representative, the restaurant has some great offerings and genuine talent in the kitchen. I look forward to returning.

A new coat of paint doesn't mask the cheap mismatched furniture, or the hulking mass of dated sound equipment littering a stage that could use a revamp itself. "VIP areas" are clearly marked by loose pieces of printer paper with "VIP" in Times New Roman. The lock on the bathroom stall door doesn't lock, and there is unfinished wood screwed to finished wood in the construction. Not even a mirror. Dirty. The staff seems friendly. Not a fan of the music mix. Top 40 from 5 years ago, plus country music here and there. A little dubstep. There is nothing extreme about this place. It looks like they stopped halfway through the remodel and just went for it. Probably isn't a terrible place to go if Infinity is too far. They had a free limo ride promotion, but I don't expect that will last. Every time I've been there it never seems to get very busy , and the demographics of the clientele are all over the place. Some rough biker gang types, and what looked like someone's parents were in there last time I was there. On the bright side, the taco truck next to the entrance has decent pork tacos for $2.00, so it's not a total loss. I've heard that Latino Night on Sundays seem to have the best draw for them. It's not close to anything, and they seem to have absolutely no web presence whatsoever. I had to create the location to write this review. Their Facebook page is Shock After, for example. They have a nice big stage, but to date they have this strange go-go cage up there that no one dances in. They've been open for about a month or two at the time of this review. I wouldn't recommend this place above other places doing the same thing. I think if it were trying to be just a bar, they'd probably be a decent one, but the nightclub focus kinda keeps it from being great at either one. If you want $10 at the door, you'll have to do a lot better than that.

Well, she rents a car and makes that 4 hour drive to the small hole in the wall venue to see them! I saw Pepper play here on a Thursday night. As expected for this band, there was a line up to get in at least an hour before doors opened! This venue was perfect for me to see an amazing band up close and personal! When you first enter the building this is where the bathrooms and bar and merch sales take place. Then you walk down to where the music takes place. There are no seats (at least I dont remember there being any). There were sort of three levels to it. The most lower level we'll call the "pit" because really that is where you go to be as close as possible to whoever it is that you are seeing. Then there were two more levels with a handfull of bar tables to put a drink or two on. Each level was separated by railing. It does seem like an older building, but I think that really just adds to the ambience of the venue. :) There are plenty of eateries in walking distance if you want to grab a bite before a show. Parking is street parking. I didn't see a garage in the area, then again I am not a local, so I can only state what I saw as I was driving around looking for a spot to park. I'd see a show here again if the opportunity arrises.

Our server seemed to think…read morewe needed an explanation on the difference in fattiness between a ribeye, New York strip, and a filet mignon which when you're ordering $60-$70 steaks seems kind of unnecessary. He also described the filet as very lean, which while true is still a delicious cut of meat. Then he started explaining what the Oscar topping option and it was just too much, so I told him we understood the basics. Our first time, we received a description of the specials and asked if we had other questions about the menu - perfectly appropriate. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops which we've had plenty of time, but these were topped with an apricot chili sauce that totally overpowered the taste of the scallop. All you could taste was the bacon and what tasted like a barbecue sauce - not an apricot chili glaze. We'll never order those again. The steaks were perfectly cooked as always, but the baked potatoes were luke warm and barely hot enough to melt the butter and definitely not hot enough to melt the cheese. We had a show to attend so there was no time to send anything back. At this point, we're not hurrying back for another dinner for 2 with a $300 price tag, which includes a $130 bottle of wine.

Amazingly, finding someone that knows how to cook a steak can be difficult. After quick Google and Yelp searches, we learned about the Winery. I made a reservation online, and I'm glad I did because it is a busy place. Located in an alley, the historic building used to house a horse drawn carriage fire station. Pretty cool to think about. To me the building was quite charming. I loved the outside walls covered in vines and the old wooden door that opened into quaint, cozy rooms covered in wood and old bricks with beautiful stained glass windows. I felt like I had stepped back in time to an old timey tavern. When we arrived, our table was ready. We ordered a couple of drinks and decided to go straight for our meal. I decided on the 6 ounce filet. It was locally sourced and wrapped in apple wood smoked bacon. I asked for medium well and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered a loaded baked potato to go with it. It was a delicious meal, and I had leftovers for the next day. For the amount of food we got, the service and the quality of the meal. I would highly recommend The Winery for a date night out or other special occasion.

I started with the Italian Wedge salad, which was excellent. I'm not a ranch fan, so I had them swap it out for Italian dressing, and it paired perfectly. I always love starting a meal with a good wedge, and this one did not disappoint. For the main course, I ordered the Pasta with Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce. I'm a big fan of spicy Italian flavors -- it's a different kind of heat -- and this dish delivered. The Calabrian peppers (one of my favorite peppers) were perfectly incorporated, giving it great depth and flavor. The spice level was just right: bold and flavorful without being overwhelming. If I had one critique of the meal, it would be the pasta itself -- the noodles were fine, but nothing particularly special. That said, the sauce and overall flavor more than made up for it. I skipped dessert only because the portion size of the main dish was so generous there was no room left. If I had ordered one, it absolutely would've been the tiramisu. Honestly, slightly smaller portions on the entrée wouldn't hurt, but that's not a bad problem to have. Also, the aesthetics of the dining area need some work, feels kind of outdated and old, the tables near the kitchen entrance doors tacky and the tables felt crammed in there, minimal space between tables. It could really use some updates of the interior to bring the dining room up to the experience you'd expect for a $55.00 meal before tax for 1 person. Overall, a very enjoyable meal, and I would go back.
