Today was my second time here and I'm just impressed this time as i was the first time I came. The staff is super friendly, it's cute and quaint, and they really pay attention to how you want your nails to look. The cherries on top for me are two things: 1) they give you a really nice hot towel massage with lotion and oil for the cuticles. All rubbed in for a good 45 secs to a min for each hand. And 2) THE PRICE. The photo i attached cost $55, i tipped her $20 so grand total of $75 which is really good for this area. Highly recommend this place. It's in the cut behind Aladdin's, and i was kinda sketched out the first time I came, but I'm so glad i did. This is my new fave place to get nails done in fxbg. read more

A little pricey but that could just be because I'm not always getting my nails done, sometimes I do sometimes I don't go back for weeks or months. I tipped because of the great service! I received a pedicure there on May 7th and ended up in the hospital. I take it they don't follow the proper safety and sanitation protocols. I was cut on my 3rd right toe and I now have paronychia. I have to take antibiotics for 7 to 10 days and follow up with a podiatrist. read more

We happened by this little nail place during a recent visit with friends in Fredericksburg, VA. My girlfriend and I were in desperate need for a little pampering - in the form of gel nailpolish and a foot massage - so we stopped into the brand new strip mall store. Nothing special from the outside. As I said, it's in a strip mall. A new strip mall, and choicely located behind the one and only Starbucks, but a strip mall all the same. Inside, the place is clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and we were seated in our pedicure chairs immediately. When we sat, the water in my foot tub was very hot. I don't usually mind, but most others would likely not have been able to just slide their feet in. Conversely, my girlfriends water, was cold. Literally. So, a bit inconsistent. The pedicure was okay. Nothing special - no real special care taken to any portion, with the exception of the little cheese grater looking thing that smoothed my feet overall. The manicure was a bit less mediocre. I got a solid color OPI gel and its, well, okay. I requested that the color match the color on my toes as closely as possible and what I ended up with was sparkly plum colored 12-year-old-girl fingernails and deep cabernet red toenails. Sigh... Lucky for that girl, it's winter. Finally, after what I would consider a completely one-visit experience, I walked to the counter to pay. $62 later (and that included a 20% discount because they just opened) I left knowing I would neither return or recommend the place. My dissatisfaction with the pricetag came because we were in Fredericksburg, not DC. For a place an hour and a half from The District, I should have to pay more for far less. read more

In the past this place has been pretty decent. The last visit not so much. Just had gel manicure done less than two days ago and already chipped. The pedicure was a joke. Had to ask to get my nails cleaned up and overall awful and not relaxing. My nails where totally cut uneven and made my ingrown toenail worse! Don't waste your time going here. 2.5hrs for a manicure & pedicure. 1.5hrs was the manicure. Guy cut my skin all up & my nails are all jagged. Didn't think a manicure was that difficult. This used to be my go to spot and I will never go here again. Went here a few weeks ago and got nail builder put over my natural nails as I was told it's healthy for the nails and I was looking for something to help strengthen my nails to help from breaking. It was $50, a little pricey but was worth it. Went today to get the fill in of builder and gels done. He asked me if I wanted them long and I said yes. Didn't want them cut any shorter as they had gotten quite long. Thinking he was fixing my one nail that had cracked, with the nail clippers and evening out the others, I wasn't paying attention until nail 4 of him cutting my natural nails completely off! He then argued that I said I wanted long nails. He put fake nails on me to replace my natural nails that I had. He didn't soak my nails before doing cuticles and gave me the absolute worst hand massage I've ever received with a manicure. To top it off he charged me $70 acting like he took $10 off!! I would give 0 stars if I could. I will never go here again and would not recommend. read more

This is my third time here and every time I come I am always welcomed immediately when I walk in the door. The nice thing is the nail technicians are not constantly speaking another language in front of you. I have zero problems with communication on what I want. I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about...i've been going there for over a year now. Sometimes you might wait a minute to be greeted because they are busy, but every one of the people that works there is pleasant. They are not overly friendly and scary, they are real. The staff are all different levels of experience, some are better than others, but if you needed absolute perfection for say a wedding, the two owners do amazing work. I have gone from nails that wouldn't grow to acrylics to acrylic pink and white (which was perfection) to my current favorite which is the gel on my own, long nails....their gel french lasted me almost 3 weeks....they do beautiful nail art and relaxing pedicures. Again each staff member has their own style. I have problem feet and they take care of me....It's not the prettiest place in the world and I'm not really a fan of vietnamese music, but it is clean and they are very nice people. The prices are pretty much consistent with everybody else. read more

This is my regular nail salon that I go to. Tom is the only one who does my nails, he really takes his time and pays super attention to detail! I've been to a lot of nail salons and I've always had issues with the techs cutting my cuticles. After finding this salon I won't go anywhere else, Tom has never injured my fingers, he is very skilled with the tools and will deliver nothing less than professional, star quality nails. He is easy to talk to and funny as heck! Nice environment and the staff is very friendly. They are all wonderful technicians. The only thing I would say they need to work on is taking the customers on time who make an appointment. I called a little after noon one day and made a 6PM appointment for that evening. I arrived there 20 minutes early at 5:40 and wasn't seen until 6:35PM. I know they take walk ins but if they know they have an appointment scheduled I think they need to work on managing time better and prioritize the appointments first. I had waited patiently because I knew the quality of my nails that I was going to soon receive, but would definitely like to be taken on time in case I might have something else I need to get done that same evening. I must say that I began getting my nails done at Freestyle Nails 1 month after they opened and became a regular. The nail techs were on point and the services were great. Needless to say, now that I've been there and became an old hat, I've been pushed aside, given appointments that were not kept (on numerous occasions). Told that my money was not as important as his family (one of the owner's) and in other words... I can take my business elsewhere (which is what I intend to do)!!! So.... Ladies if you want all around good service... My suggestion is to LOOK FURTHER!!!! The good customer service that was once good has gone out the door! And...so have I !!!. I have never written a review, however I found it necessary because I don't want those who commit to a personal service such as this and if you don't have a lot of time in your busy schedule to bounce from place to place....
