She's delicate in her work, pays very close attention to detail, and she's willing to try out ideas for nail creations. It's always important to go in with an open mind whenever you bring in any inspiration. Even when I showed Mimi tik tok videos and photos, she did her version of it and it's so pretty! One time she tried out a cat-eye ombré and I loved the outcome. We don't really talk much during the service, but I'm honestly not much of a talker when I'm getting my nails done. I was having a great day, until I entered Sindy's for my manicure / dip. I admit I arrived five minutes late. However, that does not equate to being berated and spoken to in a very unprofessional manner by Casey. She grabbed Her hair / head and in front of others including my nail technician told me she tried to contact me to see if I could come in early. She said she called me twice. Unfortunately I missed her call. Not knowing what she was talking about... I said I didn't get a call from you. She stormed from behind the desk and went out the side door mumbling something. I was shocked and confused. I've been going to Sindy's for YEARS. Im not sure what was wrong with the receptionist. She was RUDE and more than disrespectful. My pedicure didn't go very well either. One thumb nail was so short I had to file my other one. In some instances the polish did not reach my nail bed or the sides of my nails. A great place to go for once in a while visit. I wouldn't go here you are going regularly. I went with my friends and we got pedicures and manicures. I got a gel manicure and I love it! The lady who did one of my friends cut her toe twice. The staff is usually nice except a select few. Most staff are not very chatty so that can be good or bad it's on your opinion. Horrific Experience at Sindy's Nail and Spa - Poor Customer Service by the owner I am writing this review to express my frustration and disappointment with my recent experience at Sindy's Nail and Spa in Spotsylvania, VA. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I encountered poor customer service with the front desk staff, and after this incident, I felt compelled to share my experience. I went to the salon for a scheduled nail appointment, expecting a relaxing and professional experience. However, during my visit, I had the unfortunate experience of being treated disrespectfully by the owner, Jim McMackin. While my nail technician was in the process of working on my nails and determining my service (acrylic removed and full set), the owner approached me in an aggressive, degrading, and rude tone, saying, "YOU DID NOT TELL ME THAT YOU WANTED TO HAVE YOUR NAILS SOAKED OFF." I was taken aback by his tone and felt deeply disrespected. Despite my efforts to remain calm and composed, his words were unnecessary and uncalled for. Prior to this, the nail technician had been discussing the details of the service, including soaking off my old acrylic nails, and we were in the process of clarifying everything. But without warning, the owner stepped in to address the situation in an overly confrontational manner. What happened next was even more shocking. After I responded with silence to his disrespectful tone, he said, "DO YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID TO YOU TWICE?" in a nasty, condescending way, as if I were a child. It felt like he was intentionally trying to belittle and intimidate me for simply not engaging with his rudeness. What is even more disappointing is that this behavior seems to be a pattern, and it is especially troubling given that the owner is male. His disrespectful attitude toward women is not only unprofessional, but it is also completely inappropriate for a business that primarily serves female customers. It is incredibly sad that someone who owns a business lacks the basic fundamentals of customer service. He definitely needs proper training on how to treat customers with respect and professionalism. This place could have been great, but unfortunately, due to the owner's clear lack of customer service skills, it is seriously underperforming. I came in for 2 full sets and 2 pedicures. I ended up not getting one of the pedicures because it took Giao over 2 hours to complete my nails. Also she filed into my nail bed and now a part of my natural nail is hanging from the skin. Extremely painful! Giao also cannot shape well and laid the acrylic lumpy and uneven. She does a really messy job. My daughter and I had acrylic and top coat all over our cuticles. When I asked her about it she said oh you can just wash it off. After 2 days the nail color was already chipping. I paid $90 for this and the nails are already lifting. I chose her because of her pictures on yelp, but was left very disappointed. Chuy told her to go wash her hands in the sink and then before she returned to the chair to get her purse and phone, Chuy already had someone else in the seat, ready to start the next service. When my fiancé asked Chuy to fix her SEVERAL mistakes, chewy refused and did not notice the obvious errors. She also did not answer nail care questions. I am unsure of how this establishment receives such positive reviews despite the lack of customer service. I am not one to write reviews especially for a business predominately for women but after the experience my wife received yesterday I want to make sure other women are not subjected to this extreme hostile environment. My wife was taken care of by a technician named "Tom". My wife even showed Tom a picture of what she wanted her nails to look like as she's done in this establishment numerous times before and had great results from other nail technicians. Her experience yesterday, the final product was no where near what she wanted and instead of making a scene with the tech, my wife let the manager Holly know quietly and subtly that maybe Tom isn't the best at that particular nail style for future customers. Instead of Holly taking the employee to a back room or wait till after business hours to talk to him she did it at the front desk while my wife was in the process of waiting to pay. This is where things took a turn for the worst as Tom started to say loudly yell "Is she b**ching?!" numerous times, before loudly yelling/pointing directly at my wife "You f**cking b**tch" multiple times. What amazes me is that during this tirade by Mr. Tom which other women and children are present, the woman behind the desk still continues to take my wife's payment. My wife was beyond embarrassed as she doesn't like confrontation and proceeded to walk out. I was actually on speaker phone during this whole ordeal and heard the entire thing. As I pulled in I went in to the establishment to speak to the technician, Tom was not remorseful in any way but had the audacity to justify his actions and continue to put my wife down verbally. Holly did refund my wife for her experience but this is not about money but a lack of professionalism. This is verbal assault from a male to a female customer. I did speak to the owner and while I believe Jim to be genuine of his apology I am floored by his decision to continue Tom's employment at his business instead of immediately terminating him. Tom was put on a "final warning" for verbally assaulting my wife. My concern and reason for writing a review is that Holly the Manager said to me that Tom has a history of "explosive behavior" and has had issues in the past. Take it for what it's worth but it's hard to support a local business that treats their customers with this level of disrespect and then continues to stand behind their employees for such behavior to happen again. As there are plenty of other nail salons to chose from in the area. Unfortunately I would stay away from this one until they fix employment issues within their establishment to make it a safe environment where women are not verbally assaulted. I received a gift card and went to Sindy's for the first time for a full set. Everything was great at first. They were quick to get me in despite how busy they were. Once my nails were done i noticed closer to my cuticles my nails were really red and looked as if the acrylic was imbedded in my natural nail. I mentioned it to the lady and she said it was fine. I went to a different salon for fill a few weeks later but they didn't want to touch my nails because they did not look okay. I have been to this salon a few times in an attempt to find a nail technician that is actually "licensed" and/or "skilled", but most of all RESPECTFUL (of me and the fact I am utilizing their business). The sole reason for my unhappiness was Jim. The receptionist was very friendly and told me how amazing the lady is who does facials. Jim told her she was taking too long. Most recent visit I was horrified to see and hear who I assume is the manager aggressively admonish the front desk girl for touching her phone briefly in front of the entire establishment. It made me super uncomfortable. Later, I had my gel nails wrapped for removal before my pedicure and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to sit in a pedicure chair or at a manicure station. So I walked over to him to ask if he knew where I should be but his response made me feel small saying "you are SUPPOSED to be sitting right here" in a tone that seemed to suggest I was annoying him. I understand this place has people coming in and out constantly but he clearly is the owner or in some type of managerial position, so I felt he should have handled me more delicately? I got my nails done last Thursday with my friend, who is a regular customer. This was my second time coming to this salon because my normal salon is far away. The first time was okay. This time, I got French manicure gel manicure, and after only two days, my thumb nail started chipping. It shipped to the point where the gel came off and now my nail is broken because it has no protection. Today, I started noticing that one of my nails on the opposite hand started chipping and now, the gel polish has started coming off completely. There are a couple of other nails that look like they may chip pretty soon. This is unacceptable because gel polish is supposed to last at least two weeks. The salon never responded to my email. got my nails done on April 11th by Yao (I believe that was her name) after the receptionist mentioned how good of a nail tech she is. When I arrived she took one look at one of the inspiration pictures I had and said she can do that then walked away to attend someone else. That wasn't really a problem for me, I'm fully aware that the place is busy especially at the time I came in but when I actually sat down with her it didn't take long for her to start being rude and for some reason she was adamant on sticking to a certain design when I really just wanted her to gather inspiration from the 5 or so pictures I had. Anyways, while she was doing them I could tell she was sort of speeding through them and skipping a few steps. The shaping of them was really well done, which is why I leave one star, but after that I noticed she didn't ask me to wash my hands before applying color, not sure if that makes a difference. Fast forward to when I got home and really took a good look at my nails and noticed that the application on some nails was inconsistent and had some streaky spots and the flower charms she added weren't sealed well because they were scratchy and kept getting caught on things. Apart from that I noticed that the skin around my nails was covered in some of the acrylic powder residue. I admit now that I should've taken a better look before leaving the salon but I was already needing to leave to attend to other errands and the cuticle oil she put on me made it hard to notice these things. 3 days later while I'm packing a suitcase for a trip I just got back from, I had 3 of the flower charms fall off while I wasn't really doing anything crazy with my hands. During my trip, a couple more fell off and 1 whole nail came loose and I had to remove it because it kept pulling on my real nail. I'm only writing this review now because I had one snap straight in half while I was grabbing the handle of my fridge earlier. It's been exactly 10 days since I got this set done and it's already coming off. My previous set done by a different nail tech at the same salon lasted me a month before I took them off. Im not here to ask for any kind of compensation or refund because I technically did get what I paid for but for over $100 that I spend on these, the nails should've lasted way longer and have been applied better. I hope the business can take this into consideration and the nail tech to use better practices because I expected better service and treatment from someone who's been doing this for over 10 years. read more

We have been coming here for 7 years but since the ownership changed hands recently it's like night and day. Before it was a ballet of timely and through services, with the owner and front desk team working seamlessly to ensure services were being performed above expectations and on schedule. However today was a slow painful train wreck. Checked in and told there would be a wait for my husband and my pedicure but they would do his eyebrows wax while we waited. The person to do it was short with us and done in 3 minutes, we seemed an inconvenience to her. Then when I went to tip her as she was by the counter, she was actively arguing my husband should be charged more because he's a guy as I stood there holding cash for her. We were seen for our pedicures 30 minutes after our appointment time, they sat us and disappeared. 5 minutes later someone came and began mine while my husband marinated. After soaking for 20 minutes and 50 minutes from our appointment time with no service, my husband dried his feet and left to run errands. I'm throughly disappointed after the wonderful service we had here for years for the utterly downhill experience we had today.
