AVOID AT ALL COST!! I was not going to do a review but...I came in on may 28th for a gel mani, I should have seen the red flags when I walked into the nail shop and everybody just stared at me checking the time.. a male tech asked me what I wanted & asked an older nail tech who was chilling on her phone in the pedi area to do my manicure. I had already had gel nails on which was done at another nail shop. She put only one of my hands in a bowl of water & immediately started drilling on the other hand.. dry... the drill ended up rolling off my nail onto my finger, she drilled to a degree where my nails hurt to touch. She also kept cutting at my cuticle down to the skin & skin (not cuticle) surrounding my nail? Without me realizing it She shaped my nails without asking me what I wanted in the first place.. she then asked if the shape was okay.. they were all different shapes and the tips of my nails were jagged & blade like. I pointed to the one nail she did not shape and said I wanted them to stay that way(oval). She then went in with the hand file & cuticle cutters and started filing at some nails & cutting at others whilst cutting she starts going deeper into the sides of my nails where the skin grows down to the cuticle even attempting to pull output what she was cutting from the cuticle until I yelled ow & she stopped shaping.. she did not go in with the file to smooth out those cuts she had made.. I came in with long natural nails & she filed one of my thumbs short and the other stayed long, she did not buffer the ends of nails so they stayed jagged. She then started painting & did one layer of paint & you could see splotches of my natural nail & the paint was completely see through.. I had to ask her three times to to do another layer of paint of which she said no the first and second time.. she did the second layer & I had request silver glitter on top of my nails before we had started and the male tech got a few of them and I liked the bigger glitter, he left them all on the table. Once she was done applying the second coat. she grabbed anyone of the glitter & started painting one nail without asking me which one I wanted.. she then asked if the glitter was okay as I stared at the nail before she could do the rest.. I told her I wanted the bigger and she looked annoyed & with an annoyed tone asking me why I wanted the bigger glitter & why I did not do the small one... she applied the glitter polish & top coat & I washed my hands and paid. I walked out and walked back in after I tried scratching my face and it hurt as my nails were still jagged & sharp from the straight cuts she made with the cuticle cutter. I asked for a refund and showed them the crooked, jagged, and uneven nails & the guy tech argued that was how my nails naturally were despite him never setting eyes on them once while I was in there, me not arriving at the place with my nails that way, & their being clear straight cuts down to my cuticle making my nails appear crooked from the cutter she used. he then filled my nails off and continued to try to argue about it more. He then told me that if it were not my natural nail that I would have not gotten a refund.. he also talked in a different language to the other techs & they were laughing (including the tech that did my nails).. he then refunded me what I paid which was 41.00(also stated on the receipts).. i had to cut my nails down short when it got home as it hurt to drive as it felt like pressure at my nails & pain when my natural nail touched something in the slighted, they still feel the same way short and I still cannot touch anything without it hurting my nails completely.. I have stray cut nails & skin from where she cut with the cuticular cutter on the sides of my nails that she left that hurt to touch due to her negligence. It is now 5/31 & I look at my bank statements and I see a charge from them of 47.15.. completely unacceptable. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.. they show no care for the customer & cannot take accountability for their techs bad work.. on top stealing from their customers despite refunding? read more

I am visiting from out of town and was looking for a place to get my nails done that would meet my standards. After searching on Google l, I found Sassy's nails and the reviews looked promising. I called and told them I was 20 minutes out and would like an appointment with Tommy. They told me that they would see me in 20 minutes. Got there and was seen right away. Tommy was GREAT!! He did not get acrylic on my cuticles and my nails look natural and aren't clunky. I LOVE them!! When I'm back in town, I'll come here and ask for Tommy! read more

I checked the reviews and landed in this nail salon!! I asked Tommy if they could do a flower design and he said yes! With real dried flowers- not the stickers!! On top of that I had to leave at 5pm!! They did both my pedicure with gel and acrylic nails at the same time and in an hour!! I didn't intend to do both but they made it work!! Made an appointment this past Saturday for a gel mani and pedicure. Salon was very busy when I arrived but was seated quickly by the owner (?). She took my acrylics off and had a very hard time....it took an entire hour to get them off, and at the end about 25% of the glue/acrylic was still left on the nail. She said it was "the best she could do". She then started the mani & the gel polish. The polish was chunky and looked bad with the glue still on my nails. I suggested maybe clear would be better? She said ok, and although it did look a little better - my nails are still trashed. Terrible cleanup, nails started breaking in the parking lot. An hour and a half later I'm *done* - she doesn't mention the pedicure, and I didn't bring it up...frankly I was pretty surprised at that point how bad my nails were and didn't want any more service. I reached out to them directly on their website about getting them fixed properly, but no response. read more

I was visiting my boyfriend and stopped to get my nails done. The customer service was great, very friendly team. They seemed short handed and a couple of people walked out. Apparently one of the techs was in Vietnam for 5 weeks. Regardless, I got in and out quickly. The owner did my nails - gel mani - he was very personable. I noticed when he was doing my nails that he didn't do a lot of cutting away at my cuticles or the skin build up. I asked why and he said it didn't need it, but that's not true, it did. I also has a cracked nail and wanted him to cut it, but he glued it. I also asked why he was using the "gel" polish shellac instead of the one that says gel. He said it was gel, but just a different brand. Sigh! My pedicure was awesome and this really nice lady did it. I can't remember her name, but that's why I'm giving the place two stars. Fast forward and less than a week later, my nails are a mess, pic below. I'm so irritated and disappointed. I live in Montgomery County MD and my boyfriend is in Fredericksburg VA. I'd love to have a nail salon here too. Regardless, I will not go back to Sassy Nails. The price was comparable to what I pay in MD, but I feel like I was cheated and now I have to pay to have my nails done again in less than a week. read more

I have only been here once after reading awesome reviews online, to be horribly disappointing with my final result. My daughter was with me and had a great time and a good experience, I, on the other hand, didn't. I went in to get a gel manicure w/tips. Whilst trying to pick out polishes, I was pushed away from using one and going to another after I had asked explicitly to use that particular polish. I was told that it was "cheap" and I shouldn't use it, which was nice to forewarn me, but then I thought "why are you using 'cheap' polishes?" etc. SO, while doing my nails, my tech randomly walked out of the building and was away for 10 minutes or more. I sat there, confused. When he returned, he shaped my nails and they were jagged and not even the same length! The experience was hurried and after I left, I saw that pieces of the tips were even chipped! The atmosphere was nice, overall, but the service I received was horrid. Fortunately, my daughter was the opposite. We won't be coming back :( read more

I just moved to Fredericksburg and was on the hunt for the perfect nail shop. I conducted extensive research and finally selected Sassy Nails. After only being there for 10 minutes I knew I had made the right decision. Tommy and Michelle made everyone feel at ease and bent over backwards to provide second to none customer service. Every customer leaving was so happy. I selected Abbie as my nail tech and she went beyond to fix an issue from my last shop. To further help, Tommy provided a natural regimen for me to use for 2 weeks. Abbie was very patient in listening to my likes and dislikes as a new customer. I enjoyed my mani, pedi, eyebrow and face waxing. She has an amazing calming touch that made me truly enjoy each service. After returning two weeks later, the natural regimen that Tommy had me do worked perfectly and my nail issue was resolved. I am so happy I found my new nail home!! read more

I was out in the area for work for a few months and searched high and low for a great spot to get my nails and toes done. It took me about three spots before I found Sassy Nails and I never looked back. The customer service alone earned them five stars but the fantastic job they did on my nails, sealed the deal. I live in Southern California where there are plenty of places to get my nails done but I wish I could have brought Sassy Nails back with me. This is the best nail salon I've ever had the pleasure of visiting in VA! I drive at least an hour one way every two weeks to get mine and my cousin's nails done and the regular pedi. Tommy does the detailed nail designs and embellishments and stays up to date with current trends. He is hilarious and friendly. His wife Michelle does the best pedis in VA. She master's ingrown nails and transforms your toe nails into works of art. My toe nails stay fresh for at least 30 days (gel polish) Give these guys a chance, don't let negative reviewers scare you off, they must've had 2 or 3 off days in the 20 years of business. Those are excellent odds as far as I'm concerned. The longer you go, the better it gets because you end up being more comfortable voicing your wants and requests and asking for things before you leave which ensures perfection every time. read more

Most salons are rush rush when crowded and they miss a lot of important details that come with a mani /pedi. But not this salon. They are worth any wait time. I will not recommend this nail salon to anyone! When I entered the salon the owner was playing Hip Hop music that was explicit. It was not pleasant for someone who is visiting for the first time. There were also clients that were loud, cussing, and being obnoxious. They took away the time I needed to relax and be pampered. You could tell they were regulars because the owner was also using explicit language. As far as their quality of nails, I will rate them a five out of ten. Beware. I visited this place almost a year ago and the technician cut me and tried to claim that I was bleeding when I came in. They gave me a gift card. which I didn't think I would ever use but I decided maybe I was just unlucky that day. This was a mistake. The tech was scrubbing away the side of my toe with a pumice while looking away and having a conversation with another tech, not paying attention, until I started to bleed. Also, I could tell the pumice was used. I'm not convinced that this place has safe enough sanitary practices. I would be surprised if there haven't been several cases of staff infections, or who knows what else linked to this place. Not only this, I requested a spa pedicure which, per the spa menu, includes a message. I mentioned this and she insisted she already did it. Let me start by saying that I typically get my nails done from a tech who works out of her home and specializes in unique designs and quality work, so my standards are very high to say the least! However she is now pregnant and no longer doing nails at the moment so the hunt for a new nail salon in the mean time is on! I was tired of going to the same dirty and overly priced nail salons in this area and wanted to try something new, so I turn to yelp! This was my first time at this salon and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I tried out this salon due to the reviews here on yelp, and as it wasn't the best mani pedi I've ever had, it was good! Everyone at the salon was very nice and the salon had a pretty clean atmosphere. I got a acrylic fill and pedicure and both were good! Not what I'm use to but still really good for a standard salon! My only negative was that they seem to rush a bit. For instants, one of my acrylics needed to be removed and instead of soaking it off they just ripped it off with a nail extension, and my foot got cut when I was getting my pedicure. But all in all the staff was very friendly and asked lots of questions to make sure I was okay and happy. The prices were reasonable, and I would definitely come back! read more

Okay so I don't want to bash them, but I got a Brazilian wax, I've had 3 other Brazilian's at a different business. Comparing the two places the room for waxing is right off the entryway and when you take your clothes off and they open the door practically everyone can see you. She used only ONE stick to dip and place the wax over and over again, which is a sanitary issue. They also have a bikini wax listed at $25 but I paid $55 because they didn't seem like they were sure about it. Besides that she pretty much cleared all the hair effectively. read more

I'm not sure what they use for their gel polish but whatever it is doesn't work. I had my nails REDONE last Thursday because the original gel manicure was already chipping after ONE DAY. And it wasn't just chipping, you could literally lift the gel in one whole piece off the nails. So i called the salon and they allowed me to come back and have them redone at n/c (which was very nice but honestly expected). So now Im on day four of the NEW gel manicure and my nails are chipping off AGAIN. Customer service from the female nail technician wasn't great either. She never apologized for the inconvenience or even said anything to time the entire time. The point of having a gel manicure is paying 40$ so they can last two-three weeks and not having to repetitively have them fixed every couple of days. I came for the first time and I got the feeling of them being rushed. And I hate this. I called earlier to make the appointment and when I got there the salon was really clean and you can see that they put effort on the cleaning which I appreciate. But one of my nails got a bump from the acrylic and I told the lady and and then she blamed the light and shadow. ok. Never mind then If you can't see something I do and I am the one paying for my nails and I would expect to be heard when it comes to the service I'm paying for. I will not come back here. They don't go over pricing when you tell them what you want but I guess non of them so... I can see that they can be very saving oriented and you might have to ask them to put more here or there cause they will put just a bit of filling enough to cover the growth they won't do a full nail cover with fresh acrylic. I ended up with two of my fingers with gel on them. And I had to take out part of the crusts from the filing down nail that I previously had. I leave this review to your best judgment. I normally don't do this cause I know everyone is struggling but Damn. I felt like I wanted to leave that place since the lady didn't see the bumpy nail. Meh.
