Booked a spa day on Sunday -- the massage was wonderful, 5/5. I thoroughly enjoyed that experience, Kevin was great. The room was cozy, the amenities were lovely. However, my gel manicure is a huge disappointment. It took much longer than usual, which I chalked up to my tech paying attention to detail. It looked great when it was finished, so I wasn't complaining. That was on Sunday. By Tuesday, the polish was fading away at the edges. It's Friday, and the polish has chipped, lifted, and PEELED. I have never had a gel manicure last for less than a week -- it was pricey, so that is a huge bummer. read more

This is the Fredericksburg location. No idea about the Culpepper location. The only reason it isn't five stars is the physical structure. It is in an absolutely gorgeous old home converted to a business. Hardwood floors, beautiful details....and A LOT of stairs! There is no way to get in without stairs :( they do have back stairs, which are easier-ish to navigate, but still not amazing. The massage rooms are in the basement. at least UP the stairs is after they've worked out the kinks. lol I have had a lot of injuries and often use a cane, so i always have to weigh how much help i need versus how many stairs i can manage. But once i'm there, i am NEVER disappointed! Been going there off and on for many years. Beth, Dan, Kevin...i've lost track! All of them phenomenal. I always feel better after seeing them. I usually get medical massage due to my injuries and they don't disappoint. The only thing i don't like is something they can't change - the building. And I really do love the building. Just wish i were less broken :( i think the culpepper location is a storefront? not sure. maybe try there if you're not able to do stairs. it's too far for me and i love my peeps in Fxbg. read more

Parking is a major problem. I had an appointment for an express facial. I left my home leaving with plenty of time to find a parking space and walk just in case. The day I went there was no parking to be had. I call the spa asking where I could park. They said it not there policy to provide parking and that I should have allowed plenty of time to accommodate time to find a parking spot. I person on the phone was so angry and mean. They charged me for a cancelation on my credit card. This was not my first time. I have gone there many times before and the people were so nice. I booked a massage with a back scrub, hot stones, and the CBD add-on, and the whole experience felt thoughtful, professional, and genuinely relaxing from start to finish. I had a pedicure with Jackie. It was so relaxing and this place is so clean and organized and Jackie is an excellent nail technician. She gave me some good recommendations because when she took off my gel, she could tell that I had been using gel on my toes for quite some time, and my nails had become quite thin. So she recommended that I take a short break from the gel which no one had ever offered before, so I really appreciated that. There is so much else that this spa offers that I'm sure I'm going to try not only the manicure but the massage and the facial and other such opportunities even though I do watch my money. Overall a very subpar pedicure experience especially for the price. It's what is considered a basic pedicure everywhere and no options for upgrades. They only have peppermint scrub.... Which is really uncommon as it can be a little spicy for some. The chairs are highly uncomfortable and not really ideal for taller people as they aren't adjustable, they also aren't any sort of messaging just a normal sitting chair. You're also putting your foot into a small foot sink on a wooden platform. The nail polishes are dried out basically so they add something in them instead of buying new making the color slightly different than expected. They also don't really clean under your nails or give any sort of leg or foot message. The only good thing was the employees were very nice. read more

Im new to the area, i went in for an underarm and eyebrow wax. The place is ABSOLUTELY adorable and stunning way of using a home. It was my first time for a professional underarm wax but not a eyebrows by any means. Didn't hurt as bad as expected, the tech was super nice. I was on a time crunch so I was over aware of the time. I sat in the waiting room (the offer adult beverages and coffee which is great) but I waited 20 minutes after my appointment time. Then when tech was doing her thing she said I had two options: to go home and shave the remaining part or she could pluck the difficult parts the wax couldn't grab. Which seemed odd because that's why I went in, I didn't have time to fight with a mirror and tweezers I wanted it done right. I kindly apologized and asked for her to go in with tweezers but when I got home I noticed noticeable patches not only on my underarm but my eyebrows as well. Super bummed. I'm wondering if the tech that was supposed to do my wax was late or unavailable and they sent someone who's specialty is NOT waxing. Which is ok I was just disappointed Now I'm looking for a place to get my nails done and I will not be coming back because I'm worried it'll be a less than desirable work for ten times the price of doing it at home myself. read more

I came here after receiving a gift card for Christmas. I booked a gel pedicure for a 12:45PM appointment. I arrived about 10 mins early and filled out the online form before coming inside. I came inside and waited until a little after 1 before being called back. Once I get to the pedicure area, I picked my color and had a seat. On the table next to be was the other customers water bottle and then a used cup of some sort of drink from whoever sat in my spot I was in. My nail tech, Daisy was nice. However, after informing her I had gel polish on she mentioned she would inform the front desk to add the charge. She stated because the removal took longer, she would not have any time to add a sugar scrub for the pedicure. The pedicure, being $80, and all that was done was a gel polish removal, a cut down, and gel polish add on. No scrub, hot towel, anything. It was by far the worst pedicure I have gotten. Once I got home, I noticed she didn't paint my entire left pinky toe. She also was sort of rough when filing the nail and removal of the gel. For the price, I expected way more than what received. I will not be returning. read more

I want to start by saying that I visited in February for a dermaplaning facial with SK and it was amazing - worth every penny. At that visit I mentioned that my nails were damaged from years of gel manicures and it was recommended that I come back for "gel extensions" which are supposedly very good for your nails. Even though it was $90 for the manicure and $15 for a design, I was willing to try anything! Paige was my manicurist and she was wonderful - very sweet and professional. The manicure took about 2 hours, which was wild to me, but okay. Halfway through I realize that these "extensions" are basically just press-on nails. It took forever because she filed the extensions to fit my nail shape, which they did (more or less, definitely not perfectly, as it goes with press-on nails). She said they would last "3-4 weeks" and they really did look pretty when they were done. I scheduled my next appt for about 3.5 weeks out, adding a $30 removal fee for my next visit to the $105 I was already going to be paying (before tip). On day 9, I lifted a heavy bag and felt pressure on one of the nails but it didn't break. A few hours later though, it popped off. On day 10, another one popped off when I was putting my kid to bed (not doing anything strenuous). At this point they look ridiculous with two missing so I grab a metal nail file and pop the rest off in about 30 seconds with no damage to my real nails (skip the $30 removal fee, y'all). On the bright side, my real nails look fabulous, not damaged at all, so whatever nail glue they use must be good for your nails. That's rare when getting fake nails, for sure. That said, if you are willing to pay that kind of money to keep your nails healthy, by all means go for it because they will look and feel great, but just know that it's a 10-day manicure and not a 3-4 week manicure. I don't think it was worth paying what I would normally pay for both a mani and pedi that would last at least 2-3 weeks, but that's just me. I would still probably go back for other (skincare) services. read more
