I know a lot of people like this place, but they are a hard no for me. They're unsanitary, which is a huge no no in my book. I got the basic pedicure, which is extra basic because all he did was use sugar scrub lol, so I wasn't going back for that anyways. But more importantly he used an old scrub sponge ( the purple one) that should be thrown away after each person, and none of the tools (clippers, metal nail file, metal nail cleaner) were from an autoclave just his cart that was behind his workstation. I got SNS on my nails and they looked great when he was finished but I can't give more than 2 star to a place that does not clean tools like they should. The manicure and pedicure cost me about 90 bucks, so not bad. Although again the pedicure was lacking. Just water and sugar scrub are pretty subpar. Nonetheless, if I saw that they had started properly cleaning tool I would definitely consider going back for another hand appointment. read more

I love going here! Mickys has been under new ownership for about a year now. The new owner is amazing. They are warm and friendly. The place is always clean and well decorated. Ask for Ming or Tom. Ming is very professional and always does a great job on my sns nails and pedicures. Tom also does a great job on sns and pedicures! The first time I got my nails done here, I loved it. I love for them to get ALL of the cuticle and gunk out under the nails, especially on a pedicure. This visit, I felt like they were almost afraid to touch me. Their touch was feather light. I like my nail techs like I like my masseuses, rough! I don't want to be in pain, but I want to leave knowing the job was done. The final product still looks great. The woman who did my nails shaped them nicely, and not everyone does. Best salon experience I've had in years! Went here with my mom and grandma for a girls day, we all had amazing experiences! We were chatting and laughing with our techs the whole time and they were very accommodating! DO NOT go here! Expensive and TERRIBLE customer service. I walked in for a fill, the older lady from the moment I walked in had an attitude when I asked her how much for a fill. I ask about changing the shape and she initially said $3 then as she's shaping my nail went on to say an additional $5 SMH. I told her the shape I wanted and after that it was a wrap. She was EXTREMELY RUDE and rushed the whole fill. I walked out still looking like I needed a fill pretty much and DID NOT TIP her old ass! PERIOD. read more

The gentleman and younger woman there are awesome. The older woman is nasty, rude, rough, aggressive and incredibly unprofessional! DO NOT let her do your nails. I've had a great experience every time I've went here and dealt with the other two. I hate to give the place a bad review because of one employee but she is really that awful. She will be sure that you are incredibly uncomfortable the whole time she is doing your nails (if you don't do what she suggests) she completely refused to use the polish I wanted and now my nails look terrible. I'm not sure why I even paid for it. She was horrible both times I've dealt with her but this last one takes the cake! She completely ruined the place for me. This business was so unprofessional and very discriminative towards my mother and I. On March 13, 2018, one of their employees dropped a glass bottle of nail polish as my mother was giving the nail tech the polishes, which crashed on the floor and a piece hit my mother. No one was concerned about my mom; I had to ask my mom if she was ok, and then the male owner, David, followed up and asked if she was ok. The male nail technician showed somewhat empathy, but the older female nail technician, Micky, was very mean and kept staring at us with mean facial expressions. The focus was exclusively on the broken nail bottle and not my mother. Micky, the older nail tech, moreover, gave my mother a very mean look when my mom walked away and shook her head behind my mother's back before talking in her language to her colleagues. Then, while the nail tech that gave my mom a mean look, Micky, started doing my mom's pedicure, she began publicly criticizing my mom's feet out loud in front of customers and I , saying that she must have "full blown diabetes" and that "her toe nails are in bad shape with cracks in each toe nail." My mother was very embarrassed and sad at this moment. My mom told the lady, Micky, that it's not diabetes; rather, it comes from standing on her feet working on retail for 36 years. The mail tech repeated herself and said she knows what diabetes looks like. My mom became very sad at this moment as the nail tech quickly completed the incomplete pedicure, even though we requested the Spa treatment. As soon as a White woman came in to have a pedicure done, the nail tech, Micky, quickly switched to the White lady and greeted her with smiles, pleasant conversations, and spent a quality, long amount of time on her feet. This was totally opposite of how she treated my mother who is an African American elder. I spent $102.00 on my mom and my manicures and pedicures, but I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau today. No minority, no elder, should ever be treated the way my mom and I were treated yesterday. This was our first time coming to Micky's under new management--and it was the worst treatment we've ever received or witnessed in Fredericksburg. As an update, today, March 14, 2018, my mother and I went back to Micky's Nail shop after discovering nail polish spilled on my mom's sneakers from the incident yesterday. I spoke to David regarding the aforementioned and the damage done to my mother's sneakers, which I physically showed him. I was flabbergasted when he raised his voice and said it's not their fought and to "sue them if I want to." I never even mentioned suing, but he automatically said this with an aggressive tone. I couldn't believe his reaction, for he didn't even acknowledge nor apologize for what happened yesterday. I response, I continued to keep a low tone as I politely asked for his business card and their names to seek further counseling regarding this matter. Again, we have never experienced such unprofessional and discriminative treatment at any business in the city of Fredericksburg. I hope no one ever experiences what we experienced today and yesterday. I've been coming here almost exclusively for two years, since my husband bought me a gift certificate for Xmas 2016. Micky, David and the young woman who works for them are all prompt, pleasant and professional. I think they do some of the best nail work in the area, based on comparisons with maybe a half-dozen other Fredericksburg salons. I am never disappointed, but I believe if I ever was and let them know about it, they would make it right. Came here with my cousin, she got a mani/pedi while I got a gel fill and gel polish. The experience could have been better. The employees although work quickly the quality is not the greatest. My gel fill did not cover all my nails all the way, also my previous color was still visible after new gel polish was put on, employee stated that the color was too difficult to remove. Although she tried to fix it, the result is not what I wanted although the shape and color is beautiful still was not happy. She gave me $5 off for the trouble. I have been coming here for several months now and I am not disappointed. I was concerned because I had read the reviews prior to my first visit but it seems like I had gone to about 10 other nail salons around the area and they all sucked. I keep coming back here because when they do my nails it lasts anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks (gel). The foot massage could last a little bit longer but overall they're very friendly. I myself are a minority so I did not feel any discrimination like someone said in a previous review. A really good thing they did recently was when I messed up my nail, chipped a little bit of it I went back to get them re-polished and they did not charge me at all to do that, very sweet of them. read more

Decided to come up here on a whim since my mother and I were looking for a place to get a pedicure nearby. Apparently when you want to find a nail place it's hard to find one. Its been a while since I've been to a regular nail salon, rather than a more upscale establishment. I don't know of its due to the day of the week or time of day, but there was only one woman working. We actually thought they were closed, but the door was stuck. She set us both up and got to work on my mother first and then myself. She's pretty quick as I think it took my mother about 30min and I'm probably going to be the same. Unfortunately due to only having one person working really cuts into their sales since a couple of women kept coming in to see how long it was going to be before she could be seen (she was a little rude actually). A nicer woman came in and stayed so I think she'll be seen before the rude lady. In all, this place will do in a pinch....but if I can find better or more staffed I'll go there first. read more

I've been here several times over the years and this place has recently reopened under new management. Just got a pedicure here and I will never go back. I went in with gel polish and opted to get a regular pedicure because I thought the gel polish was priced high. They wanted to charge $20 in addition to a $25 dollar pedicure. I live in Cali and there it's only $10 extra. I understand some areas the demand/price can go up or down but 20 just for a different polish? Cmon. I could have gotten past that until I went to pay and they charged me another 5 dollars for gel removal and another five for I couldn't figure out what so 35 total . I was NOT told ahead of time about those charges. The pedicure was just okay. Minimal leg massage. WILL NOT be returning. And I'm not the kind of person to give people a hard time or write bad reviews, but this just sucked. I even still gave the girl a tip . The manager/owner was there and all he did was reiterate the charges. No apology, barely made eye contact. Horrible customer service. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else. read more

The pedicures are horrible not worth the 25. I rather spend my money else where on a pedicure!! I hated when Mickey did my acrylic nails they always came out extremely wide( like hers). My mom and sister also said the same when she did theirs. However, I continued to go to the shop to have David do my acrylic nails bc he is the only one I can find in fburg to get my nails in the "coffin" shape. But with each visit I seen serval red flags but I ignored them bc I loved the shape of my nails. A few RED FLAGS I noticed .. whenever I would need to take acrylic nails off he would immediately go to ripping them off of my real nails!!! He also cut me with the filing machine and I did bleed but he just continued to file my nails and never tried to sanitize the work station or equipment!! Then the FINAL RED FLAG, I told him I wasn't pleased with my nails and he immediately started to argue with me and tell me why nothing was wrong with my nails. VERY POOR CUSTOMER Service!!! Then told me he could take them off and not redo them. At that point i was livid!! And refuse to ever return to that shop! read more

The first time I visited this salon I was very happy ,second time not so much.When gel is applied to the nails it is very important to cover the whole nail.she left the sides of the nails unpainted,therefore leaving an unfinished,sloppy looking job.To make matters worse when I kindly,mind you pointed this out to her,she got an attitude.I was given a bowl of acetone and left to take the polish off myself. The pedicure which I received first,she used a razor ,which she asked would that be ok to use, I agreed.What I did not agree to is when the razor popped put of its holder and on to the floor,she picked it up off the floor and and continued on like no big deal.That is a big deal and not acceptable...Just be aware of this salon,you would be much better off goin elsewhere..This is with out a doubt the worst service of any salon I have ever had, not even worthy of one star...TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
