So I came to get my duvet and cover washed. Turn around for this is 4 days. It was on the more expensive side. The lady at the front helping me didn't speak very well English and it got extremely difficult to communicate. The gentleman took over helped me. One of the major reasons is that it's run by a guy and a few gals who are about as real as they come. No pretensions - it'll never be franchised into a chain at a strip mall - but they do my laundry just great, are always open when I need, and I feel like I'm handing my money over to some people who buy groceries, not BMWs and suits from New York. So, if what you want is to stop for a minute and talk to the guy who runs the business, and then hear about the clerk's new baby when she rings you up, then this place if for you. I've been using them for 20 years, since before they were sold to the present owner. Under the new ownership, they have lost several dry-cleaning items. I have 4 pair of cotton work slacks - gray, brown, blue, & tan. Two disappeared. I have 2 pair of summer weight wool slacks - black & tan. Tan disappeared. No offer of compensation. They will just keep looking. So, I'm done. I understand things happen. The old owners lost things occasionally but after a week told me to buy new and they'd credit my account. I live down the street from these cleaners. For about a year I used them quite frequently and tolerated lots of mistakes including odd creases in a pressed suit and items not being ready on time. A few months ago I decided to ditch these guys for good when I went to pick up a simple shirt, and sure enough it wasn't ready. This was on a Friday and I needed it for the weekend and I was told to come back Monday to talk to the manager. Sure enough I went back the next week and it had not been found. After a week badgering them with phone calls, they eventually found it and promised me they would put a credit on my account since I had already paid for it. Sure enough I went back a few weeks later and not only was there no credit on my account, but the manager denied ever making such a promise. Don't waste your time or money with these guys. Poor job of cleaning and horrible customer service. If you take anything there, it may be damaged or lost. read more

Ok, this place is the best. When I moved to Land Park, I had to search for a new drycleaner. First, I went to Swanson's, which reportedly closes at 6:00 PM. That's too early as it is. But, I arrived at 5:55 PM and found the door locked. The angry-looking older Asian lady inside said, "Closed! Closed! " and pointed at her watch. I then pointed to the clock on the wall in Swanson's that said 5:55, and she non-verbally told me they were closed anyway with a dismissive hand gesture. So, I moved on down the stree to a nondescript-looking little place at the gore-point of the Y created by the intersections of 21st, 19th, and Freeport. I walked in and immeditaley noticed that they didn't have a bunch of crap like electric sweater shavers, button extenders, etc on sale. They were set up to do one thing. Cleaning. And, that's why I was there. I was greeted with a big smile by the employee, and she and the other employees have continued to greet me with big smiles for the six years that have passed since my first visit. They know my name, and know my family, and I think they know our cars They must see us pull in, because most of the time, my stuff is hanging there ready for me by the time I get out of the car. How do they do that? Amazing. And, the best part is that they do a fantastic job cleaning. Everything is perfect and always on time. If you are in or near the Land Park area, you are freakin crazy if you go to a different drycleaner. These people are great. read more

I've been going here for three years and the last 10 or so times I've picked up my clothes no spots have been removed. I get if it's a permanent stain and nothing can be done... but some of them I know what they were, and know I could have washed them but chose to be lazy and take them in. I even have shirts I picked up, found the spots still there, and washed them myself.... poof! Spot is gone. They are not particularly cheap either. Not the most expensive, but definitely not the cheapest. I rarely get out of there for under $50. I am very disappointed because I'd rather not move my business! I like going there, I have a rhythm going and their hours are great. But I know I have to move my business because it does me no good to pay to have my clothes cleaned when they come back steamed and ironed with spots still on them. Was in Sacramento for just a day and needed to get a bunch of items dry cleaned same-day. Freeport was open at 8am and answered the phone (they were the 6th I called and not everyone would answer). They said they could do same-day turnaround ready to go by 3pm no less! I dropped off a dozen items and they were ready on-time and were excellently cleaned. However, when poor service and improper cleaning or worse returning damaged property occurs one has to pause and ask where is the care one expects for customer items. After reading the posts on Yelp for dry cleaners near Land Park I found this one. The reviews were great, and sounded like they had wonderful customer service. I always try to give my business to business that deserve it. When I dropped off my clothing to be cleaned the lady behind the counter was very kind and helpful. She even quoted me $1.50 for pressing already cleaned shirts that I was just too plain lazy to do myself. Apparently they do not normally allow for shirts to be pressed only without being cleaned as the shirts have to be wet to do so. But she made an exception and charged me less since that was kind of why I went there in the first place. When I came to pick up my dry cleaning. The same lady was behind the counter and she stated the Manager (Or was it the Owner?) said that he could not press for the price she quoted me and he told her to charge me double the price for each shirt. As he already pressed them and assumed I'd just pay the difference. That is pretty crappy business if you ask me. Tell the customer one price then charge them another when they come to pick up their clothes? Not cool at all. My boyfriend and I spoke with the lady behind the counter and expressed our frustration and that we would never be back after such poor customer service. She was very kind, and apologetic. After all there was nothing she could do, which I totally understand. The Manager/Owner should have stood behind his employee for quoting me a lower price, and then when I picked up the clothes she could have told me that the next time it would cost more. That would have been fine. I would have come back too. But instead the Manger/Owner decided to change the prices on his customer after the work was done. He probably made an extra $7 bucks by doing so, but he lost a few customers. Not to mention he got a bad review on Yelp and will lose more future customers. My boyfriend gave the lady behind the counter his card and told her that if the owner/manager wanted to call to make amends we'd love to speak with him. No call. Apparently they don't think customer service is very important. Oh, and the best part of it all. I asked for a price list (since there isn't one posted anywhere), and she stated they don't have one since the prices change. I have 2 pairs of dockers i wanted to get washed and pressed. It has been a while since I have taken cloths to a cleaners. Freeport Cleaners is close so i took them there. They cheerfully took my 2 pants and gave me my receipt. total price $6.50 When I picked them up I was charged $13.00 I asked why and was told after I left they realized their mistake. They did not have their prices displayed so how was I to know? They should have called me and told me before they did the work. They took ME to the cleaners and kept my money. but it doesn't end there. When they pressed one of the pants correctly with the crease in the middle of the legs between the seams. But on the second pair they put the crease on the seams!! My pant leg looked completely flat. When I pointed this out to the lady she said "oh, you want a crease?". Beware, if they make a mistake they will charge you for it. My experience with them is that they cheated me and did a bad job 100% of the time. read more

Needed dry cleaning by Saturday, so dropped it off Wednesday morning. Was assured it would be ready by Friday afternoon. Called to confirm on Thursday, told again that it would be ready by Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon rolls around and I think you can guess from the above rating as to whether or it was ready. Went out and bought a new shirt, so I guess I have that going for me, which is nice. Quality of the dry cleaning (not done on site) was average to good. First time I've ever gone to the place. I'm afraid of dry cleaners, personally. My clothes and wallet are always at risk it seems, so I tried this place based on yelp reviews.... The location is convenient for where i live. When i arrived, the girl behind the counter spoke very clearly and told me in advance how much everything would cost. WOW! That never happens at dry cleaners! I always feel shafted and surprised when i pick up my clothes and see the bill. I've had rampages over dry cleaning bills before. Honestly, the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because its a bit expensive. $9.50 to have a dress pressed, and i had two, so that's already a good chunk of the bill+. And she explained that women's button down shirts (nearly identical to mens) cost more because they don't fit the press and have to be ironed by hand, which sucks for me because low and behold, i am a woman. But you know what? To be honest, the $64 bill for 2 dresses, a few blouses, a few sweaters, and a men's shirt didn't hurt that bad BECAUSE she told me in advance how much it would cost! EVEN BETTER: when i picked up my stuff this morning (quoted price in hand - remember fear of the dry cleaning shaft) the guy was like "I've never seen you here before - $10 off!" You are correct mister manager, this is my first time! He must know everyone - that's awesome. So i ended up paying $54. I want to return, i really do, but I'm a penny pincher when it comes to dry cleaning. I have to thoroughly inspect every precious item before i can decide if its worth the $. But i couldn't have asked for better customer service, which in my experience is really uncommon at the cleaners. read more
