Skylight installed in dining room, finish and texture match existing walls perfectly!

They did a fantastic job installing a skylight in our dining room. The finish and look matches the room like it's always been there, and I can't think of a higher complement for the work they did. We will consider them for any future skylights or window replacements!

1). Josh did a great job: listening to what I envisioned, the measurements, quote and my technical questions about the energy efficiency of the windows. I felt comfortable with the purchase. 2). Good communication about the schedule from the office. 3). Windows arrived ahead of schedule and fit perfectly. 4). The install team was spot on. a). They respected my request to mask up when inside the house. My wife is COVID susceptible due to lung issues. I really appreciated that. b) They did a great job taking out the old windows. The contractor we used for another job left large pieces of broken glass that were dangerous to our dogs. These guys had a system that was well thought out. 5) The windows are great, good looking as expected (from the work we did with the salesman) and you can already feel the efficiency benefit by the way the room feels. I will use them when I replace my front windows.

They also provided this beautiful walnut door.

Enclosed Back Patio Quick background - We have had a…read morescreened-in patio since moving into our house in 1983. In 2001, we replaced much of the wood and installed a 28" slab wall. My wife fabricated the screens. The last improvement was made in 2011, when we had heavy screens fabricated with eyelets and attached them with cap screws. After all these years, we decided to make this a functional room year-round instead of Mar - May/Oct - Dec. As we know, it is always easier to build new than to reconstruct. It's a 200 sq. ft. space with good wood, foundation, etc. We went out for three quotes, including Desert King Windows, which we had replaced all our windows with back in 2010. They came in as the best price, but what was most appealing was how straightforward it all was. It was not a simple project. We required to not have any wood showing other than the very top. It was explained how they would foil wrap the beams and ledge. We were given options for the windows and doors with no price haggling. Since they were our last quote, we were satisfied to advise on the spot that we wanted them to do the project. Days later, Johnny came over for exact measurements, to engineer the project in terms of how many windows, which beams would be removed/moved, exactly how the foil would be placed and installed, and the like. A few days after that, the owner, Jayson, came by with Johnny and the sales rep, Don, to give a final look over and to make sure we were "all on the same page" before the order was submitted for fabrication. The project was scheduled for 6-8 weeks, which occurred. It was expected to take three days, but the crew led by Jose finished it up in two long days. My wife, who has had a complete bathroom remodel redone, was extremely happy (this was her ideal and project), which is telling. I have attached before (after the screens were removed) and after pics, which show the transformation. Oh - and to be able to use this year-round - we added a mini split, and thus far, with the type of windows and doors, it hardly needs to run to keep it cool. Yes, we still have the real summer to evaluate it out.

Don and Justin were both very helpful with selecting the right door at a fair price, and getting exact measurements for the work. Mike and Cindy did a fantastic job installing the product and were very kind and informative about our new window/door. I highly recommend using Desert King Windows for your next job.

In addition, there was gap at the bottom and side of the fire-rated door when installed. I had requested a new door to be installed due to the damage and poor installation job. Rather than order a new door, of which the vendor, Trustile, should have replaced free of charge since it arrived damaged, it was "repaired". The repair job is still poor and you can tell there was damage. Even though painting the fire-rated door might "fix" this, I shouldn't have to first sand it myself and prime the area to make it right. And when the threshold at the bottom was adjusted, there still was a slight gap and had to request to be readjusted again, I double checked this time before the installation manager left. The sales and installation manager were nice, but the the customer service on how to remedy a damaged door was not very good, especially for the price of a custom made new door. I will not be using them for any future projects and do not recommend them. Edit to review 2/21/23: After speaking with the business manager, was able to resolve the issue with the damaged door. Another individual, who was noted to have many years woodworking experience, came to repair the damage on the door properly, and sanded and primed the area too. The results are much better and acceptable versus the prior repair attempt. Cal is amazing and did a great job. I also appreciate the response and communication from the manager as well as a call from a TruStile representative. My original review has been revised from 1 star to 3 stars. Edit 2/25/23: It appears the adjustable threshold was not installed properly as there is now a gap at the bottom right. Seems like the adjustment did not hold, not sure what happened, looks like the right side is depressed. Another issue of workmanship on the either the original installation or repair. Back to 1 star and waiting to hear back from the business manager. This will be the third attempt on getting the install on this door correct and up to standards.

The proprietor, Matt, and I agreed upon a price, and was told he'd take measurements before installation. Since then, I've received texts about unexpected delays, both professional and personal, with assurances that the windows will indeed be installed once all these events subside. From March through June, I followed up and followed up, only to receive excuses/explanations about this or that unforeseen event that hasn't allowed him to complete installation, but not to worry, it will get done. After four months of unfilled promises, three days ago I finally texted him to ask if the job was going to get done at all. I just need an answer one way or the other so I can plan on how to proceed and if I need to contact another company. This time there were no excuses/explanations...he simply ghosted me. After all this time, I get neither an installation nor even the courtesy of a phone call to explain why. To string a customer along for four months to ultimately just ignore him, that's no way to do business. The only reason I left two stars instead of one is the few times I actually spoke to Matt, he was polite. So, I give him a star for that. But he sure didn't fulfill his promise, and there's no reason to treat customers this way.

I needed a day/time pinned down so I asked for more specifics. We settled on the day and time. When the day arrived he wrote early saying he had car trouble and other work to do and had to cancel. He said he would follow up with us the following week . The week goes by and no contact. This is not a good way to conduct business. By then I decided to contact another contractor who was available and interested. The work has been completed by another contractor.
