Great home cooking comfort food. We were too full for dessert but when we saw the case, they all looked so good. There is a baklava cheesecake! Waitstaff was great. I know it's been here for a while but I thought it was just breakfast and lunch. People keep saying it's great. We had no idea there was a dinner menu. We will be back! Update: we have come back several times in the past few weeks. It just keeps getting better. Always great food and service. A new favorite is the pot roast sandwich! My son says this is his favorite sandwich ever! They also have a good Cuban. Donuts and muffins are made in house and are delicious. Very good about food allergies.

I observed several patrons picking up orders of what might've been pastries. The size of the dining area does not allow for a lot of customers & it gets busy fast even on a very early Saturday morning. I had the biscuits & gravy with loaded hash. It was 'okay' & I brought the leftovers home. My husband loved their 'Kitchen Sink' omelet. Same thing, he had to bring home the leftovers.

The dining room is bright and vast. It was an all around great dining experience. After dinner we moved to the tavern side and ordered drinks and listened to the live music. You might think 5 min...there was only 3 tables with customers. Once seated it was another 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Drinks , appetizers came out in a timely manner. As fro the main courses a different story. Both my wife and son ordered steak fritz with chimmichuri on top. We waited for over 25 minutes too get an over cooked dry slab of meat. It looked like the steaks were set under heat lamps waiting for the waitress to get the food and deliver. My son could see into the kitchen where the 2 waitresses were discussing something very important with the chef and not getting food out the door. 25 min to get our meals. To top it off there was NO chimmichuri to be found on the beef or on the side. Unfortunately the waitress never checked back so we couldn't have her go to the kitchen and get some. Extremely disappointed!! We actually had to go find our waitress to get our check. I really think 1.5 stars but you can't. Maybe next time we try the bar but reading some of the reviews maybe not. Sad to say....

That said, the coffee, food, and service are worth it! There are two seating rooms and one of them opens out to restrooms and a very small shopping/business mall. The tables and chairs are thick, heavy, rustic wood reminiscent of a country kitchen, and the acoustics are pretty good! No echoes or a need to yell to friends or family at your own table. The service is stellar! Lots of students work here and they are top notch. The food is outstanding. Their hash browns are literally the best I have ever had. They are wispy and crispy, and will not leave grease on your plate or in your belly. The eggs are always perfect, no matter how you ask for them, and the pancakes are the best you can get without making them yourself at home. They are served with a syrup, but for $2.00 extra (at the time of this posting), you can get real maple syrup instead. By the way, their coffee is not limited to regular and decaf. There is a delightful coffee drinks menu for options to enjoy at your table or to go! Tucker's also does take out, so you really have not excuse to miss this delightful place.

I don't think we chose the right item as the sauce was broken. The eggs undercooked and The ham hard and not tasty. The the English muffin wasn't toasted or grilled. It seemed to be uncooked. I arrived at Logan on a Thursday morning and my family picked me up and brought me here around 8AM. It was the Fourth of July so it was pretty busy at the diner but the staff were very kind, very quick at providing drinks, and gave us time to look over the menu and place our order. This was my first time eating here so when I saw Country Fried steak on the menu I knew I needed to give it a try. The plate was practically on fire when it was served so after giving it 30 seconds I couldn't help but dig in and I absolutely loved this meal. The country fried steak tasted exactly how I thought a small town country fried steak would taste and the same goes for the toast, potatoes, and eggs I had on the side. Was it the absolute best I've ever eaten? No, but sometimes all you want is exactly what they give you and that's exactly what the case was here. On top of the food being good, this place was decorated in Northwood history while the front end sold bread and baked goods that were made locally, what else could you ask for? Overall, a big thumbs up for the Northwood Diner. The friendly staff, tasty food, and small town charm this diner offers is everything I sometimes miss about living in New England.
