I took my KTM 1190R to Freedom in Grandview; I took mine, which I owned from new, for its 21k service. The bike was service was over 2k, including repairs to the rear brake. Got the bike back, and it immediately began throwing repair codes. I took it back, and they cleared the codes and said nothing was wrong. Took the bike, and it made it home. The next time it did the same thing, and for nearly 2 years I kept having to take it back to get it checked because of it throwing codes. I had to leave for a long period, and the bike was stored for 2 years. Came back, and the 1st time I rode it, it started throwing a code, and throttle response kept acting funny. Took it to a different dealer, and they said the only thing they could see was a voltage variation, but not enough to cause the bike to stall. I rode it back to Freedom; they had it for 5 months and said they could not reproduce the issue I described. When I went to pick it up, it would not start. They now say it is the fuel pump, and the brake issue they said they fixed is still there. They also say the whole master cylinder needs to be replaced. They are charging full price for the Fuel Pump and want another 1k for the Brakes. Has anyone with a 1190R had a Experience like this? read more

I said I'll ride it in the parking lot, and still they wanted my social security to also make sure I'm a qualified buyer for a $2,ooo motorcycle. Called service to see about getting chain adjustment bolt removed as I needed to replace sprockets and chain, was told no problem bring bike in, ended up getting charged $140 for diagnostic on top of the repair, diagnostic was I needed to remove bolt and replace chain and sprockets which that was known before the phone call, the bike did have a few other issues that I was aware of but none of that was mentioned so apparently the bike was never looked over, when asked was told each issue the bike has there is $140 diagnostic charge for each issue. read more

I've used Freedom Cycles service a few times already since getting my bike earlier this year. A friend had referred them to me and since I hadn't worked with any shop in town yet I gave them a try. They've done some basic servicing, a recall fix and added some accessories. Garrett in the Service Dept and his team always communicated well and delivered great work and a fair price. He even spotted that my bike was missing a couple bolts in the tail guard. They didn't have the right bolts to replace them at the time. But he said he'd get some in and just install them the next time I dropped the bike off for servicing. I did later go back for some work and I'd totally forgotten about the bolts. But after they'd completed the latest work, I was about to leave when I recalled the bolts. Sure enough Garrett had remembered the issue and had already installed the new bolts he'd ordered for me. Service Department - would give a zero if I could. Made arrangements to drop off 1996 Polaris SLT 780 wave runner in early February for a March 1st drop off. Spent about 20 minutes discussing what was wrong with it and everything that I'd like them to look at prior to setting up the appointment. Drove 2.5 hours to Stockton, MO & 3 hours back ONLY TO BE TOLD we don't work on them by the service manager. They have known for weeks that the wave runner was coming in but NO COURTESY CALL to inform me they won't work on it, BEFORE SPENDING 5.5 hours on the road. Service manager SHOULD BE AWARE of what his service department has inbound for the week and should have called me to let me know they won't work on it! read more

I've never had any complaints about this dealership until now. I took my ATV in last Saturday for a battery change and in the process of doing it the technician broke my cable line to the brakes. Not only were they unable to fix it right away they had to order the parts and I had to wait until Thursday for it to be ready. Oh there were apologies but no compensation for the fact that four of my five vacation days have been wasted and I guess I should consider myself lucky they said the repair on the brake was no charge. No store credits were offered, not even a discount on the labor which actually caused the damage to my brake lines. Lori who works in the service department goes above and beyond so it's not all bad but I think they've lost a customer. read more

Wow! The service department is outrageous. First they give every reason possible not to look into whether defective parts are covered under warranty, then say they don't know how to find a part but could call the Suzuki rep (um yes good idea if you don't know, why is this even a question) and then falsely inflate the price to change a 10 inch rim/wheel to $500!! All within 6 months of purchase. Also don't expect any respect if you are a woman. Expect to have them laugh in your face, do nothing, give you the run around, and then try to give an outrageous estimate for daring to ask for something simple to be repaired. Garrett and his immature service team were so disrespectful and dismissive. It came to the point I asked, this is the place you bring bikes to be fixed, right? They should not advertise themselves as a Suzuki dealer because they do not want to follow through with warranty service and repairs for them. They do t even want to check with Suzuki on how to get parts. I'm just a mom trying to get a 50cc dirt bike wheel repaired For my son. Not a very good experience a few years back. My friend brought in a Harley for possible trade, we had brought it in a pickup because we had driven a long distance. He decided not to buy. We had a terrible time getting them to let us bring "his" bike back outside because it was in the shop area, where they evaluated it for trade. I t was about time to close and they wanted us to come back tomorrow. We had to leave without the bike. I would never buy anything here. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

I'd rate this dealership as average. I bought a new Kawasaki Concours here a few years back. On the plus side, they've expanded their showroom considerably and have a lot of indoor space now. Very nice. The bike selection on display is pretty extensive and they have a decent gear selection now as well. Where they fall flat is on the sales floor. There are basically two kinds of motorcycle dealers. First is the place like Engle's off Truman and 435. This is a place where everyone rides, everyone is there because they live and breathe what they sell. You can shop there all day without being pressured to buy...the guys are there because they are into bikes. Second is the place like Freedom. Now these guys probably ride too, sure. But if you're in browsing, a salesperson is asking you if you need help every 30 seconds. You can't just casually browse around without being bothered constantly being "sold". It feels like a car dealership to me, rather than a bike shop, if you get what I mean. If you ride, you probably do. read more

I recently purchased a used Motorcycle from Freedom and will never do business with them again. The sales person who I dealt with knew almost nothing about the Motorcycle when I asked questions. I tried to negotiate when they asked how much I was going to put down and I said all of it. They would not even come down $57 dollars to make the dollar amount an even $00. The Motorcycle was dirty and had Bird poop on it. One of the sales people congratulated me on my new purchase and told me "Some of the guys been riding it home at night and they said they all liked it". I felt like I was at Hard Up Harry's dealing with these guys. I can clean Bird poop and I can wash the bike like they should have done so I writing this to tell you that these guys as a dealership flat out suck. read more

I have been here several times in the past just looking around but Saturday I was looking for some help and wanting to shop. It was a beautiful day so I had the bike out and with an up coming road trip planned and new fairing just installed I was looking for a windshield bag. I knew they usually carried a large selection of accessories so I stopped in to take a look. I was greeted by a young man named Derek who worked in parts, he was very pleasant. Derek showed me where all the luggage items were. When we weren't able to find what I was looking for he walked outside with me to get a look at my bike before we started looking for options in catalogs. We didn't seem to be having much luck and he was then paged stating he had a call. I knew we had hit a dead end and I didn't want to take up anymore of his time, he had already been so kind and helpful. I thanked him for his time and told him I would check with him later if I had any other questions. Well I wasn't able to find my windshield bag but I still needed some new riding glasses. I then walked over to the sunglass display, not really seeing what I was looking for I approached the parts desk to ask for help. This is where everything seemed to go south. I was met by a female sales associate I think her name may have been Amanda. I asked her if they had any sunglasses with transition lenses. I followed her to a display case that had several different styles of riding glasses. I then began asking about the difference brand's and styles. Well needless to say she was clueless. I then proceeded to ask to try on some. OMG what was I thinking she had to go find the key to the case. My daughter was getting pretty bored by this time and went to look at shirts. Finally we have the case open and begin looking at the glasses. I'm trying on different styles and asking questions, assuming this young lady knows what she is selling, nope. The only information she is able to provide I can see on the tags. I finally find a pair I think I will be happy with but I want to see how they are in the sunlight so we go outside. By this time I am ready to just get my purchase made and leave. We are now checking out and she begins to ring up my purchases. We get to the shirt my daughter has picked out, we got it off a rack marked clearance so when it rang up full price I questioned it. I offered to show her where we found it, as she rolled her eyes and huffed following me across the store she says "that's where it should of been" pointing to some folded shirts on a table. Meanwhile I'm trying to show her the rack where it was "hanging, not folded." A few eye rolls later we finally complete our transaction. I took my sunglasses out of the bag and begin taking the tags and plastic off the lenses when I noticed a spot on one if the lenses. I began to wipe them with the cleaning cloth that came with them. I could see that there was what looked like a chip in the lens. I pointed it out to her since I had just paid dearly for them and I had not yet left the counter. With her hands on her hips and an exasperated look on her face she says to me "did you scratch them." Needless to say by this time I was getting rather furious with this young lady. She finally goes over to the case and gets me another pair. At this point I'm sure nit leaving until I'm sure this pair is ok. So I asked her to watch as I took the cloth out of the case and carefully removed the stickers from the lenses, and wouldn't you know it the same thing. At this point my patience are wearing thin and I now have to try and pick out a different pair of glasses. When I finally pick out a pair and make sure everything was good I asked if they came with a bag or case since everything else in the case did and all she handed me was a pair of sunglasses and an empty box. Keep in mind I have my teenage daughter with me and am trying to be polite. She then reaches back to the display case and grabs a bag and says "fine take this one." Seriously? I was just about to give this girl a lesson in customer service when Derek the first person I had dealt with came up and saw what was going on and began to help. Like I mentioned before I've shopped there before and never had any issues, but after this experience forget it. I have worked in sales and the 2 most important things your taught are know your product and the customer is always right! Came here today with my friends for customer appreciation day and what I thought was going to be awesome event turn out to be blah and more blah. I knew something was off right when we pulled in the parking lot, no music, no tents, no nothing just a lonely gas grill cooking hot dogs and not the plump delicious ones either, cans of soda and small bag's of chips with a jar for donations. I particularly am not a freedom cycle fan, their sale's staff is a tad to pushy for my liking and that steers me right out the door and down the road. They do carry a wide variety of motorized products on hand but with some many products and such a big building there's a lot of over head and some products seemed kind of high to some of my smartphone pricing research as we were looking the vehicle's over and wishing to own it. All I can say is this, next time you are going to do a customer application day, break out the tents, the music the vendors and bring some good food and drinks to keep your customers there to spend money at your store. read more

This place really is hit or miss. Some days I get really really good service, other days the service leaves a lot to be desired. The girl at the parts counter is very knowledgeable - for the most part. Sometimes when I come at her with an oddball scooter part number it takes a few minutes to get it straightened out but so far I have not had a problem getting the parts delivered. My only real complaints are sometimes the people on the phone a rather short with me when I'm trying to find out about the status of an order. And I really hate the fact that I can't just pick up the phone and have a part ordered without pre-paying for it. So I came here to look for a motorcycle and when I got here they had closed the sale room to appointments only due to covid 19 which is fair but when I come and say I'm just looking for a bike I have 2 harleys and I'm looking to maybe get in something else I would like to go look at the bikes right see if there's something I like . Instead the sales man looks at me like I'm dumb and insists I tell him what I'm looking for as if I'm supposed to know the inventory off the top of my head. Moving beyond that I finally asked about a victory I had seen of Facebook and he brings it outside for me to look at it was overpriced and since I couldn't go look at the floor I have no clue if there was a bike there I would like. I then tell him I would be trading in my Harley and he says that's it's worth next to nothing before I even tell him what my bike is or anything about it. I told Him what 6 other dealerships have showed me off there NADA book and he gives me another stare like I'm a idiot . So I wouldn't personally suggest ever going to this joke of a dealership and after looking it up online it seems many others have had the same shitty experience as I have had . I bought a 08 Suzuki LTZ 400 from them 2 and a half months ago has been in the shop for the past month and just recently picked it up from them in pieces. They kept telling me it was rider error due to mud on the piston. After bringing it into my shop where I work to have a closer look what they thought was mud happens to be sand. Tells me this quad has been swapped by the previous owner. Obviously this company does not know how to inspect and ask proper questions and obviously doesn't know the difference between sand and mud. I will never go back to this company. The salesman are very pushy and rude. I also called them and asked for a general manager and was told there was no general manager in that!! Don't you just love being lied too!? These people are crooks and I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM HERE!!! read more

Terrible reviews everywhere, but nobody seems to be talking about the service, which is just fine. Had my Goldwing serviced there for 7 years. No problems, ever. Prices are decent, same as any other shop. Big stash of factory parts. Service staff works really hard and has always taken good care of me. Didn't buy the bike there, and my only contact with sales has been chatting while killing time, when the bike's being serviced. Very professional staff in all departments, has been my impression. But parts and service are all I know for sure, and I'll keep taking mine there for as long as I have it. read more

Recently bought a bike from them. Had a great experience. The sales representative wasn't pushy at all. We even went to have lunch in the middle of negotiations and they said the bike would be waiting for when we got back. They even changed the rear tire and battery with with new ones before we left. I bought a passenger back rest for my Kawasaki Vaquero from Freedom which by itself is overpriced but that is from Kawasaki so they sold it at the market price and I assumed the labor on install would be under $100 since it didn't look to be that difficult. Freedom Cycles quoted me $300 to do the install because they claimed it took 3 hours of labor. I said hell no and decided that I would do the install myself. They had a tech out there so I asked about the install and he went on to tell me how hard it was to get the saddle bags off and all this to justify the three hours of labor. My brother in law and I did the job in 45 minutes and if I had the tools and shop that they do and had done this job before it could easily be done in less than 30 mins. Since then just to see if I'm crazy and to gage their reasonableness I have had other shops quote me a price on the install and every shop has quoted me $80-100. I was so put off by Freedom's price gouging and dishonestly that I have not stepped foot back in there again. I emailed them to let them know how put off I was and they didn't have much to say. Which is sad because if you are not a Harley guy this is the biggest shop in the area with the most inventory for parts and bikes At least this is the internet age and I can order just about everything they sell on my own and not get gouged. read more

I told Scott in service I was very unhappy and I would eventually post a review expressing my discontent- this one's for you Scott. My wench rope broke on the aftermarket plow I bought from them when I bought my Rancher. They claimed because it was aftermarket they would not warranty it and it was misused. It was first snow; and it was not. My point is that a business has a responsibility to stand behind products they sell. He wasnt the best at customer service, he wasnt the worst. I will be buying a Foreman this spring--from a different dealer so I hope the 120$ or so was worth the bad pub and loss of business. Also noteworthy was the salesman that called every five minutes after my initial inquiry that ended up getting my business didn't even talk to me or shake my hand when I came to pick the four wheeler up- bad look. Cannot remember his name; lucky him but he also fibbed about interest rates. The lady that delivered it to me was very nice though. I am usually greeted by everyone in the store, but this did not happen yesterday! I went to parts to make a purchase and the person at parts was talking to another customer. I wasn't told hello or I'll be right with you or anything. He went to the back with the customer and another person walked by asked if anyone was helping me. I stated no. I was getting more aggravated by the moment! The same person came back out asked who was next and before I could say anything another customer jumped in. At that point I was so fed up stated that I was the next person in line & wanted to make a purchase and walked away to find my other purchases myself. He had raised his voice stating that he didn't realize I needed help, no apologizes. I ended up only buying a small item from someone else at the store. I never had experience like that before & don't plan on going back anytime soon! read more

The following review is in my opinion: They are fine when they are chasing the sale. There was one young fine man that was courteous and willing to help. Unfortunately, it was not the employee that I had to deal with the most. He was defensive when confronted, he liked to eat during business transactions. They make promises they have no intention of fulfilling. Maggie in the business office is a rude piece of work. She talks out of both sides of her mouth. Why would somebody play three card Monty with small amounts of money. I suppose that might add up. Go ahead buy something, they will keep coming at you. How bout something special in a paint job? This part is more expensive, how bout that. Everybody tells me their maintenance program isn't worth squat. They'll try to sell you that and more. They will promise you your bike will be ready soon, soon is a very relative term. I don't know what to say, shop a smaller shop where they care about their customers. There are three that I've visited, they are night and day in comparison to Freedom. There is a arrogance that shows in every level of this place.
