While walking on Denman street, and we were looking for a bike rental place, we came across Freedom Bikes. Despite so many bike rental places, this one pulled me towards them because there were less people. Price wise, everywhere is same. At Freedom Bikes, we were served by two guys. They were wonderful. They picked out the bikes for us; they made sure we are comfortable. In the end, they helped us mapped out where and how to bike the loop of Stanley park. They tipped us, where we can make pit stops around the loop. I really appreciate it their tips. In the end, they hooked with a basket on the bike and helmet on our heads. 100% recommended!

    Great bikes!

My family of 3 were out of the store and on the way to our bike ride in Stanley Park in under 10 minutes.

I just had a latte but I opted for oat milk - my first time. The oat milk gave the latte a more rich flavour and I quite liked it. I was just sad that my latte was finished too quickly, perhaps because I liked it so much. People are nice there, and chatty at just the right rate. There are not a lot of seats but that's what I like about it. Keep it quiet for a gentle conversation with my friend. The wifi allows one to work a bit if they choose. I will return for more.

And what's better than a friendly bike shop? A friendly one with great coffee, food, vide and gluten free options (more than 1). As a celiac, this combo is a rare find and it's nice to eat something other than a peanut butter and seed powerball. If you need a tune up, pedals drilled out because (reasons) or advice on tires that will keep you right side up on wherever you choose to ride, I can't recommend them more. Any business can have bad days that get poor reviews, but in my experience VeloStar, staff and baristas do their best to help you with what you need.

We had re-arranged our work day to be available when he arrived, so him being late caused problems. We booked the appointment for 3 bikes (1 gold, and 2 silver service packages). The technician arrived late and advised that the bikes should take 3 hours based on the service packages we chose. An hour and half later the technician advised he was done, and appeared to be in a rush to leave. He advises that the bikes are all in great working order and nothing needs any major maintenance or to be replaced. This is not true, but that's besides the point. The services we paid for, over $600, were simply not completed properly. Careless, rushed work.

I told him that one of the shifters on my bike would not click (i.e. shift). I had previously taken the whole shifter apart, soaked it in kerosene, doused it with WD-40, reassembled it, and it still would not click. Alex pointed out that my bicycle's bell was so close to the shifter that its strap was under the shifter and causing the problem. Who knew? I expected him to charge me, but he did not, which was another bonus. Apart from making me feel stupid (which was probably an inevitable part of the process) it could not have been a better experience.
