Visiting Vegas with The Wife and Freedom Beat was in the hotel and convenient for us, especially for breakfast. I was surprised how good the food was, as sometimes hotel restaurants can get lazy since they have a captured audience. The various meals we had were great and now matter what we ordered, it was cooked nicely and very tasty. For 4 of the 5 times we ate or had a drink there, the service was nice, friendly and attentive. Once time, the gal seemed like she should have stayed home that day. Feel sorry for her if it was a bad day, but I didn't get the sense it was an ongoing deal, just an off day. Not sure why I felt that but I have a good sense about people. So, I hope she got over what was on her mind and is helping people with a smile right now! You won't be disappointed if you eat here. Go! Eat Well! Have Fun!!!

Came here on a Friday and it was not too busy but they were understaff. So service was kinda slow. There was a band playing so it was a little loud. For food, we tried their wings, fish & chips, and soup. Soup was a disappointment. The bowl was bigger than the amount of soup I got and there was barely anything there. It was definitely not worth the $10. The fish and chips were not good either. The fish was mostly batter and the fries were soggy. The saving grace was the chicken wings. Anyway, I don't think we'll be back here.

I went to the bar. Which was full at 930am. The dining room had more seating available at this time. I was greeted quick and politely. The bar tender noticed i was eyeing the Power Burrito. Letting me know the dinning room stopped serving it at 9 but the bar has it until 10. It was 9:15am. I ordered it. It came out fast and fresh. The burrito was wrapped well and was accompanied with a side of green salsa. The burrito contained scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, country potatoes and cheese. All was seasoned perfectly and the burrito was cut in half for easier consumption. The cost was about $12.

Pot Roast Sandwich

Since I was staying at the Grand, this place was pretty convenient for breakfast. Also they serve regular food all day so one day for breakfast, I had the pot roast sandwich which was delicious. The regular build your own omelet was fine, nothing super exciting. For Vegas, the prices are reasonable and the service is decent. I don't think I'd go out of my way to eat here unless I was staying at the Grand. It was good that there wasn't a huge wait.

Located in the Downtown Grand hotel, conveniently open 24/7! Breakfast items served all day. We came in for brunch, good variety on the menu from French toast pancakes, omelettes, egg dishes wide menu of adult libations as well. Service is good, hubs had typical scrambled eggs potatoes bacon and toast- ok. I got the eggs Benedict- eggs were overcooked sauce was clumpy - like it came out of a can, I would not recommend! Ambience is busy and high energy- type sports bar type. Our server, she was nice and efficient. 4 stars service, 3 stars food.

Restaurant seating was closed but ate at the bar. Same menu. Got a beer and ordered the classic burger. The Mrs just ordered a drink - she ate left over Hugo's cellar. Ha! She got a bluesy fish which is coconut/pineapple. My burger and fries was really good! Service great. Beer was so cold there was ice in it. The only weird thing was they were closing at 2pm? What???? We would come back.

This spot mixes classic American eats with a laid-back, rock 'n' roll vibe. Their BBQ brisket sandwich is everything you want it to be--smoky, cheesy, and unapologetically messy. The country fried steak is covered in rich sausage gravy and served with scrambled eggs and potatoes. And if you're aiming for balance, the fresh garden salad with cucumbers and croutons is there to keep things respectable. Breakfast is served all day on weekends, because who really eats eggs before noon anyway?

This was a pretty tasty diner. It was convenient since I was staying in the hotel where it's located. The food is good and service is usually ok. It's not usually busy so everything goes pretty quickly.

Marry me Chicken. TERRIBLY SMALL AND EXTREMELY PRICEY. I've tried the better dishes on the menu, all disappointing. Scam.

Food was DUMB expensive and microwaveable-food quality. I tried to taste the prime rib from a friend, extremely flavorless and gross... I'm talking about NO seasoning except LARD. I had the "marry me chicken" and it was the size of my palm INCLUDING THE 70% creamy sauce, while 30% was the "chicken" and two pieces of tomatoes and mushroom. Gross and sad. Not worth an hour or two of your hard earned money. Save it for a nice dinner.

Fish and chips

Food here is better than you would imagine. Ordered the Fish and Chips and were greeted with three sizable beer battered filets. Almost more than I could finish. Fries and tartar sauce were on point. Not disappointed with my choice. Wife order the prime rib. Always good and the portioned perfectly. However the reason we eat here is for the apple pie ala mode. They messed up the first one that came to the table but correctly redid it. We got it comped for their error. Live music during the time we were there.

We checked in pretty late and felt a bit of the grumbles around the belly. I ordered up two side dishes. The steamed veggies were incredibly good. For my other side dish, the onion rings were fine, but a bit on the greasy beer batter side. Freedom Beat can get very busy for weekend late morning eats. On Saturday, early evening, I heard some good live music on stage. Freedom Beat is worth the stop. The staff is quite friendly too. This is a nice, modern, and not so expensive place to satisfy your hunger.

A very convenient location inside of the Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino. They have a decent selection of food and drinks to choose from. My husband and I really enjoyed their breakfast. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly and the fruit was fresh and sweet. The staff is super friendly and nice. The ladies are very helpful even when the restaurant busy and they are short staffed. They made sure that they took care of everyone in a timely manner. We always have a few of our meals here. Plus if you get hungry you can go down stairs and get a bite to eat or something to drink. We recommend trying this restaurant.

Solid 3 stars but could easily be 5 if they PAID ATTENTION to these reviews! Went for a drink during HH on a Sat. night, bartender was disinterested in everything and had to ask 2x for a glass of water along w/our drinks. Finally got the bill after 2 drinks--he was packing up to leave, hence his dismissive attitude. Fine. Next day, went for late breakfast and server tried seating us at a booth where abs. no one else was sitting; we asked if we could sit closer to the TV was (wanted to watch the F1 race live) and she was super exasperated! No idea why, if anything it's closer to her OTHER tables= easier for servers to help everyone, duh... Finally came back w/the menus and got our order; beers came pretty fast, but no water after ALSO ordering those w/the beers. Is there a water shortage in Vegas I didn't know about?? I'm kidding, I'm also from the desert so I know water can be an issue, but usually establishments are pouring it down your throat to balance out the alcohol! Anyway, my frittata came sans the toast it was supposed to come with; had to ask the guy who actually brought it to please bring us the sourdough. He couldn't have been nicer, wish our server woman was as nice. Oh--also, before bringing us menus or taking our orders, she found it to be more important to CLEAN THE TABLES behind us where others had left! Rather than helping NEW hungry customers! Bizarre, they really need training for their staff cuz the food was actually pretty good.

Happy hour menu?

They have beverage happy hour from 2p-5p and 2a-5a; they seem to have a slim happy hour food menu for the 2p-5p.

Is this place kid friendly?

It has food and sodas and room for families to eat together but it also has a full bar and is located inside a casino. So yes kids can eat here with their families.

Is breakfast served all day?

Are brunch and the unlimited brunch and mimosas only served on Sat & Sun or can you order them any day?

It was available all days of the week when I was there

Do you still validate parking if you eat at the restaurant?

Per the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino website.......Self-parking in our garage is always complimentary for hotel guests. For non-hotel guests, we validate parking for guests who spend $25 at any of the on-property restaurants.

What time is brunch starting on sunday?

10am. Enjoy!

Do they take reservations?

They aren't that busy where you would need a reservation unless you have a large party.

Yes! We will always accomodate!

Sparrow + Wolf

When you live in Las Vegas, visiting friends frequently ask, "What's your favorite restaurant?"…read moreIt's a tough question--Vegas has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to dining. But after about eight visits, Sparrow + Wolf has become my answer. The folks at Michelin seem to agree: they recently included it in their guide. Like many of the best restaurants here, S+W is tucked into a corner of a nondescript strip mall in Chinatown, west of the Wynn. The dining room is small, dimly lit, and elegant without a hint of pretense. No tablecloths, just solid wood tables. The atmosphere feels more like a lively dinner party than a stuffy restaurant, and the focus is squarely on the food. It delivers. Chef and owner Brian Howard's approach is modern American cooking with global influences, particularly Asian. Before you even walk in, the aroma of wood-fired cooking draws you toward the door like a siren song. Sharing dishes is the best way to experience this place. The menu changes frequently, but there are a few dishes whose removal might inspire me to stage a protest outside. So I'm skipping down the menu to start with my favorite: Bánh Cuốn ($21): Ground duck, wood ear mushrooms, and habanero wrapped in delicate rice sheets and served in a coconut sauce that will have you reaching for a spoon. Three pieces come to an order, but you can add a fourth. I love this dish so much that I frequently order it twice. It captures the care and attention to detail that make the food here so special. Two of the "snacks" deserve particular mention: Isaan Sausage ($7): Two slices of Thai fermented pork sausage made with garlic and rice, served with gem lettuce, perilla leaf, green mango, and nam pla (fish sauce). The sausage's tangy, slightly sour flavor makes for a terrific opening bite. Wood-Roasted Dates ($7): Three dates on a skewer with lamb belly bacon, pistachio, goat cheese, Aleppo pepper, and honey. Sweet, salty, smoky, and rich--the perfect tease for the meal to come. Another dish in the "don't ever take this off the menu" category is the Oxtail Hummus ($19), with crispy chickpeas, curry oil, and naan. A generous portion of meltingly tender oxtail sits in silky hummus. You'll want to put that naan to work and leave nothing behind. Snapper Tostada ($26): Raw snapper tossed with salsa macha, fermented strawberry, and toasted sesame, served on a blue corn tostada. It reminded me of a Peruvian ceviche, with its own distinctive combination of flavors. Wonderful. For larger plates, two stand out: Coal-Roasted Dry-Aged Dorade ($65): Served with calamansi, serrano pepper, and koji butter, the whole fish arrives split and filleted. I'm running out of adjectives, so let's just call it somewhere beyond delicious. Mishima Ranch Zabuton ($58): Steak lovers, this one is for you. Zabuton is a richly marbled shoulder cut prized for its tenderness and buttery flavor. Here, it's wood-roasted, served with puréed potatoes, and finished with a delicate Panang curry. I could not stop eating it. Brian is also a sommelier, and the wine list is extensive and interesting. Refreshingly, the prices don't start at $150 and climb from there. There are plenty of excellent wines at reasonable prices. The cocktail menu changes regularly, too. One current standout is "Fat of the Land" ($19): Las Vegas Distillery gin, pandan, lime leaf, jasmine-steeped coconut milk, and melon. Oh, and this review will also serve as my request to bring back the "This is the Way" cocktail! Then there's dessert. You have to try the Vietnamese Coffee--and no, it's not a drink. Coffee ice cream, Maracaibo crémeux, black Okinawa sugar, and condensed milk espuma. You'll be scraping the bottom of the dish to get every last bit. The service is warm and welcoming, completing a meal that keeps me coming back. If there were a sixth star, I'd leave it.

Let me start with the only thing you really need to know: order the foie gras. Then order it again…read more Honestly, I wish we had ordered ten of them and skipped everything else. It was heaven in my mouth and easily the star of the night. The wood roasted date was delicious too. It's very tiny, so don't expect much more than a bite or two, but every bit of it was worth it. The rest was more uneven. The rabbit dan dan was okay, nothing I'd rush back for. The snapper tostada didn't impress me at all and was the one dish I'd skip next time. We each had the Yuzual Suspects cocktail, and while it was good, the pours are super small, especially for the price. That's worth knowing going in if you plan to have more than one. I'd absolutely come back, but next time I know exactly what I'm doing: a couple of roasted dates and as much foie gras as they'll bring me

We had reservations right when they opened, and the place filled up pretty quickly, so I definitely recommend reserving ahead of time. 2nd time sitting in the mall dining room area and I don't love it…read more We had a party of 8 of us and it was just loud in that room from the overhead music and multiple tables that it was hard to hear anyone who is 2 persons from you. We were given a round table and I felt like I had to scream across the table for the person sitting there to hear me. Service felt very rush. We had a Monday reservation at 8pm for 8ppl and the waitress seems to come by, and if we were not ready for her, she's gone for another 10mins. Definitely a busier Monday but I just felt so rush to get my order in or we won't get our food or drinks in a timely manner. Food was good though. Steak orders were medium rare, it came out as is. Broccolini was done right. They didn't have the fries and the apple pie dumpling. Quite strange that they don't have it on a busy night. Not the best dining experience in vegas tonight.
