After going through an intensive online application and further communication with one of the people there, I agreed to come visit and was asked to bring my friend as he lives on my property and will be an influence in a new dog's life here. The nice lady I was talking with explained that although she will not be there on the Saturday I was to visit but assured me that the shelter manager would be happy to talk with me. It is over an hour away so I wanted to make the most of my visit. I also brought my two much older dogs with me in case there was an opportunity to let them meet each other. When we arrived we were met by two volunteers both pleasant young ladies and an occasional third young man. We met the puppy and even took her for a walk down the road. The place was empty of other visitors and the parking lot was empty. important. I get it that they care about their dogs and want to make sure that they find nice homes. but.. Apparently the shelter manager was too busy to speak with me even though she was the only one who could say anything that wasn't a part of their 'script' and it was she that I came to talk to and whom I had made the appointment to meet. They would not allow my dogs to meet the puppy and insisted that the next step 'had' to be an in home visit. Again... just repeating their script as they had no authority to do anything other than repeat the script. So we left with assurances that they would be in contact with me to arrange said visit. That was over 3 weeks ago and still not a word from any of them, not a call or even an email. I am an older gentleman who owns my own home with 3 acres of land alongside of a river with an additional 35 acres of land next to me for walks and I have owned dogs my entire life. I have no idea what their issue is but this is a pretty crappy way of dealing with someone who wants to provide a home for a dog from a shelter.

So if that bite was so bad that you need to charge me an additional $50, why can't you recall it? If you have to have a fee that you add for so many dogs biting you, maybe you shouldn't be a groomer. I will be looking into her license and reporting her. My poor pup is super razor burnt, and her little face looks horrible. She has been groomed her entire life and I have never had any issues or her not liking clippers like she said. She only did half of her face! (See photos) If you want to be scammed for hidden fees and a terrible hair cut this is the place to go. The owners response to this and her other reviews are ridiculous! Penelope is our family dog! So to assume she isn't my dog is absolutely ridiculous. And my mother only tipped you because she is a nice person and we believe in tipping people period. Even if everything wasn't up to standard we don't want to hurt peoples livelihood, take the tip and the criticism and move up and on. Good and bad reviews help companies know what they are doing good and bad at.

Monty is a rescue pup and is very shy and unsure around people. These ladies completely understood that a dog who has been through trauma sometimes needs extra patience, gentleness, and kindness. They were prepared to give Monty the time and care he needed instead of rushing him or making him uncomfortable. That means so much to me. It's not just about giving a dog a great grooming--it's about understanding the dog in front of you and making them feel safe. I would absolutely recommend these wonderful ladies, especially to anyone who has a rescue or a pup who needs a little extra patience and understanding. The staff is very caring and doctor Sonya is an excellent veterinarian and I would recommend this veterinarian clinic to anyone. I have seen where they will go out of their way to help customers that aren't even patients of theirs. That is what excellence and caring is about. I have gone to several clinics here in the area before I came upon GHV clinic. Sadly I was given a misdiagnosis from my then vet and was given treatments on my rottweiler for Cushings disease that she didn't have and pills that she didn't need to take. I ended up going to GVS for an emergency with my rottweiler as my then current vet said he didn't have time to see ElizzaBear until the following week and I couldn't wait that long due to the "Cushings disease". That is when I learned from Dr. Sonya, after she performed multiple tests on ElizzaBear, that ElizzaBear did not have Cushing's disease at all. I was extremely upset about dosing my dog for something that she didn't need. She is now gone but never forgotten. You can imagine my surprise and needless to say, I have been with Dr. Sonya ever since for all of our pets' needs and that was many years ago. I also had another misfortune with another clinic that charged me $50 per pet just for a nail trim. That's completely unacceptable and outrageous! I never went back. Grays Harbor veterinary clinic is not only helpful and caring but their costs are very reasonable.

It's never fun leaving a bad review, but I've been here twice and turns out it wasn't a one-off…read morefluke. For reference, I've had cats in my home the last 13 years. I've moved between three different states and had about five vets in that time. More if you count a few emergency vet visits. I have NEVER had to book a second appointment because of my cat's temperament. My first visit to this office was in Oct 2025. They have signs posted about not serving pets that get agitated, including possible sedation for services. My cat was there for a swollen leg, and was not happy to be there. (And please feel free to enlighten about any cat that enjoys the vet.) He was five at the time and the previous vet never complained about his temperament. This vet, however, was standoffish with him. Her name is Dr. O'Connor. Thankfully, we got through the appointment but I wasn't impressed with her hesitancy to provide service. Fast forward to today, April 2026. I brought both my cats in for their annual wellness exams. They each needed updated vaccines. The tech came in first, checked their weights, and confirmed the services we needed. (Which they don't have right. The thought only one cat needed shots but they both did.) The vet comes in without the vials for shots and made a comment about not having them prepared yet. The first cat goes up and does fine. No shots administered while he was happy though because they weren't in the room... Now the second cat goes up and is not as cooperative. Thankfully, she managed to give him his shot. Now it's time to bring the first cat up again and he's getting defensive. As cats do at the vet! (At least in my experience) She tells me I'll have to bring him back for a "tech appointment" for the shots because he's agitated. His "kitty minutes" as they call them are up. -_- We waited 20 minutes to be seen, then the vet comes in without everything she needs to facilitate the appointment, yet I have to pay a secondary appointment fee now because of the office's negligence and poor bedside manner? My cats behaved how they always behave at the vet and it's never been an issue. It's seems like this vet and certain techs are uncomfortable around animals, frankly. Maybe they're new to the field? Idk I moved to Elma from Lakewood which is why I switched vets. I would rather make the hour drive one way to my previous vet in Tacoma with two cats in tow than deal with this office again. And moving forward, I will. I did book the tech appointment because my cat needs the update on his rabies shot, and I don't want it to be delayed any further. Ultimately, I will adhere to their policies but it's just not the type of service I'm looking for in a vet. I will say, to their credit, that the appointment was originally scheduled for the week before and I had to reschedule last minute. (The cats are indoor outdoor and got out while I was at work. Came home to an empty house) They were very nice about it, and I do recognize they could argue I wasted their time first. My advice - go the Union Ave Vet Hospital in Tacoma and see Dr. Plevinskyi. He's awesome!

She was very concerned he wouldn't make it. The surgery turned out perfect. I got my little guy back for six more months. He died on the way to Vesta at 15 yrs and 6 months. During the pandemic if they couldn't get us in right away were very quick getting records to the vet we went to.

I took my one year old husky to the vet for an ear infection. She doesn't like things in her ears…read moreso I recommended using a muzzle. My husky is dramatic so she talked a lot, tried to get her muzzle off, and struggled to sit still when we got close to her ear with the medicine. When she moved the vet grabbed her by her cheek fur and told her no. He did this twice. The third time she moved he grabbed her and shook her. She reacted by screaming and peeing herself. During this time of him shaking her, I told him to let her go about 4 times before he finally did. I told him to never do that again and he said she was learning bad habits. I dont think it is ever acceptable for a vet, a professional, to ever shake a dog because they are scared. Him shaking her made her more terrified. Neither of my dogs will ever go there again.
