    Piper-Our spoiled girl!

I bring both my Balinese-TC and my Yorkie-Piper to this clinic. Dr Crawford and her staff are the best. I have no complaints about the care provided to my 4-legged family members. She treats them as she would if they were her own. It is not only her, but the staff as well. We are greeted when we arrive, called by name and seldom have a long wait time-or if an emergency is happening with someone else's family member-we are updated on the wait. I love the reminder call and especially the day after call which the clinic provides. (They should pass this on to human clinics!) Not only do I bring my current ones here, but have used this clinic for some time now. If I could wish for one thing, it would be to have them open on a weekend once in a while. I tried to reach out to an emergency clinic one time during Covid closures and was unsuccessful in getting an appointment in Western Washington or even the Portland area. It was a good thing the illness passed without the loss of my pet. I can't provide a greater recommendation to any other pet clinic than Grays Harbor Vet and all the staff here. Thank you all.

The newer building--photo posted online about 2017. Bigger lobby, cheerful, clean, coffee area, just so nice compared to most vet offices.

I have taken both cats and dogs to Dr. Dowling. Never had a problem in the 32 years we have been going there. He is easy to talk to and the entire office has a positive feel to it. When we had to let a fur baby go over the Rainbow Bridge....the staff was very respectful. Understanding the pain of loss we were experiencing. During the pandemic if they couldn't get us in right away were very quick getting records to the vet we went to.

My husky is dramatic so she talked a lot, tried to get her muzzle off, and struggled to sit still when we got close to her ear with the medicine. When she moved the vet grabbed her by her cheek fur and told her no. He did this twice. The third time she moved he grabbed her and shook her. She reacted by screaming and peeing herself. During this time of him shaking her, I told him to let her go about 4 times before he finally did. I told him to never do that again and he said she was learning bad habits. I dont think it is ever acceptable for a vet, a professional, to ever shake a dog because they are scared. Him shaking her made her more terrified. Neither of my dogs will ever go there again.

However, I personally just had. THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WITH A LOVED WILD ONE!! That left me and my entire family with so much anger, broken hearts, distrust, and disappointment. That we went from wanting to work with and support this center to avoiding it at all costs!! There's many out there, with more compassion, and trust than this!! That we will forever devote our money, donations, and time too. Definitely, not somewhere That's going to treat their COMMUNITY LIKE THIS!! I went through this 3 years ago!! During Covid, and was treated so respectfully by local rehabilitaters, vets, helped even, and given an opportunity to release my Slinky into the wild which I did!! She Thrived and was so happy!! Here at THWC I was so disrespected, judged IMMEDIATELY, and not EVEN GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE MYSELF TRUTHFUL & LOYAL to this lil squirrels well being, like I have always been!! In the past. (During Covid) Fish & Wildlife even let me prove myself. Now my families heart are shattered to bits, our baby is all alone out in a foreign Forrest, to start all over, when he had a perfectly good home that he was born in OUTSIDE IN A TREE here, that he's familiar with, Scents that he's familiar with. All because they didn't want to take a moment to communicate & just listen. They had already made their minds up about me, judging me as this awful individual, that "supposably cages, and abuses squirrels!! At least the last lady I spoke to on the phone MADE IT CLEAR THATS HOW THEY FELT!! He wasn't caged much at all, I have video to prove it!! I fed him proper foods, vegetables, berries, vitamins. Seeds, insects, leaves, nuts, wood etc. He was healthy!! They kept trying to tell me he was a young adult based on his weight!! I knew he wasn't a young adult!! He was only several months old at most!! I KNOW WHEN HIS MAMA WAS TRAGICALLY KILLED, and I checked her nesting box the next morning for babies just in case, and there were!! I have VIDEO!! So, I know for a fact he wasn't an adult and they kept insisting he was based on his weight saying I was being untruthful!! So I sent them over actual video, and photos of my husband putting a selfie stick in the nesting box on May 7, 2023 the very first day we discovered them!! Definitely NOT a young adult!! He was a very healthy juvenile squirrel!! I'm not sure about this place on how trustworthy they are with keeping their word and actually "working" with their community. After looking at their FB page, they only post when they receive something or about an animal. They don't interact with the community much. With this experience alone I don't think I will EVER CHOOSE to work with them again. I do understand that these precious animals are wild but you CAN have a healthy relationship with wildlife too, if you do your research, and learn about them, and learn to cohabitate. Their lives in towns are being destroyed with all the building and destruction of trees. I'm trying to do what's best for them, by putting up extra nesting boxes, or foraging supplies for fall winter. I have zero intention of caging them or keeping them. I have a little wildlife zoo out back in my yard because of where I live and I love it. With all my little Chickadees, California Scrub Jays, goldfinch, squirrels hummingbirds, raccoons, opossums. Every year there's babies. I don't want them caged!! Where I live is a squirrels dream. All you did was separate us for all of us to suffer, what good comes out of that?? Dinkie was going to be free within days!! Why would you be so cruel, and do this?? He was in no danger, or injured. EVER?! Upon healthy evaluation, if you had only taken a moment to check my address, to see where I live, I'm surrounded by farmland, Forrest, and ocean, right next to Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge!! I sent photos and video of the perfect outdoor life he'd have, but obviously, you didn't consider ANY OF IT!! #BringDinkieHome

When our boy lost his leg to cancer, the team at Four Paws worked with us to get his body confidence back post-amputation and keep him moving and limber. Through arthritis, cancer, and loss, Four Paws was there for our family. Words cannot express our deepest gratitude to Dana, Sav, and Bren who were there for the whole journey. If you are wondering, "Does PT really actually work for a dog?" Yes, I can confirm that it does help. We witnessed the progress and it did make a huge difference. We got our boy back post-amputation and I do credit the work at Four Paws for him getting his spark and confidence back. Be consistent about appointment, follow your therapist's recommendations, and above all, be kind and respectful. The staff at Four Paws are VERY good at what they do.
