My boyfriend was quoted a $25 consultation fee, they charged $75. My cat was diagnosed with out the vet even examining her. The vet was more concerned about flees and mites (my cat has neither) than the lumps on her belly. We were quoted $2000 for a partial mastectomy a different vet quoted $800 but also said we could wait as the lumps are not cancerous. read more

We used to take both of our dogs to Raintree. We loved Dr. Dan. Unfortunately they got somebody in the front office who was very rude, confrontational and has zero customer service nor professionalism. In addition, even though we were established for many years there it still takes too long to be seen. The straw that broke the camels back? We always pay in full at the time of service for any procedure or visit -but the rude office person insisted that in order to make an appointment we would have to leave a deposit! Raintree took good care of three of my dogs during their spay/ neuter surgeries. Wish they could do more to get established clients in when they are need urgent care but the mobile pet vet took care of us right away. read more

Supposed to open at 7:30am. I waited for an extra 15 minutes after they were supposed to open for them to open the door or answer the phone while my cat was dying of kidney failure. Ended up giving up to take him to Companion where he had to be euthanized. RIP Felix read more

2 new puppies in our household. We made appointment for vaccinations. A slow moving truck and a lane closure delayed our drive. We called and let them know that we would be 8 minutes late according to GPS. Told we were too late and our 40 minute drive was a wasted trip. Not a shadow of my first experience. This morning when my wife called in tears needing our dying dog to be put to sleep, the lady that answered the call was COLD, HEARTLESS and wasn't even listening as she kept calling our dog PEPPER. Who the hell is pepper?. She said they were full and this couldn't happen til Thursday. Offered no suggestions nothing. What is this die day there today? Omg we have been clients for 6 yrs there and had our other baby put to sleep last year there. Her attitude on the phone was UNACCEPTABLE in every way. DR Dan Brown was our favorite and not even sure he knows how ppl are being treated on the phone for such a sad and sensitive situation, but we will never use them again, SHAME ON YOU , you have failed us and our dying dog big time. I wish we would of gotten her name. Horrible way to treat us as we are already very sad to have to do this to our sweet little dog. JUST got her name. AMANDA, Shame on you . Heartless. Ok well thank you Megan the Vet manager there for calling us and taking our concern to heart and rectifying our pain. She has spoken with mentioned employee and this should never happen again. I have been going to Raintree Vet for the past 20 years. Dr. Dan has been one of the most caring and kind individuals ever after he took over from Dr Wesby. I even used to work on the network at RTV and Dr Westby's place in Oly for many years, I have dropped everything before in the past to go to the business and help them when the network was down. I had an appointment setup with them and I got stuck in traffic and was 5 minutes late when I called to let them know I would be just another couple of minutes after traveling 20 min. both ways to pickup my dog and drive to the vet 40 min. total drive time. Amanda told me that they couldn't see me so I had to turn around and drive another 20 min. back home. The clinic is booking way too many appointments per day if they can't offer a 5 to 10 minute grace period. I explained but they still would not see us. Given what I have done for the clinic dropping things to rush over to help them in the past this was a BIG disappointment that they would not offer a 5 minute courtesy and if I had another vet I could trust I would be leaving RTV because of this. I still may drop them, although I like Dan. Not happy at all. read more

All of the vet techs are knowledgeable and really good with animals. The staff at the front desk are kind and helpful and always try to meet your needs. I have four dogs and they have provided excellent care for them. I'm so grateful they're here with the vet shortage in Washington state. It really gives me peace of mind knowing they are here. We were camping at Grayland State Park and out dog got an infection that abscessed and was horrible. Desperate for some help we called the vet in Grayland. They could not see our pet even on an emergency basis. Calling around one of the vets recommended was Raintree in Hoquiam. It was a bit of a drive, but we needed help. We called and they were able to get us in for an emergency drop off which was fantastic. We brought her there and they fixed her up that day and by 4:00 we had our happy dog back with us! The icing on the cake was the charge was only $150! In Seattle we would have had to pay far more than that. I will always have a spot in my heart for Raintree Vet! If I'm honest, I gotta admit I didn't have a good experience with Maria Imhof... I wrote a long, scathing review and just lambasted them a couple years back. A recent interaction with Dr. Brown, the staff, and something I saw there has drastically changed my opinion. Originally Dr. Imhof refused to really look at my dog --backed in a corner like she was afraid, wanted him doped up (how can you diagnosis a doped up dog?). That visit she never looked at him except from the farthest point across the room and never touched him. I should mention he's a huge baby, not a fan of the vet and really wanted out of there, but will let them do what they need to do. Never growled at or bit anyone ever. Dr. Brown is another story. This guy really cares and I don't know how my dog is gonna turn out right now, it could be pretty serious, but the level of care and compassion is absolutely deserving of a new opinion of this clinic as a whole. Saw my dog right away on a Monday morning despite already being slammed, found out the problem and called me back within an hour or two, saw me a couple hours after that and went over everything in great detail. I really can't say enough good about this man. When the pizza guy was here two hours ago and heard my dog wasn't feeling well, first thing he did was to bring up Dr. Brown! So yeah, he's amazing. Then the staff. They've gone out of their way to help me and obviously care. And what I saw Monday was tearjerking --a woman was obviously losing her pet. She was inconsolable and just a wreck. The woman at the desk escorted her to the back and they stopped midway and she just held her for a moment while she cried. My heart went out to her, it really did. I know how she felt, what she was going through and it's not easy. And the staff, they have to go through this day in and day out. Today, one of the nurses was teaching a man how to treat his puppy with an IV bag. Came out to his truck to further go over the instructions in great detail. So I took back my initial review. I'm still not a fan of Dr. Imhof, maybe others are, maybe I just had a bad experience with her, but for me Dr. Brown is the man and the staff are great. read more

My rescue dog has extreme separation anxiety. The staff here have been helpful with many suggestions. When some things weren't enough they were kind and prescribed both a pharmaceutical and behavioral approach. We are still working on it. But my dog is happy to go in; they spoil her with affection. We are making progress. I feel their rates are fair. And they are really nice to people too! I would definitely recommend! read more

Our cat Grace has been sneezing since Tuesday. The local vet did not have an opening until 9/16! Yesterday, I called Raintree...they fit her in at 9:30 this morning. They were super friendly and Dr. Becker was great with Grace! She even sat on the floor and snuggled with her. It was such a relief to actually be able to go in with Grace and not have to sit in the car waiting like you have to do here. I HIGHLY recommend Raintree Veterinary Center and will be taking all of our cats to them in the future. read more

I highly recommend Raintree Veterinary Center. Our German Shepherd Dog had three masses removed by another veterinarian. We were visiting the Coast the day after her sutures were removed. We woke up to blood everywhere and a gaping wound in our dog's side. The veterinarian who had done the surgery was more than two hours away. I frantically began calling every vet close to us and Raintree got us in immediately. Doctor Brown was absolutely incredible. He was so kind and patient with our girl and he made sure to talk with us to ease our concerns. She had to undergo emergency surgery, right then, to get the wound cleaned and sutured again. Every member of the staff, on each of our visits, were very kind and helpful. We never felt rushed and even though this was not our normal vet we felt like our dog and we, ourselves, were treated with care and respect. If we lived in the area, this would definitely be our hometown vet! read more

Been using Raintree now for about a year for our everyday vet needs. My rat terrier is scared to death of 2 things-car rides and the vet. Already a highly anxious dog, taking her to the vet sends her anxiety through the roof. She has chronic allergies and a bum knee so we're there at least once or twice a month. Not fun But the staff has been nothing but oh so sweet to her. They talk to my pooch in low, gentle tones and a soothing voice and are always happy to see us. They actually remember me and who my dog is every time I come in. Before the exam the staff talk to her, pet her and rub her back and sides to sooth her and calm her down. Which works. We always chat to a few minutes before they start poking and prodding her, which really helps. I've dealt with Dr. Westby once and Dr Brown 5 or 6 times by now. Both have left me with the impression they are passionate about what they do. Every time they have recommended something-surgery, dental cleanings, heart worm treatments, they have always been up front with the cost and let me make payments ahead of time before the procedure. This was the worst experience me and my cat have ever had going to the vet The doctor did not listen to me at all. After the examination I was asked how much I planned on spending for the visit. I did not understand why this question before telling me what was going on with my cat. In the past with different doctors they have told me what was going on with my cat and explained to me the different options for treatment. For them to ask how much money I had was rude and insulting I felt like I was trying to buy a used car. I was asked what I wanted out of the appointment I said a healthy cat. I got told his seizures are from fleas my cat does not have fleas. They asked if I wanted his blood checked of course yes I want what it will take to help my cat. I paid them in advanced they were real worried about the money. I got treated like I could not pay. After I paid 10 minutes went by and they said everything came back good. I don't believe his blood even got ran. I bring my cat back home and he has been having at least 3 seizure a day I probably do not see it every time. Now $330 later I am going to take him to another vet. These guys are rude they did not listen or treat my cat they just made damn sure to get paid before service then did nothing. Had an appt set for a cat to be neutered 6 weeks ago. We withheld food all night and the next morning was told they don't see any record of our appt. That we never made one. Then offered to reschedule for the 22nd. When I called to reschedule to the 22nd, I was told by someone else that it's actually the 21st. Someone is dropping the ball in this office and there is all around poor customer service. I'm hoping the pet patients are treated better than the people paying. read more

A very well run and professional veterinary. During a stressful emergency visit the employees and owner / vet immediately took over and got our dog into care, and then got to focusing and talking to some near hysterical owners. I feel very fortunate to have had Dr Westby close by during our travels. He was compassionate, patient, and clear spoken. We had a slight issue of not being kept in the loop at the beginning as to our dog's status, but when I politely asked the front desk about any updates they went to bring us a quick report. I am a client and called for a new puppy checkup and puppy vaccine and was told I would have to wait 4-5 weeks! This vet checkup was required by the breeder, and 4-5 weeks wait was impossible since I certainly did want to leave a 9 week old puppy unvaccinated. When I protested, there was no help from the receptionist, so I will have to go elsewhere. Raintree has lost a client. read more

My cat HATES going to the vet. Hisses and growls are the norm. My cat didn't even make a sound when I brought him here. My cat is elderly and needs frequent tests of his urine and blood. When ever I go to a new vet, I write down notes on his history. Also, when I go for a regular visit at an established vet, I write down things I have noticed. Dr. Dan Brown appreciated my notes, he said they were very helpful. Prices were about average for this area. I liked that their prices were straightforward, no silly fees with silly made up names for whatever reason. Their parking lot has room for a good number of cars, but the driving area makes it impossible to get into if you are in an RV. If you are in an RV (without a tow car), good luck finding somewhere to park around here, I didn't see any place. If you need a prescription written for special food so you can take it in your travels with your pet, they will write prescriptions for you (or so I was told, haven't tried it yet). I took my female chow into Dr Westby after I noticed she had blood in her urine. I told Dr Westby that she might be pregnant but I was unsure. Dr Westby suggested that I leave her there overnight for tests and x rays. I returned the following day and was informed that she had a bladder infection but she wasn't pregnant. Seven days later she gave birth to 6 healthy puppies. I was charged hundreds of dollars for that overnight stay at Dr Westby and was told she wasn't pregnant. Dr Westby is either corrupt or incompetent. Stay away from Dr Westby. He's a crook read more

I always get so nervous going to the vet, and Dan Brown was absolutely amazing. He answered all my questions in depth and answered questions I didn't even know I had. The associates at raintree are extraordinary and care so much about their patient, and the patients owners. The best vet I've had for along time. My poor Cosmo who was about 16 yrs old got sick. Apparently Washington State has some real bad fleas and they are immune to normal flea medicine. Anyway, they sucked my baby boy dry before I even new he got anemic and acquired a kidney issue. Raintree took the best care they could, which wasn't enough, but not their fault. My baby boy got too sick and I decided to end the suffering. Raintree was so kind and considerate in how they handled getting him euthanized. They gave me my own little room, so I could comfort him in his path to kitty heaven. They told me I could have as much time as needed and to let them know when to begin. Not once did they ask for payment. I had to ask them. Then they told me to call in a couple days after I had time to mourn, to make my payment arrangements. THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH RAINTREE. The staff was so kind, and Dr. Brown took time with us to fully explain what was going on, and what to expect. Even though it was close to closing, there was no rush.
