My son had a tail light out, and he got pulled over by the pierce county cops at subway in auburn. We told the cops we were on our way to pick up my sons truck. We would be there in 45 minutes. Not only did they call Fred's towing which was not open on weekends, they took my son to Tacoma on a bogus charge and when we got to the subway in time they had called Fred's, the furtherest tow company away in enumclaw to the toon of $624. For 12 hours stay. They charged us $381 for hookup, $66. Storage, and $127. for after hours. Total $624.51. What a bogus company. I work for a property owner, and I try to have this company help with an abandoned vehicle. There was only one person in the office who could apparently print out or find the proper paperwork, and no one else could figure out how to do it. When one employee came in, he began talking and I had no idea he was even talking to me, until he took his hoodie off and got off his cell phone and looked at me... I had to return 3 times get some of the paperwork I was told that I needed. I then was given incorrect information regarding the situation (inconsistent with RCW 46.55.010). We went with a different towing company. This is a tow truck company, I don't expect stellar customer service... I did expect a little more than what I got. I wouldn't even expect a "how may I help you," because, again it's a towing company dealing probably with a lot of angry people, but "hi" would have worked. I didn't even have a Yelp account before this (just used it to look at reviews), but seeing there's no current reviews and the this convinced me to open an account. read more

PSA‼ be very careful buying stuff from Fred's towing service in enumclaw !! I bought some seats for my vehicle from them . Get the seats home and begin to clean them off and reach in the back pocket of a seat to clean it out and almost got stabbed by a USED NEEDLE THAT WAS FULL OF SUBSTANCE! Called them immediately and told them and the boss said "yea my guys found a lot of needles in the car those came from" . THEY DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF THIS BEFORE PURCHASE and these seats were also loaded into the minivan for transport that my kids were also in at the time ! THE WORKERS HELPED LOAD THE SEATS UP! Last night I accidentally got myself into a ditch and I called them but dispatch said they were tending to a big accident and that they'd call me back to let me know if they could come they never called and out of the blue a driver showed up but I had already made arrangements with another company to do the job (they asked for a 50% deposit) and when I tried explaining it to the driver he just unloaded a cascade of insults while squaring off to try to get me to fight then he finally started to leave screaming insults and racial slurs at me. read more

We were stuck on Mount Rainier during Memorial Day Weekend when we got a flat tire in a rental without a spare tire (go figure). Tim from Fred's Towing rescued us, helped us contact Enterprise, made sure we were taken care of including dropping us off at a local bar while we waited for Enterprise to deliver a new car (3-5 hr quote on that wait time)before leaving us. He was wonderful and would highly recommend using these guys if a tow service is needed in this area. Thank you Tim very much!! read more

We had a motorcycle with a flat tire. The first driver who came out said he couldn't do it with the flat bed, they needed a wrecker and it would be there in about 20 minutes. An hour and a half later when I called to see what was going on, I was told the driver had been there, no one was available to help, and with my saddle bags it couldn't have been done etc. I was there the whole time, would have been happy to remove the saddle bags if they were a problem. So they lied and then called me a liar. If they didn't want to tow it, fine, but someone should've told me so I could get it to the repair shop before they closed for the weekend. LAME. read more

These guys towed my husband's Harley and when we picked it up it wouldn't start. My husband threw a big fit and tried fighting the owner blaming him and the guys working. They still went above and beyond to help him and even called a friend of theirs to come out and look at it. Totally professional and helpful even though my husband was an ass. I'm grateful for their tact and kind heartedness even though he didn't deserve it. read more

This place took great care of my son this past weekend. He was 4 wheeling with his friends in the mountains. My son got his truck stuck and needed to be towed. It was a Sunday, snowing heavy and dark by the time Fred got the call. They showed up quickly and got my son's truck pulled out. Then they went a step further by helping him fill a tire and pull out a crunch in his truck so he could drive it home. Went beyond the duty! Very great experience. I was pretty sure it was going to cost and arm and leg but there pricing was very reasonable. I paid for towing a couple years back in much simplier situations and the cost was much more. My son needed a tow on Saturday night and was connected to Freds Towing by an emergency hot line. They never bothered to show up. I found out later that the driver chose to ignore the dispatch. How is that for customer service. Pathetic. I tried to give them 0 stars but 1 is the minimum. read more

This company is a complete fraud they will charge ridiculous unfair amounts no matter the situation. Our tow guy took his time getting to us (3 1/2 hours)when we weren't that far away for us to only get pulled out of the snow (after that we needed nothing else from them and were in our own vehicle) which took literally 2 minutes to do so and then he got himself stuck for over an hour! My bf helped the whole time and on our way down the tow guy also proceeded to help his buddy who got himself stuck as well and waste more of our time. We were then forced to pay $1300 for all the time THEY spent messing around! They didn't care we helped or the fact that we were freezing and just wanted to get home they wouldn't give us a fair reasonable amount after all the crap & got cops involved. They judged my bf solely based of his vehicle and said we could afford it.. they even tried to take our property which is why we were forced to pay and the fact it was going on 1 in the morning. What they are doing is completely wrong they'll take advantage!! I hope this helps others I would highly advise seeking other help. You've been warned! read more

Called to have a car towed from i-90. Asked around how much the total cost would be and I was told "around $300." I figured that was within my price range and cheaper than me driving home and picking it up myself the next day. So we went ahead and had them tow it. When they got it back home they said the total cost would be $560. Almost twice as much as what I had initially been told! Called back and the guy completely denied that he said $300 to begin with. My car was towed from my house that was two feet from my drive way, when I found out that my car had just pulled into Fred's, I called them. This is a Saturday night around 10pm and they answered. The guy I was talking to was extremely rude when I was asking where my car was and told him that I wanted to come get it tonight. He told me that I could not come get it that night or Sunday because they are "after hours". Apparently means that they're closed. I didn't know that and the guy was extremely rude and said I could not come get it. I went on Monday right when they opened to pick up my car. They charged me $370. When I went to my car, I had found beer "Rainier" cans in my car. I don't drink beer and I thought that was odd that someone who did drive my car left beer cans in there. When I went to start up my car, it had died. I tried to drive it a block away from the place, but my car kept dying. So I pulled into the QFC parking lot. Later, my brother came and found that my car was missing three parts from my engine bay. Someone had also cut a tube in half. We called them and they denied (of course). My current experience with Fred's was very unprofessional. When I called I was hurried off the phone saying that they were trying to do 10 things at once and when he called me back I was asked who was going to pay for the towing to send my car to the place that I had asked. When I said either our insurance or us but rest assured he would be paid he let me know that he was going to take our car to the location we asked between 1 and 2pm. When the body shop called at 2pm to say that the car was not there they said that they called and Fred's was not planning on taking my car there and that they had to find another company to tow it from Fred's tow yard. If he would have let us know that originally we could have had our car to the body shop in time for review before the weekend. read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service They lied about charges, they tried to extort us, and they harassed us until my mother was reduced to tears. My mother's car broke down and when she called her roadside assistance, she was told that there would be no charge for the tow. She asked them to contact Fred's towing to confirm there would be zero charge as she was aware she only had 100$ covered. She was placed on abrief hold and told that fred's towing confirmed there would be ZERO charge for the tow. When the driver got to my apartment complex where the vehicle was, the first thing he says before even "hello" is "so its gonna be 25 dollars." My mother, taken slightly aback, asked why when she was told it was going to be free. The driver sneered and said "These things cost money lady. what you wanna talk to my boss or somethin?" welll absolutely we did. My mother called the boss and asked him why she was being charged,and he assaulted her saying that the driver said WE were being rude to him and that he was the most kind and professional man he ever knew, and then said "what you don't have 20 bucks?" to her. She said "20 bucks? The driver is quoting me 25 and you quoted my insurance no charge." he then backpedalled saying "I don't have exact numbers" and then said if my mother kept it he woudl send the driver home and good luck finding another tow truck. My mother began crying trying to explain she just wanted clarification on what the amount even was or why shew as being charged. The owner got off the phone telling her that he was sending the driver home. The driver then said "look lady im just trying to help" and my mom said "are you, cuz your boss says its 20 bucks and it seems like you're trying to screw me over." and he says "its 25 bucks. give or take. Maybe i dunno i dont have exact numbers" so throughout all of this time they wouldnt even look up how much she even owed them. I told him very clearly and politely" Its clear that your company wont be helping us, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave" and he then sneers at me, steps up to me me puffing his chest up and says "What are YOU gonna do about it huh?" and I told him again "Your services are not required. Please leave." He stepped up to me again, leaning in and said "yeah but what are you gonna DO huh?" so I pointed to my apartment managers building and said "I'll get my manager involved if you prefer, they'll certainly ask you to leave too." And i started walking that way. He then yelled across the parking lot he was "leaving anyway". My mother said she was going to leave a bad review and he said "go ahead we dont care about the internet, we'll get business anyway" I have contacted the police and filed a report with the BBB, as well as posted in local communities on facebook. These people are horrendous and there are other local companies that are much more honest who are actually willing to help. you DO NOT need to use these people.contact their competitors.
