This is my first Review, because I feel the need to voice my concern. There is no debate that Fred is a dedicated worker. He takes pride in his work and aims to satisfy his customers. However, my concern stems from the manner in which he charged me. I do not like surprises when it comes to my money & the work that is agreed upon. So, from the very beginning & after informing him what the problem was, I asked him what was the best & worst case cost scenario. He told me $250 best case, $500 worst case. After getting more involved with the job, of course it looked like worst case. At no time during the process did Fred ever notify me of inflating costs. There was no discussion/communication on his part, along the way, preparing me for possible rising costs of the job. That's why it was a shock when he told me the final charge was $725. It wasn't only the additional $225 that shocked me, but the fact the he did not communicate with me as a customer during the process. Once the work was completed, it made no difference to me whether he would have said $725 or a million dollars - I was prepared for a charge around $500. As a businessman, it is his obligation to disclose this information to the consumer, PRIOR to the completion of the task. Although he may deliver a satisfactory job, be prepared to pay more than quoted. I'm considering taking him to small claims court, for unfair business practices. He claims to be honest, but I'm not-so-sure. Be cautious. I won't ever deal with him again. read more
