The food here is so good! Great atmosphere for family time and also a nice casual place to hang out with friends. Their menu has something for everyone! My son is a picky eater but I can always rely on the fact he'll eat all of his pizza or smash burger & fries from this place. Its website has got to be the worst. It adds tips without your permission. You don't know if your ordering from the right location. You add your stuff in then it doesn't complete the he transaction. Freda's Pizza is beyond delicious. I might even say some of the best pizza in the 805. I can't believe I am just trying this spot! My friends and I were super wowed by the flavors and quick service. Happy to report that Service was good and thankfully they appear to have a well stocked kitchen because they had a lot of people prepping and cooking the pizzas. I stepped up to the counter and within 30 seconds someone stepped up to take my order. Both of the young men that helped me at the counter were friendly and personable. Also was impressed that they frequently send people around to bus the tables to clear up pizza plates and such. Good service. The pricing is a tad high in my opinion but you get what you pay for. For that reason I want to acknowledge that $25+ (after tax/tip) can be a little steep for a pizza (depending what kind you get) but when the pizza is delicious and made to order, I really can't complain, only note of it for those who get easily worked up on pricing. Im a sucker for if it tastes good I'll likely go over my budget lol. Back to the pizza, we had the fennel sausage (hold the peppers) NY style pizza and the brick pizza the Speck and Arugula. Both pizzas were so freaking tasty we were in heaven. Super fresh and right out of the oven. Perfectly cheesy and they don't skimp on the toppings. The fennel sausage pizza was our # 1 favorite though. They know how to make a real NY style pizza!! Finally! Im addicted. The speck arugula was also a nice change from the traditional pizzas and the flavors were fantastic. Slightly salty (in a good way) and the cold lightly dressed arugula made this pizza memorable. We live around the area so we find ourselves getting food from Freda's often. The pizza is absolutely where it's at. Nothing else (especially not the salads) is worth trying imo. We came here and we're excited to check out their menu. My daughter had cheese pizza which she enjoyed. I ordered the beet salad but they were out of the honey goat cheese and offered to replace that with mozzarella. They did not put any mozzarella on it and there was almost no dressing, if any. I ended up requesting a side of dressing. The salad was underwhelming. They didn't put ice in the ice tea so we had to request ice. They had a Italian salad listed but it wasn't available yet. They had another item that looked good but also said "coming soon." My salad was no bueno. My mom had a sandwich with short rib and it was good. There's a magical hour in the day, right before the evening, say 4-5, that one drink goes a long way. Now you don't get drunk off this one drink, but it does something magical. Anyways, now that you know my pizza review will be biased based on this elevated feeling of oneness with beer, I can say the pizza was damn good. My dad always told me, you determine a good pizza based off a plain cheese pizza. Toppings can mask the quality of the basics, so we went with the 18 inch NY cheese pizza. I was eating it like I just ran a marathon, ravenous and with no regret, only today was my off day. Afterwards I headed down the street with my kids to top it off with a Mr. Softies cone. Man, life can be so damn stressful and complicated, but pizza, beer, and ice cream can straight up be religious if you let it be. Top notch NY style pizza on the West Coast! I'm picky with pizza, always have been, always will be. Toppers gets the job done the same way Starbucks does, you know what you're getting each time. However, remember the time you hit a local coffee shop and things just felt different? There was a love to goods and service you don't find at bigger spots? I think that's what really set the tone for Freda's; homemade quality with a local pizzeria family service. This spot hits on a few cool dynamics; easy parking, the best local brewery shares the building and you can get your kids, date, etc an ice cream after. I ordered a NY cheese, large...it came out piping hot with just the right balance of chew, structure, char and flavor on the dough. Sauce and cheese were right on the money - def had a NY feel. I can imagine the place packs up during busy hours, but the layout is spacious and clean. I can't say enough about the beauty in lining up a handful of seasonal tasters from Topa and knocking down a fresh pie.. Went to have a beer at Tapas and decided to grab some lunch here. We had the grilled cheese sandwich, Parmesan fries, and the Americano pizza. The grilled cheese was a great size and the fries it came with were plenty! The parmesan fries came in a big bowl and it was tough to even get through half of them! The sandwich and parm fries came out pretty quickly, but the pizza took over an hour. About 45 minutes in the waitress said our ticket was lost and the pizza wasn't even made and asked if we wanted a refund. We were still talking so we said we would wait. As the time went on another waitress came by and apologized that we still hadn't got the pizza and went to put a rush on it. We asked to just put it to go and took it home to enjoy. Overall the experience was good and we enjoyed our time. I think if we find ourselves back at Topas we would order again. read more

I was enjoying my lunch time with a beer at Topa Topa and I got a little hungry. The whole place is one large room shared by Topa Topa, Freda's and Rori's Artisanal Creamery. I've had ice cream for lunch but diabetes now threatens my soul. I decided I should have a proper lunch and give Freda's an old college try. I know its a pizza joint but I was feeling like a sandwich type of lunch. I decided to get tthe cubano sandwich and mixed salad. The cubano sandwich was tasty and really flavorful. The bread was perfectly toasted. The salad was actually my favorite. Super light and simple. I was impressed with the place and more impressed by how fast they prepared my meal. Since they ARE a pizza restaurant, that would probably be my next meal! There is plenty of seating inside and in the outside patio but parking can be a drag during the busy days. I finally found time to stop by for their weekday lunch specials and it was pretty good. We have been here for dinner before and their pizzas were tasty and fresh. Their lunch specials were just as good and the best part was that it was a good portion. I got their slice of pepperoni and it was fresh and tasty. My wife got the El Diablo and salad lunch special. You can tell their ingredients are quality and the salad looked very fresh and pretty large for a side of salad. I also ordered their house chips and cheese dip, and it didn't disappoint. I'm a big fan of cheese sauce and it complemented the potato chips well. This place can get pretty packed in the evenings, so definitely stop by for their lunch specials to avoid the crowd. The venue is in a great location in Old Town Camarillo and offered spacious indoor and outdoor seating. It can get pretty loud in the restaurant, but you are spaced out enough so your not so close to other tables. read more

Decent pizza joint here. When they get it right the pizza is a very good NY style pizza. But they are very inconsistent. For example, you might buy two pizzas here and one will be great -- crispy thin crust, tangy sauce, salty melty browned cheese that combines with the tomato sauce to hit those magic NY pizza notes. And then the next one will be boring, undercooked, underseasoned and lackluster. Prices are decent, service is fine but does take them some time to turn around an order even for pick-up, and location is nice and clean. It's a welcome note that it appears to mostly be staffed and run by local kids which is nice to see... but then I think that also might lend itself to the inconsistency of their product. That being said, from the Camarillo joints I have tried so far, when Freda's gets it right they are at the top of the list. I haven't had it enough to zero in on why one of their pies might be better than another but we'll see... read more

This place is really good and I'm happy to have a nice local place to take visitors. We've had it 3 times to go over the last few weeks. Pizzas are consistent and good. The margarita is our favorite. The best thing here is the chips. Sounds weird right? House made, always crispy and when you get with the pastrami, its a knockout. They are literally phoning it in. The server set my pizza down on the dirty table, and couldn't be bothered to wipe it down. The silverware was dirty, too. I had to ask for some because instead of putting arugula leaves on my pizza line I asked, they put on a dressed, soggy pile of arugula, adding insult to an already sub-par margarita pizza. So I asked for silverware. And it was dirty. The pizza cook kept checking his phone, pulling it out of his dirty pockets and shoving it back three times, just before he handled my pizza without washing his hands. And they somehow managed to be "out" of crushed chiles, which is a challenge when you're down the street from a market. Nobody here seems to care about quality or details. I've been to Freda's twice and had amazing food both times! The pizza is phenomenal, definitely some of the best in Ventura county, and the Philly cheesesteak was also fantastic and came with a side salad that could have been a meal by itself. The location is also really cool, as it shares the space with Topa Topa brewery. They also have a large outdoor dining area. I would absolutely recommend Freda's to anyone looking for authentic NY style pizza, sandwiches, or salads in the old town Camarillo area. Looking forward to going back soon! read more

Let me say if you are looking for a lunch spot this is such a good choice for the quality of food! Freda's would make an excellent dinner spot too and offers Topa Topa beer next door. The lunch special came with a choice of a side. I choose the garden salad with balsamic. I didn't expect such a generous portion. The greens were organic, so another plus. It was beautifully constructed and so good. Would definitely consider going back just for the salad alone. The pizza was a nice size (especially for a lunch pizza). NYC style brick oven with a nice crust. The cheese to sauce ratio was pretty spot on. The sauce was perfect. The cheese was a little greasy for me but I don't usually eat much cheese. Very good fresh tasting pizza. I split the pizza with my two year old and still had one slice leftover!! The truffle fries are a decadent must! This is a nice spot for the family where there's something for everyone- pizza, beer, ice cream all in one building... what more could you want? The pizza and Buffalo wings here are very good and high quality, but on the slightly pricier side. They have brick oven and NY style with many interesting topping choices. **August 2021 Visit** Came here recently based on my friend's recommendation for my first night in Camarillo and it did not disappoint. Our part of four ordered two 12 inch pizzas, wedge salad, and truffle fries. Patrons order at the bar, given a number, and order will be delivered to the table. There are several indoor and outdoor options. Food Wedge Salad ($10.95): I rarely order salad at a pizza joint; however, I was in dire need of incorporating more greens into my diet, so I went with this one. Surprisingly this was really good. The Gorgonzola Cream Dressing had a nice bite to it and contrasted well with the crisp lettuce and juicy heirloom tomatoes. I don't regularly consume speck, but in essence it was like a thin crispy bacon which worked well. (5/5) Seasonal Mushroom and White Truffle Oil Pizza (15.95) They're very generous with the truffle oil. It's a thin pizza and felt like a more gourmet and elevated pie (4/5) Truffle Fries ($7.95): Nice steak fries style and very fragrant. Vampires would probably be scared away. I contracted with Freda's as one of the food vendors at my son's party of 200 guests. They did a great job and everyone was thrilled with the pizza, meatballs and salad. Our first party was in 2021 when Freda's Pizza had only one location in Camarillo and for years we would stop on the way going to and from Camarillo to eat there.
