Buffalo Chicken 12 inch pie
Mic F.

We have been here many times over the years. Pizza is artisanal and the price reflects that. It is good pizza though. Crust is soft yet has a crunch. They have unique combinations. Salads are big and they have a variety. Service is hit or miss to be honest. I've gone and it's been spot on, quick, and attentive. I've also gone and it's take 45 minutes for one pizza to be made. I think they have gone through new employees over the years and when it's new employees working the service can be slow. I know one time I was in there and the kid behind the register was going snails pace...unfortunately this was on the local college's graduation day so the place was packed. I should have known better. Like any place, try to go during non-peak hours. Easier said than done with work and such. We just went on a Friday at opening (12pm) and the service was fantastic. We like to sit outside in the covered patio. Parking is awful as the Blvd is always busy. Just have to pray and try to time it out nicely. I do appreciate that Freda's is next to and in same building as Rori's ice cream and Topa Topa Brewing. Pizza, ice cream, and beer/hard seltzer/ciders. And Cafe Ficelle is also next door so add good iced coffee to the mix! Good combination for a couple of hours with friends and the kids.

I really want to love this place, I keep coming back despite having a couple bad experiences. It's just so conveniently located right off the 101 in old town Camarillo, they have car-shows in old town, live music, and my kid likes the burnt pizza for some odd reason. But man, is the service ridiculously slow! 40 minutes to get a double smash burger on a Wednesday when it wasn't even that busy! The girl that brought it out even said "sorry about the wait" in a voice that indicated she says that a million times per day. All our food came out at different times, like drastically different times. My kid got his pizza by the slice pretty quickly which I'm happy about since he takes a while to eat. Then 20 minutes later, 30 minutes after we ordered, my wife got her single Wagyu beef smash-burger with truffle fries for only $2 more. Ok, now I eagerly awaited mine. In the interim I ordered another slice for my kid which again came out pretty quickly and crispy like he likes it. Finally 40 minutes after I had ordered I finally got my double smashburger and chips, complete with an unapologetic apology. It was burnt, too burnt for my tastes, but my wife's was cooked better and I got to finish hers. The taller blonde lady who appears to be the manager seems to be the hardest worker in the place, running around while the staff take their sweet time doing any and everything. It literally feels like I'm at the DMV in Zootopia with the sloths working behind the counter. This isn't the first time this has happened to me here, and it wasn't just my food that took forever. In fact as I was ordering, another patron walked up to the counter asking about their food saying it had been a while. Straight up, they need to hire better staff, like some that work with some sense of urgency and better work ethic. Even when I went to order a second slice of pizza for my kid, I sat there staring at 3 employees right in front of me, ignoring me while they talked about an achilles tear one of them had. After they finished their conversation, the cashier that had looked at me and ignored me a couple times during that conversation as I sat there at the register smiling, finally acknowledged me so that I could order. Then she turns the screen over toward me to select the tip, uh no, the tip I gave earlier was already too much for the service received as $0 would've been more appropriate.

Americano 18"

Great taste, chewy New York-style crust with just the right amount of crisp on the bottom. Better than Toppers! The portion size was generous and very satisfying, and everything tasted fresh--from the sauce to the toppings. You can tell it was made with quality ingredients. I ordered delivery, so I can't comment on the service or ambiance, but I'd definitely order this again.

Half pepperoni & half cheese pizza

More like 3.5 out of 5 stars...Freda's pizza is not the best around. Although the slices are big, the pizza is down right greasy. I had to use two napkins to blot it all off. The taste is alright and my picky eating son liked it so I guess that was a win. Depending on the time you stop in, you could either get your pizza quickly or it could take forever. This place can be either a hit or miss.

Wings - 7pc, disappointingly the size that is actually smaller than your finger.
Erwin M.

I'll keep this short and to the point. Been usually coming here for the quality of the wings. Unfortunately this time, when the wings received are the size smaller than 1/2 your finger and they actually charge you extra for ranch dressing (even when you buy the wings). That is really petty and not caring for your customers experience. If you don't charge for ketchup, why are you charging for ranch dressing?

Truffle fries
Melissa L.

We got the Truffle fries. They pretty good. They were really tasty and crispy. The service took to long for a order of fries. There wasn't allot of people and it took so long to get our order. The ambiance is modern day Pizzarea. Overall, I liked my experience.

Great band Milo Sledge on a sunny Sunday with dark stout beer and a beet salad.

Yummmmmm delicious beet salad with Topa Topa beer - the best ! Outside, sunshine, Milo Sledge band on a Sunday. Life is great! Thank you Lydia for the yummy yummers beet salad.

Bets pizza in camarillo
Archie ..

The servers are amazing, and pizza is phenomenal. The atmosphere and people here are both fantastic. Having a live band is a plus. Just to let you know, for 2 large pizzas and wings worth $80, you will have to pay a dollar per ranch dip.

From Fries to chips without even asking!!! The hardest chip ever!

The driest pizza ever! And the fries became chips! Pictures on their menu are deceiving!!! Don't fall for it! Don't waste your money!

El diablo and spinaci
Erica G.

I had a girls night out and we were so excited to try Freda's. From the moment we reached the counter, Fidel was the absolute best !! He was so friendly and happy to assist . We were not sure on what pizza to get so we got The Diablo and Spinaci in one Pizza . I believe we got the 12 inch . OMG .. so good! We were hungry for more. So I went back and got the mambo wings and fries. Also delish . Everything was a 10/10! We really enjoyed ourselves! Love the location at The Mark because you can also grab a beer or ice cream as there's shops there that offer those things. Always love visiting Cam and Old Town. So cute !! So happy this place is in our community!

It was actually bad, the crust kinda reminded me of when the kids were little and we took them to Chuck E Cheese. Regardless, the beer was good and even though it was packed Saturday night, we didn't have any issues finding a table.

So last night we ordered a bunch of food to try. Baked Ziti, BBQ salad, deep dish pizza, tenders & fries and some mozzarella sticks. When the order was delivered we were all very pleased. The portions were a good size and everything tasted great. Also, the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely add this restaurant back into our rotation.

If you don't know, this type of pizza is a deeper dish rectangle pie with crispy crust as a result of cheese being cooked on the edges and the sauce on top of the cheese and toppings. But that's not what they do here. Not even sure this qualifies as pizza. What I got was not a Detroit pizza and it was 26 bucks. The pic on the website looked amazing. What ended up in my pizza box can only be described as a hate crime. How does this happen? I even asked for it to be well done and it was still undercooked. The cheese tasted like wax. They put the sauce in containers on the side which was watery and had lacked flavor. It didn't seem like anyone knew how to make this. I tried to share it with everyone in the office. Only one other person tried it and we decided after one slice, the only humane thing to do was throw it away. I'll post the pictures and let you all be the judge.

That was a HH the likes of which will never be seen again. But I digress...TODAY is today! Great, private parking lot with easy in/out. We came in for a lovely dinner and got just that. Seated immediately and in a comfy booth along the wall, perfect for people watching. SO. MANY. PEOPLE! I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be so full on a Tuesday night, but when you're as good as Ottavio's you develop a loyal following of locals who enjoy their time here. Many celebrations were obviously being had in just our little portion of the restaurant. There are multiple rooms, accommodating various sized parties, and the hot, delicious Italian faire just kept coming. Fresh, warm bread was delivered with our water and we dove into that doughy deliciousness strait away. Hubs went with a 50/50 plate of spaghetti and cheese ravioli with a meat sauce and added meatballs. I snuck a bite of the meatballs and they were very good, as was the sauce. I opted for the Tortellini Silvana, which was described as cheese tortellini w/sauteed chicken, fresh spinach, basil and sun dried tomato cream sauce. It was FABulous! Light and delicate sauce with full flavor. A generous portion, I took about 1/2 home! Our entrees each came with a choice of soup or salad. Hubs chose Italian Wedding and I went with Minestrone. (Side note: I knew well and good I would be having 2 soups, so I wanted to try both. ;-D) Both were made from scratch and delicious! I was impressed with how fluid the staff worked along side one another.
