Buffalo Chicken 12 inch pie
Mic F.

We have been here many times over the years. Pizza is artisanal and the price reflects that. It is good pizza though. Crust is soft yet has a crunch. They have unique combinations. Salads are big and they have a variety. Service is hit or miss to be honest. I've gone and it's been spot on, quick, and attentive. I've also gone and it's take 45 minutes for one pizza to be made. I think they have gone through new employees over the years and when it's new employees working the service can be slow. I know one time I was in there and the kid behind the register was going snails pace...unfortunately this was on the local college's graduation day so the place was packed. I should have known better. Like any place, try to go during non-peak hours. Easier said than done with work and such. We just went on a Friday at opening (12pm) and the service was fantastic. We like to sit outside in the covered patio. Parking is awful as the Blvd is always busy. Just have to pray and try to time it out nicely. I do appreciate that Freda's is next to and in same building as Rori's ice cream and Topa Topa Brewing. Pizza, ice cream, and beer/hard seltzer/ciders. And Cafe Ficelle is also next door so add good iced coffee to the mix! Good combination for a couple of hours with friends and the kids.

I really want to love this place, I keep coming back despite having a couple bad experiences. It's just so conveniently located right off the 101 in old town Camarillo, they have car-shows in old town, live music, and my kid likes the burnt pizza for some odd reason. But man, is the service ridiculously slow! 40 minutes to get a double smash burger on a Wednesday when it wasn't even that busy! The girl that brought it out even said "sorry about the wait" in a voice that indicated she says that a million times per day. All our food came out at different times, like drastically different times. My kid got his pizza by the slice pretty quickly which I'm happy about since he takes a while to eat. Then 20 minutes later, 30 minutes after we ordered, my wife got her single Wagyu beef smash-burger with truffle fries for only $2 more. Ok, now I eagerly awaited mine. In the interim I ordered another slice for my kid which again came out pretty quickly and crispy like he likes it. Finally 40 minutes after I had ordered I finally got my double smashburger and chips, complete with an unapologetic apology. It was burnt, too burnt for my tastes, but my wife's was cooked better and I got to finish hers. The taller blonde lady who appears to be the manager seems to be the hardest worker in the place, running around while the staff take their sweet time doing any and everything. It literally feels like I'm at the DMV in Zootopia with the sloths working behind the counter. This isn't the first time this has happened to me here, and it wasn't just my food that took forever. In fact as I was ordering, another patron walked up to the counter asking about their food saying it had been a while. Straight up, they need to hire better staff, like some that work with some sense of urgency and better work ethic. Even when I went to order a second slice of pizza for my kid, I sat there staring at 3 employees right in front of me, ignoring me while they talked about an achilles tear one of them had. After they finished their conversation, the cashier that had looked at me and ignored me a couple times during that conversation as I sat there at the register smiling, finally acknowledged me so that I could order. Then she turns the screen over toward me to select the tip, uh no, the tip I gave earlier was already too much for the service received as $0 would've been more appropriate.

Americano 18"

Great taste, chewy New York-style crust with just the right amount of crisp on the bottom. Better than Toppers! The portion size was generous and very satisfying, and everything tasted fresh--from the sauce to the toppings. You can tell it was made with quality ingredients. I ordered delivery, so I can't comment on the service or ambiance, but I'd definitely order this again.

Half pepperoni & half cheese pizza

More like 3.5 out of 5 stars...Freda's pizza is not the best around. Although the slices are big, the pizza is down right greasy. I had to use two napkins to blot it all off. The taste is alright and my picky eating son liked it so I guess that was a win. Depending on the time you stop in, you could either get your pizza quickly or it could take forever. This place can be either a hit or miss.

Wings - 7pc, disappointingly the size that is actually smaller than your finger.
Erwin M.

I'll keep this short and to the point. Been usually coming here for the quality of the wings. Unfortunately this time, when the wings received are the size smaller than 1/2 your finger and they actually charge you extra for ranch dressing (even when you buy the wings). That is really petty and not caring for your customers experience. If you don't charge for ketchup, why are you charging for ranch dressing?

Truffle fries
Melissa L.

We got the Truffle fries. They pretty good. They were really tasty and crispy. The service took to long for a order of fries. There wasn't allot of people and it took so long to get our order. The ambiance is modern day Pizzarea. Overall, I liked my experience.

Great band Milo Sledge on a sunny Sunday with dark stout beer and a beet salad.

Yummmmmm delicious beet salad with Topa Topa beer - the best ! Outside, sunshine, Milo Sledge band on a Sunday. Life is great! Thank you Lydia for the yummy yummers beet salad.

Bets pizza in camarillo
Archie ..

The servers are amazing, and pizza is phenomenal. The atmosphere and people here are both fantastic. Having a live band is a plus. Just to let you know, for 2 large pizzas and wings worth $80, you will have to pay a dollar per ranch dip.

From Fries to chips without even asking!!! The hardest chip ever!

The driest pizza ever! And the fries became chips! Pictures on their menu are deceiving!!! Don't fall for it! Don't waste your money!

El diablo and spinaci
Erica G.

I had a girls night out and we were so excited to try Freda's. From the moment we reached the counter, Fidel was the absolute best !! He was so friendly and happy to assist . We were not sure on what pizza to get so we got The Diablo and Spinaci in one Pizza . I believe we got the 12 inch . OMG .. so good! We were hungry for more. So I went back and got the mambo wings and fries. Also delish . Everything was a 10/10! We really enjoyed ourselves! Love the location at The Mark because you can also grab a beer or ice cream as there's shops there that offer those things. Always love visiting Cam and Old Town. So cute !! So happy this place is in our community!

Pizza was excellent. The crust was perfect and sauce had a nice taste, not plain. This is a wood fired type, not NY style.

Beverages we tried the honey bear latte and blueberry colada matcha. Both were delicious, the perfect sweetness level, and fun. I'm weird and don't like eggs in my breakfast burritos which they accommodated with absolutely no issue. The California Burrito and the Spanish Burrito were hot, flavorful, and filling. Also came with sides of salad, sour cream, and fruit. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us decide what to order and checked in on us frequently as we were eating to make sure we were taken care of. The food also came quickly. Plenty of seating inside, I didn't see tables outside but there's ledges to sit on. Also there's a bathroom for customers. Would highly recommend you try this spot!! I ordered the blueberry colada matcha since it's nothing like I've had before and I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Oh literally said, "oh wow!" Wasn't expecting the blueberry and coconut flavors to be so present and fresh tasting. It was a bit on the sweeter end but very good nonetheless. I also ordered a danish and that sadly wasn't the greatest. It was a little too cold and hard. Service was friendly. The only issue with the shop is that in the short amount of time I was in and out ordering my drink, I left smelling like restaurant. You know that food/grease smell that sticks to your clothes? Yup, that one! I even stepped outside to wait for my drink and was still a victim. So bummed about that so hoping they can figure out better circulation for all customers, especially those like me who weren't even in there long. I will be back again in the future. Looking forward to giving their other drinks and food options a shot.

It's crazy how you can live in a town for 10 years and never have tried some restaurants (I am…read moresorry Lombardos!) I love a good Italian sub and remembered that this place is in Camarillo and decided to get them through DoorDash one day. My review unfortunately has to leave out customer service and atmosphere as I didn't go inside. I will say they are a great spot to order from as their delivery is A+. My order was all made to order correctly and packaged nicely for the transport. Easy peasy if you want a sub and some sides to go. I would rate the food overall 4 stars and was happy with my meal. -I started with the Italian sub which was a solid 4.5/5. The bread was soft and fresh. The Italian cold cuts were loaded up and it was a generous sandwich. Loved the sides and dressings. Lots of good sandwich shops in Camarillo and this one should definitely be added to your list. -Macaroni salad is a solid 5/5! I saw my friend Jess B. Gave their macaroni salad a rave review so I had to order it. It was in fact delicious and I'll go back here again just to grab some sides of this. Super tasty and if you like a mayo based macaroni salad this one was so good. -Personal preference, skip on the deviled eggs. I like a more mayo forward deviled egg and these were heavy mustard forward. Some people will like that and then maybe these are for you. I just felt like the filling lacked a creaminess that I like and since I don't love mustard I wouldn't get them again. I know deviled eggs are a labor of love so I do appreciate them having these on their menu. Lombardos was a solid 4/5 in my book as the sandwich was delicious and I'd definitely come back for that macaroni salad. I need to check them out in person next time.

I figured we would get something that I could tolerate and it would be okay - generic dining. I did not expect to actually have something to write about. But I was wrong. The grilled chicken they serve with the Chaufa is very nicely seasoned. It is bits of breast meat, grilled with a little char and adds depth to the otherwise mild flavor of the rice dish. My husband had Chaufa with shrimp, which I didn't sample but he ate the entire meal without complaint. We ordered the pork belly bites to start. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I enjoyed this appetizer so much that I know I will order it again. If I have the chaufa again, I would definitely have it with the pork belly. I ordered the lemonade and was puckering in a good way. Honestly, it tasted more like limeade than lemon. I was happy it wasn't too sweet because I could really enjoy the refreshing citrus flavors. I would go there just for a lemonade. They serve it icy cold in mug style, mason jar glass. Our friend ordered the iced tea and when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the fresh fruit in the clear glass, frosted over from the cold and ice. So nice. He said the herbs and fruit were a good combination. The wife of the owner waited on us. She is understated, friendly and efficient. We didn't have much of a wait as it looked as though we might have just missed the breakfast/brunch rush. I was impressed with how quickly we received our food. If we hadn't just eaten there a couple days ago, I would have gone to Azafran for dinner tonight. I look forward to making it a favorite local place where I can introduce our visitors to a good neighborhood restaurant.
