Fred Meyer takes the u card which is a healthcare card but when I went to pick up my groceries they weren't able to take my payment from my UCard, and I wasn't able to get out and shop because I just had surgery and I wasn't able to get my groceries because they don't accept the new card when you pick up groceries. It doesn't make sense you can't use your UCard when you pick up groceries but you can use it inside the store. This was a major inconvenience for me considering I just had a major surgery and I wasn't able to walk in the store! read more

I love this store, I shop there regularly. Very clean, nice staff, great selection. My wife and I have recently started using their home delivery service, we love it, fast and so convenient. Last time we used it the personal shopper got our groceries and then charged our account for almost $100 for themselves. My wife got ahold of a CSR named Brian and he took care of us excellently, huge kudos to him. When my wife got ahold of an on site manager she was dismissed like it wasnt their problem, University Place , WA. Well we used their app to spend our money at their store and one of "their" employees stole from us, could be an instacart employee. This is my type of store for sure. Neither my husband and I weren't familiar on this store but since stepping in for the first time I immediately appreciate how clean and neat the store is. My Titas are vegetarian and pescatarian so their fridge don't have meat that bandit wants so my Tita suggested to do some groceries on one of her favorite grocery stores. This location has lotsa parking space & I am so glad that we went to this one. Not only we got meat for bandit but we got a pretty good deal on produce. I got a pleasant surprise on their items and it was a fun grocery shopping. The vibes feels like a combination of Target and Safeway. I'm leaving them two stars because the produce is fresh and there's a lot of variety. They're near my house so I stop there fairly often and I virtually always find it unpleasant even when picking up just a few items like today. One has to be totally vigilant not to get cheated. I got about a dozen items and two of them didn't ring up at the expected price. Sometimes they put that you have to buy up to 8 identical items to get the sale price but they put it in miniscule print below the huge letters stating there is a sale. Today I bought an avocado which was supposed to be $1.49. When it rang up $2.99 I called the clerk over and she said it was "probably a digital sale." I don't think so. The avocadoes in the bin were almost all rotten. I had to feel a lot before I found an acceptable one. I think they were on sale because they were rotten. Then I tried to buy a mineola about the size of a navel orange. The scale said it weighed roughly a pound and it rang up for $4.99 for one! I can hardly believe the scale weighed it correctly at one pound but a lot of people don't watch the prices ring up and don't know the exorbitant prices they are paying. And the clerks always use an aggrieved tone and act like you are stupid while they explain the problems are your fault. I try to go to Trader Joe's most of the time where the employees are always pleasand they don't try to trick you with the prices; it's just a much longer drive. read more

This Fred Meyer is very clean, well-stacked, and well-maintained. I can find everything here from clothes, shoes, home decor, furniture, gardening and sporting goods. They also have ready to eat food like sushi, sandwiches and hot chicken wings... Prices are affordable and I can always find what I need. This is my go-to grocery store since I moved to University Place. I can feel the friendly familiarity when I shop here. They have so many self-checkout stands which is very convenient for a quick checkout. The check out line are normally short though. It has great weekly sales so I can save more for my daily essentials. read more

I was just at FM 7-1-2023 @ 1:30p and asking someone for assistance the person was rude; and when checking out prices were checking out, ringing up, differently than what was marked. For example, mangoes were suppose to be 0.99 cents each and they were ringing up as $1.50 with card. My wife went back took a photo of the sign and brought it up to the register. Told a manager also at the register, big blonde lady, she ignored us completely. We spend about $500 a month there....will will no more....looking for somewhere else to shop. read more

Great selection and usually awesome deals and this has been a weekly shopping spot for quite some time... Unfortunately, I have gotten tired of being unable to use the app for coupons and deals inside of the store so I don't think we will be shopping at this location anymore. Additionally, even when I get there on the day new deals come out, they're out of the items anyway and won't do rain checks anymore... The service used to be great but the last couple of months, the baggers always squish my groceries and shove my bread in the weirdest places and usually a couple of my eggs are cracked when I get home, even though I thoroughly check them before putting the carton in my cart and I'm careful with my bags. My produce is often damaged also. To remedy this I started using the self check out, which is totally fine, but it's disappointing because I really enjoyed chatting with the cashiers upon check out. The biggest headache is that I can't take advantage of deals in-store by scanning barcodes, as you're supposed to be able to do - to use them, I sit at home or in the parking lot for 20 minutes beforehand and go through and just click every coupon I might possibly need. There is absolutely no cell service and this is a well-known problem and it wouldn't be a big deal if their Wi-Fi worked... Most of the time it won't connect and even if I can't get connected, I still can't get the app the load in-store. just too many inconveniences to keep shopping here, so I think we will find a different spot. read more

This is our neighborhood grocery store, and I'm willing to start inconveniencing myself by driving further. THE PHARMACY IS THE WORST!! There's always confusion. I've honestly never had a seamless experience. I fill my orders via the automated system, receive a text saying the prescription is ready, but when I get there am told it'll take 20 minutes. This is consistent, which makes me think that their just jumping the system to make corporate think they're getting things done, but they never are! It's an inconvenience. I suspect they are in an unfortunate situation where they face job insecurity, but the pressure helps HQ ignore the fact that they are understaffed. The store manager needs help with retention. This store has such high turnover! The employees seem overworked. My review is not so much to rail against the employees, but to bring attention to management and Kroeger's who are putting their employees in bad situations. The meat selection is actually pretty good, however, and the folks always helpful. I can never find simple things like spicy enchilada sauce (only mild), hoisin sauce, etc. Like, who is ordering the products? Our Instacart shoppers can never find stuff because they are oddly placed or constantly moving stuff. Like I said, this is our neighborhood store and when I go in things are always moved in non intuitive or inconvenient places. Does anyone shop in the jewelry store? I've never seen not one person in the electronic section. Very few people in the clothing sections. Maybe close those sections down and staff the pharmacy and grocery better?!! Do better! read more

One of the cashiers is so rude every time I go. And now the self check outs have cameras that force you to wait for a cashier to review video footage if it feels* like you didn't scan all your items. Then the cashier reviews the footage like you're a criminal. This Fred Meyer had been going to ish for awhile. This cemented it. My boyfriend and I come to Fred Meyer almost everyday and recently we've noticed employees and even the security guard following us. We have never committed a crime and don't act suspicious. I think it's ridiculous they treat loyal customers this way. I would hate to think they a profiling us because of the way we look because we often go after the gym. This Fred Meyer has very bad internet connection. When you offer digital coupons you need to be sure they can be utilized. Talked to Barb first due to digital coupons issue. She helped at self checkout and got very frustrated because the digital did not work and tried a manual override. The roast was 47.02 USD but it suppose to be 4.97 per pound and the meat was 6.90 pounds. So she took off 10 USD and when I tried to point out this was not enough she got more annoyed and said it took already 6.50 USD off and she added another 10.00. To avoid friction I did not reiterate that it is not enough and just let the transaction complete just to prove my point that it was only 10.00 and not 16.50 she took off as the 6.50 reflected the cooks ham discounted and not the rip eye roast. To my dismay she now had to send me your customer service as she saw in the receipt that what she claimed to be correct was not correct because actually the total amount off was suppose to be 17.70 to reflect the right price. I was not going to picker back and forth with her as she had a very annoyed disposition. So I was willing to have 16.50 taken off and eat the additional 1.20 USD just for the sake of peace. But since the transaction was handled incorrectly I now was advised I need to go to customer service. I now stood in line 30 min that could have been fixed if she would have listened to the customer in the first place. Now I am speaking to Charlene at customer service who also had a negative vibe when I tried to explain what happened. She rolled her eyes and put her finger on her mouth to silence me before I could explain my dilemma. After she rectified the issue I told her kindly she should not silence a customer when they have a problem and wanted to explain why I felt a need to explain what happened so I won't have another discrepancy with the pricing of the ribeye roast . She told me it did not matter what I said she knew I was going to be mad anyway she works there 4 years and she just knows and gave me a dirty look. Like I don't care it's done now move on I do not care what you have to say. I told her I am very frustrated as I shop here and by the way my whole family shops there longer then her 4 years as it is more like a decade and more for me and I am not happy with the customer service at all. I wasted over 1 hr because of this mishap just to be treated careless and rude on top of it. Shame on your staff of Fred Meyer. Be kind is a free gesture. Listen to your customers and stop being defensive. The top of the cake is she gave me the card of the manager and when I called it was her in the phone at customer service. Warning - this is a long post... Sadly, after the purse snatching incident today, I will no longer be shopping at this location or any others for that matter. This was & will remain my go to store for weekly shopping, but it will be online for pick up/delivery as I don't feel it's as safe inside there now as in the past. I've been a loyal customer to this store for 7+ years, usually shopping in person, but started doing the pick up option a few months before the lockdowns of 2020. They were going through a remodel & it was very hard to find items as the stock was moved around quite a bit. Lately with the restrictions lifted, i started shopping in store again. While I briefly looked away for maybe 15 seconds to grab an item off of the shelf, someone swooped in & snatched my purse right out of the cart (child seat). The sheer brazenness & quickness of their actions left me astonished, pissed off, & panicked. Whoever took my purse now had my car & house keys, along with my ID which lists my home address. Luckily, I caused such a commotion & so quickly that this person decided not to get busted with it & supposedly dumped it inside another cart that was found sitting in an aisle not far from the Cust. Service desk by "another shopper", who brought it over to them. Perhaps this was the actual thief him/herself? While I was outside, checking that my car wasn't stolen too, a staff member called me back inside, as they now had my purse. One of the lady workers said, in a very patronizing manner, "You must have just grabbed the wrong cart because your purse was found inside this empty cart down aisle number, blah blah blah..." I corrected her, as that was NOT the case because #1 how the heck could I have "grabbed the wrong cart" when I NEVER took my hand off the handle of the cart I had been using already, which by the way #2 wasn't empty because I had been shopping for at least 10 minutes before this incident occurred and finally #3 I never went down that particular aisle, so how did my purse end up there without me? Honestly, the nerve of that woman! I wish I had taken notice of her name tag. The other staff members were so much more empathetic & willing to jump in to help me. Kudos & big praises to the young blonde female cart attendant who quickly took a description of my car & my purse. She rushed out to the parking lot to see if she could spot any suspicious behavior. Mainly someone just walking around pointing my key remote, trying to find where my car was parked. I was too rushed & upset to take down her name. Luckily the thief didn't steal anything out of my purse & all the contents were accounted for. My biggest fear was that this person would show up at my house tonight while we were sleeping or while we were out one day. My husband thinks that this person may have been following & watching me in the store. They waited for the perfect opportunity when my gaze turned away momentarily. Thanks, but I'll leave the stalker thieves at the store & shop online from now on... Let this serve as a warning to all ladies... make that to all in store shoppers - be mindful of your surroundings & vigilant about keeping a close eye on your bag (and your kids too). If you must put your purse in the cart, then use the child safety belt to loop it through your purse strap/handle or put it in the cart with the groceries (not on the child seat). I usually do the seat belt trick but was in a bit of a rush today & completely forgot to secure my purse to the seat. A mistake I won't repeat anytime soon! read more

I am wondering if it's possible for a pharmacist and their pharmacy techs to be any more rude than the staff at this Pharmacy? Could they possibly have attended the Charles Manson School of charm. They are consistent, in how rude inefficient and incorrect they can possibly be. Seriously one of my favorite stores. Not sure why I never reviewed them prior but here it goes...when I first moved to Washington State I had never heard of or stepped into a Fred Meyer store. Boy did I miss out! I find this store absolutely fantastic, its not quite a Target nor is it like Wal-Mart, Fred Meyer is on a different level. The facility is quite clean and so much variety. Pricing can be a hit or miss. They have wonderful prices on clothing and beauty products but I find that sometimes the food market section can be a bit pricey on some items that are otherwise more affordable at Safeway or other grocery stores. I've never had any problems with finding anything and I've also never had bad customer service so my visits to the store have always been pleasant!! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great shopping experience!! read more

The prices at this place got me scared but this place is packed with people! Every item sold at this place is like hot lava! You wanna touch it but you know if you do you'll get burned! I go to this Fred Meyer almost every single day, and although they usually are stocked on the items I need, their employees are pretty terrible. They stop letting people in 20 minutes before closing and also rush customers who are shopping when it's close to their store closing. They are very rude about it and speak very condescending to their customers. I like shopping here every once in a while. Most times I can get everything here from grocery, clothing, home decor as well as plants. They have a wide section of organic food. The cashiers are always nice and friendly but the customer service where you go in for returns are not so friendly. They never greet you or smile. There's machines for lottery tickets which I wish they make it available at the customer service. Parking is spacious but today someone parked too close to me. Typical fred Meyer location. It's a Kroger with a department store attached to it. Basically a more upscale, more expensive Walmart. Some things are priced well here. Other things are on the spendy side, especially for store brand items. Okay, now that my rant is out of the way, let me get to the store and my shopping experience: Fred Meyer is a bit more expensive that Target, Wal-Mart, etc. Who the hell cares. They are your serious one stop shopping venture filled with every item imaginable and helpful staff to help you find it. The layout is a bit confusing but as I said - HELPFUL STAFF will help you find whatever you need. I mean, every isle I walked down someone was there with "may I help you?" I initially went the wrong direction. I headed to the clothing items. Impressive selection! While not the highest of quality, the fashions offered were trendy and I know something about trendy dressing. Just saying. I did not see any bedding items in the clothing section (DUH) so I inquired if they sold bedding. With a smile the clerk said, "yes! back of the store to your left." On my walk to the bedding section, I was overwhelmed by the goods in the isles. I mean they had EVERYTHING! Every snack, food, drink imaginable. And for the 3rd time - HELPFUL STAFF! Bedding selection was perfect. They actually had a bigger selection than Target so I'm glad I came here. The price was cheaper than the allergy mattress covers on-line, too. Motorized carts are always broken. Was in the other day and found 6 carts broken. Even one of the new ones was broken. Have asked several times and their explanation is the repair men are coming tomorrow. It's always tomorrow. Their clothes are cheap. There is a new brand DIP, very very cheap. I used to love Fred Meyer way back in the day when it used to be in "Lakewood" and not University Place. This specific Fred Meyer has always had bad cell reception. I'm not sure why but it seems to be the entire 'parking lot' as well. They offer free wifi but it doesn't work very well (kicks you off, forces you to log back in, etc). They also no longer offer the BECU ATM but now offer Chase instead. It was one of the few locations in Lakewood that you could hit a 'BECU' atm without having to go to a BECU center. read more

I quit going to FM when they 'remodeled' and made it so you have to walk the entire length of the damn store to get out of an aisle.
