Our very first time dropping by this Target location since we happened to be around the area in Tacoma on Friday, 6/19/26. Browsed around and found 3 things from the Toys' section we liked. And since there was a deal for $10 off if you bought $40 worth of Kids' toys, we chose to get 3 items. Looked around the Electronics' section, Toys, Men's and Women's clothing aisles, Drinks and Snacks. There weren't too many items that looked interesting or for sale. read more

I go in and shop mostly for groceries without being bugged. Their food area isn't as large as many of the other stores in the area yet they still have a decent selection of fresh and frozen foods. The fresh raspberries have flavor, when I can get there before they are bought up, the large avocados are great. Smaller ones are okay but I like the big bass avocados the best. A lot of the common things one buys in a market are on either side heading back to the checkout stand. For the single person looking for toss in the microwave and eat options it's fine. Only 4 pre-made salad options and for an old farm boy like me, iceberg lettuce is too common an element of salads. The cilantro salad is going to be my lunch meal. We'll see about if it's a 7 or higher. No one suddenly carries spinach salads but they have many ingredients to put on one, including bags of fresh baby spinach. Oh, and the A/C works in the store too! People there are usually helpful if you have questions. The only thing I miss is having pre-boiled egg packs on hand. read more

Target is my store for a lot of things, including the all natural bamboo toilet paper brand REEL. I love that at this Tacoma location, they offer the big box, and smaller 4-pack. My local one does not carry that smaller package. It's also where I get my decently priced all natural gummy snacks. They'll usually have more than one brand to choose from. And by using the Target card, you get 5% off along with any pre-selected coupons and offers. With so many deals, why wouldn't you get the card. read more

Tried to call to speak to a manager at 9:20pm about an issue for granddaughter who was returning to the store with $500 cash, so they could help her get in and get her purchases after having issues with her credit card not working. They told her if she didn't get back with her payment that night before 10:00, they would put all her things back and she would have to search them out again. I couldn't get through to anyone, no answer or someone hung up. So I asked to be transferred from the electronics line and asked to speak to a manager and they put be on hold and then hung up on me. Spent over 30 minutes trying to talk with someone and only able to talk with one clerk who wasn't interested in helping and was the one who put me on hold. So very poor customer service. read more

My family and I stopped by for some odds and ends while visiting Tacoma from out of state. I'm not sure if this store is closing soon or if they have missed multiple shipments of product, but there were so many empty shelves! The layout of the store was also weird- haphazard displays and a large area right in the middle of the store full of boxes furniture. One of the things I have loved about Target nationwide is how aesthetically pleasing the store is-with nice displays of products. But here, everything was still in boxes and dumped into a pile. Went for vodka, face razors, body razors, and aftershave. Had to wait for an associate at each stop of the way at a glass case. Then I wait in line and self checkout and after I get to the end and finish bagging all my stuff they tell me no alcohol in self checkout. I say sorry I didn't realize, she asks if I wanna continue. I said yes? She takes the alcohol and makes me wait in line and checkout seperate for it. I get that rules are rules but this whole experience has been so ridiculous and time wasting I am never coming back! Treated like a criminal. Best way to reduce sales? Keep everything behind a glass case and make people wait 5+ minutes for help. At this point they gotta give me a personal shopper with keys cause everything is behind a case these days read more

I have been shopping at this Target for 10 years but not very much in the past couple years. There are two main reasons. First, they now lock up personal care items and you have to buzz for a clerk to show up and unlock the case. I don't feel comfortable trying to look at labels and compare items with a harried and impatient clerk breathing down my neck, and I definitely am not going to have a clerk handing me feminine hygiene and family planning items. Second, the variety of merchandise has gone down. I went in yesterday to pick up hummus and gluten-free crackers for a meeting. They had neither. No hummus? What's up with that? What a waste of 15 minutes, walking around looking for hummus and then for a clerk to verify for me that they no longer carry hummus. So that's the end of my relationship with Target. If you want to buy a bunch of fuzzy crop-tops or cheap plastic accessories, this is your place. If you're just trying to pick up basic food and household items, good luck. Bye-bye, Target. read more

Every health item seemed to be locked up and you would need to call someone to help. Normal target layout. This store has implemented the modern open concept. Employees were nice. I was in the Tacoma area to run a marathon, so I stopped in here to buy some drinks. Everything was well organized in the drinks section, so the items that I was looking for were easy to find. The prices were also pretty reasonable. Since I only had a couple of items, I got in line to use one of the self checkout kiosks. I normally enjoy buying things at Target. The store is always cleaner than Walmart. Items are usually easy to find and competitively priced. At this Target the shelf tags are wrong (lower) than what is charged about 4 out of 10 times!!! Clerks never offer to have an item price checked or honor the posted price. They also deceptively leave old sale tags up. It happens so much, it makes me wonder if it is intentional to take advantage of shoppers. Also, five minutes before closing staff badger shoppers to line up at the check stand where only one or two clerks are working. Hurry up and wait. I don't get paid to shop, so don't treat me like a lazy employee! And stop overcharging people! read more

There were several items I wanted that were locked up under key and no one came to help me open up the case after ten minutes of waiting. So they lost $100 from me of potential purchases. It's one thing to lock stuff up, but at least staff the store during the five o'clock rush to have staff available to assist. I'm not going to beg. read more

I'm not sure what the issue is but ever since they remodeled the store is always trashed and staff looks miserable. This store opens at 8 am I was in there at 10. There are never any employees cleaning or straightening merchandise. This mess did not happen in the first 2 hours of them being open. Everytime I try to get something out of the lock cabinets and hit the call sensor, no one shows up. I wasted about 25 mins of my time standing there and asking multiple people to open the lock. Either no one has the keys or no one bothers to show up. Super frustrating. read more

I have to say that every time I come in here, I am frustrated by the mess, the significant amount of beauty products that are out-of stock, and the outrageously long lines. I felt like I was back at home surrounded by mess that I needed to clean up. My partner wanted to buy something behind a case, and rang the bell to get help, but after waiting about 10 minutes we decided to just leave. My last review from a few years ago was a two star review. Since then it's gotten worse and my visits here are so much less frequent. Part of it was with item availability which has been an ongoing situation for years here. Stops made here were for very basic items. They would have like detergents or health and beauty supplies which I knew they had. Right now the place is going through a remodel and while it looks like it's heading towards the end of it it is a hot mess. Softlines (clothing) is the worst of all with organization. The men's section gets sandwiched between the women's section which makes no sense. Detergents are confusing to find too. Certain departments don't even have signage so you don't even know where they are. The book section for example. Just terrible. I don't know if they plan to rearrange everything yet again when the remodel is done or what but they definitely took several steps backwards. Other neighboring cities have Targets and I think I'll go to those for what looks like an indefinite period of time. Item availability seems to be better at those stores as well. read more

I am tired. Just tired. I have ordered using drive-up several times and it's been...okay. However, four times now I have ordered a certain item - app says it's in stock - and they cancel it because it's out of stock. I get it. People buy stuff. Cool. But each time they cancel I don't get a notice of the cancellation for hours. Can you tell me it's cancelled when it's actually canceled? May not sound like a big deal but it matters. And PS - I do find it a little hard to believe that the last 4 times I've tried to order this item, the app says it's in stock and apparently in the two hours it takes to fulfill my order, the items have mysteriously disappeared. I ordered 3 books online for pickup for the first time. Everything went smoothly until I looked at the books later on after I had already left. Upon looking at my books I found several stickers that are notorious for being hard to take off not only on the backs of the books but also on the front cover over the title. I may be over reacting just a bit because I love books so much but I don't want to buy a book that is defaced in any way, especially not with stickers that leave residue. The store is always clean. Feels like it's never fully stocked. I guess everyone wants what I want. The lack of stars on my review however is due to there always being an employee sitting on the ground looking homeless at the front door every time I enter. It just looks trashy and unprofessional. For 15 dollars an hr you'd think they uphold some kind of standard. Updating, because I saw some employee looking homeless smoking cigarettes by the entrance again. Went to North Tacoma for my son's birthday to buy some Legos. He picked out a set on the shelves but we had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to come unlock the cabinet. At checkout, the register flagged the set as being unable to be sold until 8/1. The cashier and the supervisor were sympathetic but the manager was VERY unsympathetic and indifferent to our issue. Bought a jar of pickles from them and wondered why all my groceries smelled like pickle. Juice was leaking from the sides and I guess there's something extra pickling in the jar. It was one of the few jars that was stocked on the bare shelf so i didn't have much choice. I wouldn't advise even walking through the grocery aisle. I go to this Target several times a week. Today I had to restock the kids lunch supplies for school. While I was at the self-check out one of the employees asked to look inside my small crossbody bag. I let her look but I was very offended. No one wants to feel like they're being accused of stealing. when I realized she wasn't checking any of the other women around me I said loudly, "Are you checking everyone's bag or just mine?" I have never been a fan of Target until I started couponing - oh please, don't hate (and no, I'm not one of those couponers that clear out shelves, nor do I hold up lines). They have a bunch of coupons (cartwheel, mobile/ad coupons) that you can use on top of each other which is great because you can actually save more money. Imagine all the sales and promotions they have when I use those coupons together! Score! Besides the fact that they have good deals, they also have great quality products unlike their blue competitor. I was a fan of Walmart back in the days (aka six months ago) but after experiencing the Target experience, I haven't been the same since. As for the store and the location, it's pretty decent. Customer service is good. A lot of the workers on the floor are super friendly. They always ask me if I need any assistance. I do get annoyed when a bunch of them ask me for help and I don't need it, but when I actually need help, no one is around. I'm glad they have those red phones for assistance. Anyway, I've only experienced bad service twice, both cashiers. At first they were nice but after they saw be bust out my coupons from my wallet, their smiles disappeared and a sassy tone miraculously appeared, on both occasions. I hate that I have to now stereotype when I look for cashiers but I got to do what I got to do to have a smooth, headache-less transaction. No regrets! read more

I am also guilty of being a Target shopaholic. I can never spend my money on just the one thing i need. This location is great. Although it's in an extremely congested shopping plaza, parking is vastly available. They do offer drive up orders, which I've done once before. They make it very easy and convenient. Order through their app, pay, and follow the instructions for pick up. The app asks for you to alert the store when you're on the way. Once you're there, click on the next button that says "I'm here", and there will be a team member to meet you. You will be required to give them a code to ensure you are who you say you are before they hand you the goods. The store itself is large, with plenty of cashiers, they have self check out stations, and a Starbucks to reward yourself after your trip. I appreciate their customer service. They will go above and beyond, make sure if a transaction is incorrect, they will fix it ASAP, or even make small talk while they ring you up. I personally use coupons when i shop here sometimes, and i praise Target so much on this, because they abide by those rules and their own coupon policies. Target has amazing deals in all of their departments at certain times. Especially when you get a Target gift card when you spend X amount of dollars on certain products. The reason for my 4 out of 5 stars is because their meat/veggie/frozen section is usually limited or out of something. Not sure if it's just my luck when i go, or if it's a normal thing. Aside from that, the store is pretty clean, you can find almost everything you need in one store, and you will want to come back.
