very dissapointed to be writing this review, and I hate to do it. This is for hobbylobby in general... I couldn't find hobbylobby on trustpilot to review them overall which is... suspicious. But, I used to LOVE hobby lobby! They used to have pretty good sale prices, at least. I think they're still an ok deal for some items, but not craft items, or at least the majority of craft items, anymore. Granted, there are some things you can ONLY find at hobby lobby, or find them there for that cheap. But overall, since the price increases, its simply not worth it for what you get. And they do have MANY overpriced items as well. But most of the discount items are home good items, which are depressing. And I will NOT shop at Michaels... and I don't think I'm legally allowed to publicly say why. But trust me. Maybe shop locally and support good local businesses and reuse stores instead. I personally think its worth it . Though not all local shops are run by good people, just something to keep in mind as well. Overall, I will still shop here. But only on sale, and for things that are unique and I can't find literally anywhere else. Or if I want a girls day out and can afford to, and feel like, "splurging". I will say, customer service is always great here, at least at the puyallup one. So that makes it worth it as well, if you don't really care about the money, and enjoy spending here. it states on their signs 50% off of frames and cards in this that and the other it doesn't say oh not gifts I bought it Winnie the Pooh little 6 x 9 or something like that frame and it didn't come off half off when I told the girl that's how far she goes. Oh it's a gift it's not half off well that's wrong and then she started to sit there and argue with me and I said no give me the manager so that I could go over and show him. You wouldn't do nothing either so I'm not going back to the store. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Been to this location a couple times now and always have a really bad experience with some of the older employees. They don't have very much patience nor do they seem to show proper customer service etiquette. Lakewood location is the better options if you are wanting better customer service from all employees. read more

The selection was awesome. Finding what I wanted, a breeze. Checking out, a nightmare. I don't come here often but usually when I do it's always chaos at the register. It's a busy Saturday night on South Hill. Why is there only two registers open? Why is a greenhorn running one of only two registers on a Saturday? I saw a multitude of workers buzzing around the store but no reinforcements called to the front. This place is poorly managed and I will be shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

Service was prompt and friendly. Selection was about what you'd expect at any hobby lobby, and there's always a bargain to be found.

The 5 stars are for the extra nice older gentleman that assisted with carrying out the shelf I bought that was too big to fit in my car (doh!) But he went back in the store to retrieve some string and cardboard to see if he could at least get the trunk door to stabilize and stay half shut. He was so nice and didn't judge me for being an idiot for buying something too big for my vehicle lol. Thank you and these 5 stars are for you! read more

I'm not a fan of hobby lobby for other reasons, but they do have the cheaper options for paint/craft supplies. My experience hasn't been bad at all. It's easy to access, enough customer parking, everybody has been friendly, I've always found what I needed, and the shelves are always stocked. Some previous posters mentioned they were mislead on some sale items. I can't say I've had that experience at all and I've been here a lot. I'm not sure if this luck or because I read the sale and fine print before I make a purchase. ‍ My only criticism here is that they really need to improve the lines at check out. Sometimes they'll have only two cash registers open and the lines get extremely long because of it. read more

This is a pretty good store. The staff are fairly friendly and helpful. The fabric counter actually cuts fairly well and they have a wide assortment of fabric. The thing I hate is the fact that the sales are so bizarre and signs are so vague. They need to do barcode scanning so that check out goes faster than it currently does. read more

I thought it was going to be great having a Hobby Lobby in the Puyallup area. Boy was I wrong! The associates at this location are rude and confrontational...especially one of the gals that works in the fabric/ribbon department. When I asked to speak with a manager regarding her behavior, all he did was make excuses for his employee...stating that maybe she was having a bad day. And?? You don't get to mistreat random customers just because you're having a bad day. Also, not even an apology on his end. On another occasion, a different associate was walking around picking up items in the wrong department and putting them in their rightful places. She came down the aisle my friend and I were shopping and proceeded to stare us down (super uncomfortable and awkward), and when we said we didn't put that item there, she sarcastically asked us how it got there then. It's like all of the employees in this particular location are trained and encouraged to belittle the customers. I've never received anywhere near such rude treatment at the other Hobby Lobby stores. If you're down to drive the extra 20ish minutes, then shop at the Tacoma, Lakewood or Federal Way locations. The associates there have much better attitudes. They're actually really pleasant and helpful...and at least PRETEND to enjoy and appreciate their jobs. read more

My friend and I went to Hobby Lobby this last weekend. I bought a Christmas tree and it wouldn't fit in the car. An employee named Avery was assisting us to our car and was very polite while we tried to make it fit. He help us with our ideas and finally took it out of the box and that worked. I told him thanks and we were taking up so much of his time and we would figure it out. He said no problem and stayed with us until we finally had it in and secured. Wow guys way to drop the ball!!! I was in the store about 30 minutes before closing and was treated like a criminal!! There were not many people in the store like less than 10 for sure. Every section I went to they called over the intercom security scan section blah blah blah.... I was not acting strange (at least by my standards lol) I only had one item in my hand that was priced $4.99. it was so embarrassing I almost left the store but then they would have for sure thought I was stealing. As I was exiting the store after PAYING FOR MY ITEM I was basically escorted out of the building by their "LP" when I asked him why they were treating me like this he just said I don't know what you're talking about. So now I sit here in the parking lot crying writing my review to let you guys know the way you treat people is NOT OKAY! You never know what people are going thru and this experience was supposed to be an enjoyable time but instead it was a seemingly ironic shit end to a shit day. F you HL staff. read more

The sales are deceptive and the signs are meant to be deceiving to customers. Although there are many sales at all times, the sales are never for what you think. The employees are condescending and rude. The service sucks and the sales are so confusing. Make sure you know what the sales are or else they will charge you $80 for what you thought would be a $40 purchase. The fine print is so fine and confusing, I should've walked around the store with glasses on and I don't even need to wear glasses to read. It doesn't make sense how they cant accept the same coupon for another purchase from the same device. The stupid coupon is on the website with the same code for every customer. I don't like shopping there and agree that this Hobby Lobby needs some changes big time!!! There's always a long line of customers waiting while right near the registers the manager I assume is chatting with 3 or 4 other employee...very strange customer service. Making people wait while you've obviously got employees who could open up another register is poor management. read more

This is the worst hobby lobby in western Washington the employees are all extremely disrespectful, I've never seen more than one checkout line open at once. And on top of how they treat their customers (even after spending thousands of dollars there) they don't even attempt to keep any type of acrylic markers or spray paint in stock. If you're looking for a chisel tip anything at all I'd say Amazon is your best bet. For an art supply store they mostly just have home decorations which is weird because the store is right next to home goods. Won't be back read more

Joshua the manager could care less if there are 10 people in line and only one cashier, when I asked Christina the cashier to please call up somebody else as There Were Ten of us customers many with small crying children, she did however nobody came. When I ask to speak to the manager that again took 5 minutes Joshua has zero empathy and in fact blamed the customer service manager who was nowhere to be found. He didn't care that I no longer wanted to shop at this location oh, he had zero empathy and said that was just my opinion. Please Hobby Lobby find a manager who cares. read more

First time to be in store and I am surprised how clean and organized it is. Place is well lit, too, and no clutter. They have mostly what I need that Michael's don't when it comes to art. What I can't find at Michael's, they have it. But they don't have everything Michael's has either. The only thing is that their system is not up to date with what's on sale on line. I'm a big crafter. I love scrapbooking, I do it for my daughter and i go HARD with the crafts. I have never been to Hobby Lobby. It's always been a place I drive past and want to go in but never have the time or money. Yesterday I finally had my opportunity, and even better I got to share the experience with my boyfriend. Upon walking in we were not greeted, which is no big deal. But there was a cashier that watched us walk in and followed us with her eyes until we were out of sight as she called some code over the loud speaker. It was a very stressful and unenjoyable experience for both of us because the entire time we were in store, every time we would walk to a new aisle there were codes being announced over the loud speaker and employees peeking down our aisle and whispering to one another. Not once did an employee ask if they could help us find anything or say one word to us. We walked around for at least a good hour trying to find what we were looking for, all while being followed but not spoken to. After leaving the store there was a cop parked outside the doors who followed us to the car, probably on the phone with the store verifying we pair. Shortly after he left the parking lot. The moment we walked into the store the employees decided we were not to be trusted and chose to intimidate us instead of helping. If I could give less than one star I would. read more
