Total mess, zero customer service, stocking carts blocking every aisle yet nothing in stock.

If the rumor is true, that Michael's is going to take over for JoAnn Crafts, we're in trouble. Someone needs to teach the staff how to cut material/chords. I obviously wasn't paying attention at the time or I would've noticed she measured 2 yards of cord that had been spliced together. Unfortunately, by the time I realized what she had done I had thrown away the receipt. They obviously didn't take the cord back and refund my money. After dealing with a very rude person at a different location (Tukwila) I called Puyallup for help. They couldn't have been more kind! Found what we needed and had it waiting when we arrived. Even though the drive is at least twice as far from our house, this is the only location I will shop at when at home. This particular store has just about everything I need as far as high end art supplies. Ie variety of Bristol board, illustration, boards, hot, and cold press... Plenty of varieties of higher and charcoal and pastel, and also the acrylic paints that I usually use.... The staff is always helpful to find what I'm looking for and they usually pick my brain on "technical applications " on projects I'm working on, which I don't mind. Always helpful to educate. I don't know about the "crafty stuff" but I'm guessing it's all there as well. I know they have classes always displayed. read more

I could not have asked for a better experience at a craft store. I had an idea of what I was looking for but not solidified in my head when I asked a very sweet lady Sonia a question and she took all the time to help me put together what all I needed for my vision . 100% recommend this store as the cashiers were just as nice ! read more

I went to get my granddaughter a paint palette. I met a lady and I said "Do you know where I can get a palette?" She said, "Yeah, right there because they were having a sale on it." It was two for something and five for something ya know. The lady told me how to use it. I bought the palette. Anyways she told me about crafts she makes with paints and all the pretty things she makes. She was going to school for her son and he was in a play and he was going to do a talent. A talent show. We talked for a long time. I hate the dollar store. They never have what I go there for except notebooks. But all the kids mess with all the little toys when you walk in and they mix them all up and I can never find the color I want. But this store has everything I need when I went there this day. And it was a really nice person and she told me her life story. read more

Michaels is great. I buy all of my crafts and such here at Michaels and the location is great too. I always love when I buy something and on the receipt there's a coupon for almost 50% off any item! Although.. there was this one time where I bought a scrapbook paper set.. that was $20.. and I got a coupon for 50% off.. for my next purchase.. wish I had that coupon to buy the scrapbook paper half off! Other than that, I had one other problem yesterday- the cross stich pattern sets. They have separate cross stich needles, strings, and mats... but they don't carry the set ones where everything comes in a package with a design. The lady referred us to go to Joann's for the package sets. We ended up going to Joann's. I did have a good look at Michaels like always. I lvoe just looking around even if I'm not buying anything at the time. read more

I ordered paint stuff online for pickup (due to corona) around 11am this morning and didn't get an email so I called the store and asked when it would be ready around 5pm and a kind lady answered the phone and told me my order was ready. I told her I'm on my way right now. We get to Michael's and wait in the lot. I call to confirm I'm in the parking lot and she says she's bringing it out to me, I then see her walk out and hand us the bag saying, "I'm glad you made it in time we were all just about to walk out the door!." It was 6:05pm and I didn't know that they had just closed and were going home. I'm very thankful I was able to pick up my order same day and the lady was so kind to bring it out to me! Just like any other Michael's you will visit. Staff here was nice and I made some returns which went smooth with no issues. I had questions about a particular look for a floral arrangement I was making and they were able to point me in the right direction. I love their selection on silk flowers and also all the supplies to make weddings really what you want! I haven't run into any issues or blown away by anything in particular. I like Michael's and prefer it from Hobby Lobby. read more

Filthy and unorganized. A lot of the shelves were empty and trash on the floor. The worst part was that the woman's restroom was deplorable....no seat covers, no tissue in one of the two stalls, tissue strewn all over the bathroom, the soap dispenser removed from the wall and empty laying on a table, two paper towel rolls laying next to the removed soap dispenser and none in the wall dispenser. During a pandemic! I will not support this business again. read more

They don't have much of what I really need, but it's nice that there's Michael's available if you need to get something that they already have. The only thing is that they are more expensive compared to Amazon. I wish they are cheaper and have more selections in Art like brushes, watercolor paper, watercolor etc. Their brands are very limited and like I said, more expensive. But other than that .... it's good to have Michael's in our area. read more

I love Michaels and many stores new options for "Curbside pick up" with Covid regulations, but I have to say Michaels version of this is not only a joke but also highly inaccurate. My email instructions said to go inside and find the kiosk that said online pick up. When I arrived I parked in a stall that said curbside pick up and called the number but there was no prompt for pick up orders. I went inside to find the kiosk that said to press the button for pick up orders. I pressed the button that apparently signaled for someone to come assist me but waited almost five minutes and nothing happened. There was a michaels associate standing near me staring but wouldn't say anything. I went up to her and asked where to get my online curbside order and she told me to wait in line. So I wait in line and I get to the register and the michaels associate radios to another person to get my order and tells me to step aside. Stepping aside mind you leaves no room for social distancing, the whole reason I wanted to do curbside pick up with a newborn baby in the first place. I wait and wait and someone finally comes from the back with my order. She hands it to me and I tell her something is missing. Instead of offering to go through the order with me, she stands there with an attitude acting like I'm wasting her time. Feeling awkward and in the way I tell her I'll figure it out later and she leaves, not even offering a hand out the door with more items than I can carry with the baby in my other hand. Their "curbside pick up" is a joke and a total waste of time. I definitely could have gone in store to find the items myself in less amount of time than this whole mess. Save yourself time and just go in the store or avoid Michaels all together until they figure this out. read more

I came for the Christmas decor once I heard it was on sale. I walked around the store for awhile and no one asked me if I needed help, but once I went to checkout, Lexi was VERY helpful. Helpful is an understatement, she was extremely nice and made my night. Made sure I found everything I needed and was willing to go out of her way to make sure everything was bagged neatly. I love shopping at Michael's!, but recently I've encountered Heather who has been less than accommodating compared to others in the store. A couple days ago I ran into her needing help locating an item while she was coming out of a back room near the beads. I understood that she had cash in her hand when she said she would get back to me, but She never got back to me. She obviously remembered that I needed the help bc she was surprised to see me in the same area she was in sometime later. She makes it seem like an inconvenience to deal with customers. Because of this one person, I will not return to Michael's. She will not scan/stack multiple coupons for you bc it seems to be an inconvenience for her as the store is very busy during the holidays, but the other ladies at the check registers have no problem doing so during this same time frame as well. I am tempted to return the items I bought today, and try Hobby Lobby instead. Will only return if Heather is not there anymore. read more

I went into our local store assuming I would get the same no answer I had at another big box store. I so pleasantly surprised to find Sarah in the frame department. She calmly listened as I listed my needs, requests and questions. And she said okay to all of it!!! They could make it happen and within the time frame I needed. She worked with me to find the perfect frame for each of the pictures I brought. This was no small task since I had over 15 pictures to figure out. She laid them out so I could see it all and made my whole experience easy. I am so grateful for her amazing customer service. I will definitely be back! read more
