What a cute store!! It's like waking into a dream! It is very uniquely laid out and changes by the season. It has a variety of products: candles, figurines, jewelry, clothing, furniture etc. it has a little of everything! It is more on the pricey side but it is good quality products! This used to be one of my favorite stores in Gig Harbor. They're mostly over-priced, but they're a specialty store with unique items, so it's to be expected. I've purchased many high ticket items through the years including furniture, art, décor, gifts, etc., and during a recent visit fell in love with a cardigan but did not love the price tag. It was priced quite high for a cardigan, so I asked the sales representative what it was about the cardigan that granted that high of a sales price and was told it was because of the brand, Barefoot Dreams and she went on to explain how well made their products are, etc., so after some deliberation, decided to treat myself and made the purchase. That weekend, I wore the sweater out for dinner for the first time and loved it, until the next day when I discovered there were 3 large snags! I returned to The Garden Room the next day and was told that was to be expected with the type of material and that I should just pull the snags back through the fabric. Now...I have no problem doing this with a $30 sweater, but NOT when I'm spending this kind of money! I explained this to them with my displeasure and was then advised that they needed to reach out to their supplier as to how to resolve. After about a half hour wait, the representative returned to inform me that they were unable to reach anyone and that they would get back to me, so they took my name/number and sent me on my way with cardigan in tow. I left the store feeling less than confident that I would get any resolution to my satisfaction and boy was I right. It's now been 2 weeks and I haven't heard a word from The Garden Room and I highly doubt I ever will. Sadly, I believe my shopping days at The Garden Room have come to an end. I love this boutique store. I discovered it a few years ago around Christmas time and since then have picked up various decor pieces for the holidays as well as everyday pieces. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a few completer pieces for a Vin yet that I have and was very satisfied with the help that I received. I'm super excited to put everything together and will definitely be back when I need something else in the future. The store is always full of product and can be overwhelming at first but it's so much fun to browse. I felt very safe while I was there it had no concerns having to do with the current pandemic. I think at this point in time we all know how to shop and socially distance so I'm unsure why the previous reviewer made the comment he did. read more

Although their Christmas selection is vast and enticing; the fact they do not openly tell their customers directly that there are no returns on any Christmas purchases. I just purchased a Christmas tree skirt item for $65 that I wanted to take home to see if it would complement the design of my Christmas tree. I said this to the clerk who showed me the selections. She made no attempt to tell me that all sales are final no returns. I tried to call and take it back the same day only then did I find out all sales are final and no returns. They told me they would not return my money, issue me an in-store credit, or in any way shape or form take the item back. my recommendation is to never buy any items from the store if you have any question in your mind whether it goes in your decor. read more

This store has become one of my go-to stores since moving to Gig Harbor! I'm thankful they moved to a bigger space next to Met Market, as their last store was too small of a space to walk through. Although their prices are a little higher, I do find that the pieces I buy there stand out from my other decor and their Christmas decor is to die for and worth every penny! The only problem is going in around Christmas time makes me want to change my decor every year! read more

I was in the store today, looking fora gift for my good friend. I usually like looking through the store as they have some unusual items. I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt so I figured that's why the woman there asked everyone but me if they needed help. She also visibly rolled her eyes when she walked by me. Unfortunately I found something I liked and bought it. The young lady behind the counter was very nice so it almost made up for the disrespectful older woman. This store is amazing and absolutely MAGICAL at Christmastime. I had only been in one other time and purchased some beautiful Halloween decorative blocks that say, "PUMPKINS". I thought they were a little expensive, but it's a boutique and I loved them. Since then, I've always been intrigued by the display window, but just haven't gone inside. Around Thanksgiving, we saw some snowflakes hanging in the window that I loved, so we put the kids in the car while we 'ran in' to get them. Inside, we were transported into a Christmas wonderland. We must've been in there for 45 minutes (and it's a small store!) just wondering through and looking at everything. Just about every square inch (bedsides the aisles) was beautifully decorated. It was literally amazing. My husband says they could easily charge admission just to walk through. He asked when they start decorating and they said at the end of August. I'm not surprised. It was beyond description. What's even better is the prices! I was amazed that everything was actually very affordable. We ended up going back on a few occasions and added to our already huge amount of Christmas decorations. I will definitely go in at least every season now to see what they have. This store is MAGICAL. Do yourself a huge favor and stop in. read more

Best to go on the weekday when it's not as crowded. The Christmas decor is amazing and a little overwhelming and a few spots in the store are hard to get through due to all of the decor. If you are claustrophobic do not go on the weekend. They have a nice range of prices. Somethings are very spendy and others are very reasonable. I just saw a post about Christmas items not being returnable. I would second that I did not see that posted anywhere which is disappointing. I also have to say that I was disappointed when they removed the batteries from a couple of light up items. They had the batteries in them to show how they worked and when purchased took them out. This is in comparison to a similar gift shop in Gig Harbor where my mom bought the exact same thing that this store sold and they made sure and put in a fresh pair of batteries. Just seemed a little cheap. The very pretty free wrapping they did helped make up for it. read more

The staff who was so very friendly boxed the tree and then carried the tree to my car parked at Home Goods. I was so blessed with their service. The store is crowded with lots of items so getting around can be a bit tricky at times. The staff have always been very friendly each time I have visited. My friend and I make it a point to visit the shop numerous times during a season as their stock is always changing. The Garden Room is a great concept. The merchandise is fun and eclectic, not to mention the holiday time is the most magical! It is located in the wonderful Uptown, prime location. If this store is a little too pricey (which it's a little over priced), head down to the AWESOME Home Goods and get double the amount of home decor for your buck!
