Fred Meyer has pretty much everything, and usually the best prices (especially on groceries). I've shopped at many of the grocery stores in this area, including the other nearby Fred Meyer locations, and this is the one that I prefer. This one just seems to be a bit cleaner and friendlier than the others, and usually not as busy. Keep an eye out for their Sunday newspaper circular; some pretty good deals in there! read more

The music is bad. They pay for one or two good songs then have flute music. One day it was bad piano music and I like piano music but it sounded like a kid was playing it. The bathrooms are ugly dirty all the time. With a grand opening just happening you think they would spend some money on the bathrooms so you don't find the toilet paper rolls on the floor or in where you are to put your child to sit. Also the sinks are gross the paper towel dispensers are old and half working. The new cloths dip is worse thing they could do. My wife need some new sweet pants and tried a large and a medium on and the medium was larger the the large. She thought I will try this dress it's cheap so we bought it and we washed it before wearing it and the dress shrunk. Not the whole thing just the outside the liner stayed long but the dress shrunk and I followed the instructions and hung dried it. That's why a 1 star. read more

Do NOT shop here!!! The employees, including the manager are extremely rude. I simply asked two employees to help me with a locked item as they chit-chatted amongst themselves and they give me an attitude and tell me to go ask another lady. I approach that lady asking for help and she screams at me that she is busy and wants to know why I'm bothering her and why the other two ladies were unable to help me, like I can answer that question for her. The manager is then called to help me and I explain to him the outstanding customer service I had received up to this point and he could care less and does nothing about it. Kroger you are the worst retailer out there! I used to love my neighborhood fred Meyer however since you have changed it to make it a cookie cutter of all your National Kroger chains, the produce department is disgusting~! ALWAYS out of what little you now carry and what you do have is wilty and mushy! I realize that with this Covid19 nightmare that everyone has to make changes however if you are like me and still have to work 40 plus hours a week Kroger makes shopping a NIGHTMARE! your shelves are ALWAYS empty....... I don't understand this considering I wind up having to go elsewhere and those places seem to fill their shelves ie Safeway and Albertsons. Then you try to go to the garden center and now you close it at 7pm really?????? I understand closing outside entrances but why can you not shop the garden center and pay for your purchases inside the store????????????? I now can honestly say I detest FRED MEYER so thanks KROGER. Maybe the suits higher up that think they know what they are doing and they don't by the way should try walking in the average person's shoes and then try to shop one of their stores........ No carts, no sanitizer at the entrance, aisles that dead end preventing social distancing, only 2 or 3 cashiers (forcing you to do self check out), carts are not sanitized, no limitation of customers entering store, can't use your own bags so they charge you for their paper bags, prices have continue to rise.....Kroger is out to make more than a buck and the hell with customers. read more

I love coming here vs Safeway in the town center. There are always plenty of registers open and the store is very organized. Their produce department is pretty impressive and carry a wide variety of vegetables I normally have to go to h mart for. The only thing that bothers me is the way the isles are set up. The bakery is on one end but the bread isle is located in the middle of store. Kind of weird for me. And the eggs & cheese are not but the dairy products lol. Oh well I'll just have to adjust. Went to FM 6305 Bridgeport Way W. today for their sale on Coke/Pepsi Products and a couple of other things. What a great experience ! First, there was not limit on the sale items and since we do not go to FM often, we did have some questions and were helped by several employees to find a specific product, checking in the back for more availability of a certain product (mainly the Fresca) , being advised that more of the Fresca was expected tonight, the sale was on for 6 days, being "funneled" through the checkout line so as to get through faster and being offered help to load the purchase (23 cs. of Soda) in our car. All in all, I believe it was 5 different employees helping us along the way -- all with a smile on their face. We are thoroughly impressed and grateful. Thank you all so much ! Since we declined the help to load the car, we've had another customer pass by and offered his help. Thank you, young man ! Amazing -- still some great people out there. I had gone into this Fred Meyers to pick up Caramel Apples I ordered from the bakery for our night with the Grandchildren trick-or-treating (myhusband was outside waiting and had no idea what was going on). Upon entering the store I began to have a low blood sugar episode (I'm diabetic) and could barely talk to the young man in the bakery. He asked if I needed water and I answered yes. He RAN, not walked to STARBUCKS and returned with a tall glass of ice and water and even a straw and told me to eat as much of the samples as I needed to help myself get better, GOSH I wish I got his name. Anyhow once I was a bit composed I went and checked out and asked the lady at the self check-out to help me, and she kindly did. As I began to leave I felt the need to sit down, which I found a chair at the STARBUCKS inside this Fred Meyers. The young lady, Sasie, was AMAZINGLY helpful! She could tell I was sweating and not feeling well and when I mumbled to her that I was a diabetic she ran into action asking me what I wanted and promptly got me a Grande Pumpkin Latte not very hot so that I could drink it fast and get my sugar levels up again. She was even cute enough to offer me trick-or-treat candy that they had. As I began to come out of my low blood sugar episode I went to Sasie to pay for my Latte and give her a tip. She refused both. I was so shaken by this whole experience that I began to cry. Sasie's compassion was undeniably one of the kindest customer service experience I've EVER encountered, as well as the young man at the Fred Meyers Bakery. I commend both these young people for being calm during an emergency situation and helping me in a crisis moment. They have no idea how grateful I am for their help and kindness through this whole experience, as I'd never had a low sugar level drop experience like that out in public before. read more

Not impressed with the bakery. They had a very poor selection of cakes. When I asked if they had any cakes other than purple or blue frosting they said no. I asked again they looked and found a yellow. I went with thay. She did offer to take the frosting bunny off I did thank her for that. I asked if she could put Happy Birthday Mom if not enough room she could put Happy 65th. She did Birthday which looked horrible along with 2 flower and a Happy face ring . I tend to disagree with the other review.. there selection of natural, organic, sugar free and gluten-free food is by far the best in the area. I do love me some Trader Joe's for the variety of gluten-free products, but Fred Meyer is fantastic. It is nice they have a whole section of about 4 rows of natural food selection, unlike Safeway where its like going on a scavenger hunt trying to find any GF Product. It's simply amazing how much one store can differ from another in the same company! As much as I hate the rude, unfriendly, usually non-helpful employees at the Pacific Ave store, I've loved this one since they opened! I attribute their great customer service to great management! I've worked in retail, and I know that the manager's attitude rubs off on the employees. A rude or mean or unfriendly manager is going to end up with employees just like them! If they don't care about customer service, they won't stress it to their workers. Well, THIS Fred Meyer is a model store for what customer service excellence is all about! I haven't came within 10 feet of ANY worker in this store who didn't greet me or say hello or ask me if they could help me find something, and they always do it with a smile! I've shopped here since they first opened (in fact I lived up the street for 2 years) and have never yet dealt with an employee who was not friendly and cheerful. Again, I know from experience that when the managers treat their workers with respect and give them their deserved pats on the back, they get workers who LOVE their jobs and love coming to work! I saw this when I worked at Wal-Mart. Our general manager was such an awesome guy and he was always giving employees recognition for jobs well done. He even hired at great wages based on experience! And it was the most fun job I ever had, all because the employees were always friendly and cheerful and we all laughed and had fun and loved our jobs, which reflected back to how we treated our customers. Well, walk into that same store now and you'll find a ton of rude employees who give dirty looks and are NOT friendly or helpful. Why? Because the new manager came in and cut wages, cut hours, then started hiring at minimum wage for all positions but overnight stockers. This is Fred Meyer, so you expect the usual Fred Meyer prices on the usual items. But then it's Fred Meyer! And you DON'T often expect to be treated with such respect and friendliness like you do here! This is my favorite place to buy groceries nearby. Walmart down the street can kick rocks. There is always a great selection of organic groceries. . At decent prices. Plus I love that there is everythinggg here, from groceries, to home decorations, arts&crafts, furniture, lawn & garden, clothes, baby items, jewelery store and a Starbucks! They even have childcare for petes sake! Also one thing that makes me very happy are the fuel reward points! Items are good so far until one day I forgot my cashback and staff won't be able to help me. According to Kyle, the manager that day that next person grab the money, and that they won't be able to give me back my money since it was already dispensed from the cash register. Used to love going to Fred Meyer to grocery shop and get name brand clothing. They are removing the brand name clothing and replacing with one name to select from called dip. What dipshi... came up with that change? I was sad when we had to move to California as there is no fred Meyer in the Bay but we come back to Seattle as we own a home here and now I'm just disgusted with the extreme changes. Grocery stores don't stock at night like they did years. They stock in mornings when customers are in store. Starbucks stop making sure coffee is right or next one free and no more friendly staff. Raise prices and give crappier services. All about the $$$ Buck and to hell w customer. Customer service is gone. Seems like extreme is how most changes are with everything. After searching fruitlessly all over Tacoma for a cheap microwave to get me through the summer, I finally tasted victory at Freddie's. I had been to Target, KMart, the Sears Outlet, 2 Goodwills, and even WalMart before landing at this slightly off the beaten path FM. Lo and behold! There was one perfect ilttle gem of an appliance left- the floor model- on sale for $30. The gal working the area checked in back and then offered to sell me said item for an additional discount! I gleefully hauled it to the checkstand and skipped off into the sunset with my bargain item. We have been happily heating together ever since. read more

This is not one of them! The store has a slightly upper-end feel to it, but without the upper-end prices and much greater selection. I like the location of this store. They recently did an upgrade and added self-check out lanes. It's bigger and cleaner than some of the other stores I've been to. The ONLY thing I dislike about it, and I must warn you is there is NO reception in this store. I went shopping here for the black friday sale and dispite all the confusion of the holiday shoppers, the sales staff were still very friendly and helpful in getting what I needed. One of the secvice associates at the front counter even helped me save $50 dollars on a mail in rebate. They have EVERYTHING I want, including a really good natural foods section, but the customer service has been consistently really spotty! At every Freddy's I've shopped at for the last 18 years (Renton, Kent, Tacoma, University Place), it has been VERY CLEAR to me that the corporate culture of Fred Meyers (and their larger owner corporation) is to take advantage of their workers. That's the ONLY way you end up with so many tired, overwhelmed, under trained, and of course underpaid, unhappy employees over several obviously understaffed chain stores in 2 different counties over the course of almost 2 decades! Fred Meyer's would be my one-stop shopping place, but I don't like to support the corporate greed that results in this kind of culture. So I go to several other stores where the workers are treated better, and the stores are better staffed, because it makes for a much better shopping experience for me, AND I think a MUCH BETTER community & society in general. read more

I ordered 2 Thanksgiving meals plus a cake for pickup on 11/26/16. Prior to pickup, I was called twice. The first time was a voicemail around early morning stating that there was an issue with the stuffing delivery so they would like to compensate with either more potatoes or $5 off. When I called back I spoke to a lady instead of the original caller. I don't know why but out conversation was difficult. She could not understand my name, why I was calling, what my orders were, etc. After an excruciating time on the phone it seemed like the order was squared away. I do have to say I was a bit nervous after we got off the phone. The following morning I received a voicemail at 0730! In my opinion this is way too early to call a customer. The voicemail didn't have any details of why they called. When I called back I spoke to a different lady than one who left the voicemail and the one I spoke to the day earlier. She had no patience, kept interrupting me, had no idea why I was calling (& neither did I since there was no details on the voicemail). Needless to say she never resolved whatever issue there was with my order. To my surprise the manager called me a few hours later. She told me that they didn't have the decorations for the cake I had ordered. She was going inquire at a different Fred Meyer bakery even though I didn't want to trouble them. I would've been happy if the baker could draw crowns and septor with the frosting. To my dismay the baker didn't do that. My cake was plainly decorated. No crowns, no septors, just the words I wanted on the cake. And I ordered a marble cake but they didn't mix the cake properly because I received a plain cake with half vanilla and the other half chocolate. No swirls. No mixing. AND to top it off I didn't receive any discount on the cake! That cake was way too expensive for the lack of detail. My daughter loves snacks and I always end up paying for them later but this store has them for free so they can enjoy. That's amazing.. prices are wonderful. Let me add that the Ecoupons rarely work. Be sure to check your receipt before you leave. And, if they don't work, you'll have to endure the super broke down union employee at the customer service counter who will make you tabulate your own savings. This has happened to me several times. The most recent time I had to tell her what I purchased, hand her my phone so she could see the coupons on my phone, then watch her tabulate it on a calculator. She was off by several dollars, which I didn't realize until I left the store. I went back. Needless to say, when I showed up in her line again within 5 minutes, she was not happy. She gave me a few more bucks but was off overall, so i got screwed. It happened again on a subsequent visit. I still have the receipt and tried to email corporate but got nowhere because it is a big circle that leads to nowhere. If you do finally find the door to email customer service specifically about Ecoupons, you'll see that the site is under maintenance until Wed. Well, it's been like 3 or more Wed's and still the same message. Check your receipt before you leave. Sorry for your luck if you have to visit the lady at the customer service desk. read more

New to the area, I've shopped at Albertson's, Safeway, QFC, and Trader Joe's but Fred Meyer beats them all. The prices are about the same as Walmart down the street and the quality of everything is excellent (especially produce). Every single time my boyfriend & I come to this fred meyer we are treated like God damn criminals! I never write reviews on places, even if my visit was the most extroradinary time I've ever had somewhere or even if my service was the absolute worst. So here I am spending valuable time of my life that I won't ever get back to write this damn review in hopes that some big wig at Fred Meyers will see it Because I have had enough of this crap! And this is all because of one associate who works in the area that we always go to when we visit this Fred Meyers. My boyfriend & I are Hot Wheels collectors & any time we visit a store that we know has Hot Wheels we always go & check them out for new ones or old ones that we don't have! So this associate who works in the toy section at night, whose name I do not have, is always right in our personal space bugging us & not letting us be to ourselves while we go through them. I know a lot of people have seen what Hot Wheels displays look like. They have individual cars in packaging probably 8 to 10 on a single rack. They have about 6 or 7 single racks in a row, with probably 10 rows top to bottom. It's actually quite difficult to look through them & it can be quite messy, but that is all part of the fun. Until you are treated as if you are there to completely rob them of their HW display. We always end up going there during thier last business hour, because it's when we have time to. This associate will come up to us as we are looking through all the cars & asking us over & over & over again if we need help. We tell her politely that we are ok. Then she will stand over us picking up the hot wheels that we have either set down on the bottom of the rack or they have fell. She speaks rudely to us. She rushes us. She makes us feel quite uncomfortable the whole time we are there. We do not act suspicious in any way or give her any reason to believe that we are the type of people to shoplift. And every time we are there we are spending at minimum $30 & 2/3 of that is just on Hot Wheels. We understand that watching out for shoplifters is part of her job description, but this hasn't happened just once or twice, it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME we are there. She makes us feel as though we do not belong there! Tonight was the final straw! My boyfriend & I split up when we got there because I had to return an item. He told me after we left that first he went to the HW & this lady was eyeballing him the minute he walked up to them. She then proceeds to say "Find anything new?" He answered & told her he has found a couple things. She then asked if he collects them & he said yes. Then she said something extremely rude! She says to my boyfriend "I guess we all collect stupid things." Excuse me? What Type of customer service is that? STUPID THINGS? Just because it's stupid to you doesn't mean its stupid to somebody else. This is what we do & what we treasure as a couple. It's something that started as a cute gift for my boyfriend when he was in the hospital for 2 months because he loves cars & I wanted to help remind him of home while he was stuck there & it blossomed into something big that we do together! Then once I eventually made my way over to the Hot Wheels she was right on me as if I had already done something wrong. I put down the couple things I have in my hand & set my purse next to me on the floor & crouch down to start on the bottom row. She walks up right behind me, peering over my shoulder. She asks if I need help I say no. She walks away. But not to far...she's gotta make sure I'm in birds eye view.I stand up & start looking at the middle rows. She comes right over & goes over on the left hand side & is bending over & around a display that is set up right there to pick up the cars that have either fallen off the rack on to the platform or that I have set down. She keeps staring at me, I look at her & straight up say "why do you keep watching me? Do you think I'm gonna steal these hot wheels? I don't steal! I buy everything I want & have never given you a reason to think like you do!" She then continues on & says "this is my section. I am watching it & picking it up!" I told her she was making me nervous & that I was gonna go to my boyfriend! I yell for him cuz he is close by & she's telling me to leave her section & I did yell back at her to stop treating me like a theif! I have had enough with this lady & her talking crap to the other associates & having them all over us! We have never once not paid for an item! This is stereotyping. Just cuz I am hyper & a bit odd & my boyfriend looks like a thug doesn't mean we are bad people or make us bad people, so stop treating us as such! I will be in contact with the manager tomorrow to get this issue resolved & if the manager doesn't want to take care of this issue then I will go higher & higher up until I get the respect I deserve & treated like a normal 25 year old female!
