It's small but has almost everything I need. It's across the street so it's very convenient for me. They also let me use my rolling cart to carry groceries which is amazing because I'm disabled and can't drive and rely on it for heavier items. Returns are also very easy. Kroger brand is a lifesaver when I'm struggling financially too! My only complaint is they don't sell prescription cat food so i have to travel further or other online from somewhere else to get that. But they don't have an attached vet clinic so that's understandable. Just a mild inconvenience. read more

After seeing urgent care at 830am was told my script would be ready in about 2 hours. I went home and waited until 11am. Went to Fred Meyer, picked up some supplies and proceeded to the pharmacy to pick up my antibiotics for strep throat. I feel awful and am now entering my 2nd hour waiting. Been in line 4 times to check if it's ready only to hear the pharmacist say it will be a lot longer. I am unwell and had the expectation that my antibiotics would be filled when they said they would. I should not have to sit here for what is now going on over an hour and share my strep throat with everyone else. Save yourself the headache and frustration and go to elsewhere as I will do after getting this medication. read more

The manager leane was also no help at all as she moved on the situation from me buying beers for others to my id was fake. She claimed the bubbles under my face was what made it invalid. Oregon state issued id's have security verification bubbles are PROOF it's real. Same way a $100 bill has its own measures to prove authenticity. I was arrested in the end of "trespassing." Super bummed. Did my grocery shopping on Sunday and purchased a pork shoulder to make pulled pork. I opened it Tuesday morning and it was rancid. The smell was so bad I literally ran it outside to the trash can. $15 down the drain. I don't live close by and have zero desire to go fish it out, drive with the stinky meat in the car to return it. Nice Fred Meyers. It is a smaller version than most Freddie's. The produce selection is nice just small. The meat department has little to no seafood. The deli is just deli stuff no meat counter with fresh cut meats. The garden department is good. Lot of flower & plants. They have a bottle drop outside. read more

Thank you Fred Myer I am now eating much more healthy than ever. I have lowered my meat and egg intake greatly. I'm not eating unhealthy snacks or any junk food. I've greatly reduced by need for butter, and dairy products. It's a shame you don't seem to realize that you will lose a lot of people who have learned some financial discipline during the pandemic like myself. I was in the Jewelry department and everyone there was super nice. I had come to decide on my now fiance's engagement band. I took her in with me at first to get an idea of what my top five or so looked like on her finger, and then I told her I didn't especially like the one I was going to pick. She had no idea then of what I had given her until the moment came. The ladies were super helpful when I came back on my own to purchase the ring. I didn't expect that I would spend as much as I did, but I am the happiest man alive today because it put the biggest smile on my woman that I've ever seen. read more

Fred's is an ok place for some quick and dirty shopping. If you've ever been in the clothing section, you will know what I meen by dirty. This is not a Macys. The grocery section is ok, but they really have priced the organic produce outlandishly. This place works for a one-stop shop when you are too lazy or hung over to go to a real grocery (like Safeway) and a real department store like Macy's, Pennys or Kohls. Went here at about 7pm on July 4th, expecting for it to be closed. It was not. Kudos to FM for being open when we needed tortillas for burritos (what's unAmerican about that?). Sorry to the employees that were working at 7pm on the 4th of July. We got: tortillas (flour and wheat), Tillamook Vanilla Bean ice cream and fresh blueberries (2 pounds for $4.99). They were giving away free shit at this location(!(?)). I hadn't seen this before, but they announced over the loud speaker that they were have a marketing give-away between the florist and furniture sections, "where the laser light is shining on the ceiling." Ms. K. and I were intrigued/tempted/suckered and so over we went. Well apparently they were giving away shammy-mop-somethings, but we were scared away by the little platform that predicted some infomercial-esque occurrence. We bailed. Quickly. It's a Fred Meyer. If I had the option for just reviewing the bakery here, it would be one star, but because I like most of the rest of the store I have it three. I had had their cake once and really enjoyed it (this was before I found out I had to be gluten free) so my mom tried to get my cake here a couple years ago. Well, they completely lost the order and when she called again about it, they still didn't do it right. Fast forward to a little while ago and mom thought she would give them another chance and order my brother's cake. They would not help her whatsoever about customizing the cake, writing his name, etc on it. They were very rude and so we went to Safeway instead where they didn't even bat an eye and said no problem. No lost order and it was ready on time there. We definitely will not go to Fred Meyer again for any bakery needs because they apparently can't hire competent people who are interested in helping people in any way. I am really impressed at how much organic and local items this Fred Meyer carries. The organic items are also reasonably priced which is awesome. I use this FM a lot because it's close to my house, and honestly I like it better than some of the others. The staff is always really friendly and helpful, and they are great about opening new check out lines when the others start getting long. Nothing irritates me more than long check out lines that take forever to get through. Thanks FM! read more

Although I like this store for the convenience as it is only a few blocks from my house, I think it really stinks they wont return cans and bottles anymore. They will continue to "charge" the deposits but wont return them anymore. They said I can go to a location on Lancaster which is about 8 miles from my home. Today, 9/13/2014 i purchased a new X-Box game called Destiny. It's a $60.00 game. I heard it was a great game so I thought I would get it for me and my nephew to play. I purchased the game around 9:30 AM. I ran another errand then went home. When I loaded the game into my X-Box a message came up saying that you had to have X-Box live or you couldn't play the game. I have about 20 other games and had never heard of such a thing. I looked at the fine print on the game box and sure enough, it said X-Box live only. So I put the game back in the box and went to return the game at 11:00 AM. The girl that sold me the game was standing next to the assistant electronics manager. I explained what had happened but the assistant electronics manager sited their policy was that they could not provide a refund or store credit for open games. Thinking I may be able to persuade the store manager, I asked to speak with him / her. As soon as I did, the girl that sold me the game literally laughed and rolled her eyes, like I was some crazy jerk. This made me extremely upset that they did not appear to be sensitive to the situation I was in at all. Sure, it was my mistake, but they seemed indifferent, that is not good customer service. A few minutes later the store manager came up and I explained what had happened with the game not working because I didn't have X-Box live. I did not mention the girl rolling her eyes, because I wanted to keep things positive. The store managers body language, tone of voice, and word choice was telling me that she thought she was way too important and too busy to help me. She sited that there were copy wright laws that prevented them from taking opened games back. Keep in mind, I just bought the game less than 2 hours ago. After she said she couldn't help me, she tried to hand me back the game I wanted to return. I told her she could keep it. It's not going to do me any good if I can't play it. I told her I did not plan on shopping at the store again. I totally get that I made a mistake by not reading the fine print on the game before I purchased it, but I have 20 other games that I can play without X-Box live. I didn't have any idea X-box was doing that. I get that the store policy may or may not prevent them from taking the game back. What I don't get is how I was treated. I left a message with the district manager and I'm waiting for a call back. Although this is the FM closest to my house, I rarely go here because the selection is the worst of all the FM's in the area. The one in South Salem is the newest and is the only one that has Boar's Head meats in the deli. They also have a better selection of housewares and furniture. However, the real reason this place get's my 2 stars isn't the selection, it's the service. I stopped in here on my way home from work the other day to pick up some stuff from the deli. They advertise as closing the deli at 9p but when I got there at 830p and asked for some sliced turkey, the lights were off an everything was covered in the cases and the guys were already wrapped up to go home. He said they were closed for the night, the manager wanted them to be out of there by 830p. Well, then they shouldn't be advertising that they are open til 9p. Obviously the manager wants to cut corners with the payroll at the expense of the customers. This location is too far from the others to get to another deli by 9pm, so I went home empty handed and they've lost my business. For better service, try the Fred Meyer on Market Street, the gals that work in the deli there are super helpful and they have 40% off rotiserie chickens and half off stuff in the hot case between 8-9p. You can get a whole chicken for $3.49! This is my new stop on the way home from work. read more

Pharmacy needs leadership! The store overall is decent and employees are nice. The pharmacy on the other hand is a huge disappointment . I use this location because I work in Salem otherwise I would use my favorite location that's in Newberg. Today I needed to fill a simple prescription , I approached the drop off counter, no other customers waiting and there was at least 6 employees chatting. One looked at me and said it will be a minute and continued chatting. A few min later a gal approached me and took my information , she the said it will be ready at 2pm.... I asked why does it take 1.5 hrs to fill a prescription ? She said it was busy... Really? Not one of them were filling prescriptions .. All were chit chatting. Then she just walked away as if I annoyed her. She could have said let me see if I can move it up some, or something to make me feel like a customer rather than a pain in her butt. So if your the manger of that pharmacy I would recommend doing a secret shop on your team, I will fill my prescriptions in Newberg or at Walgreens. read more

i payed for a custom family tree necklace for my wife to give to her for her birthday was told it would be 6 to 8 weeks after 9 weeks pass i start calling was told three times i would get a call back never did i go into the keizer or. fred myers and the manager finally looks into it and the company making the necklace sent it to the wrong fred myers and they just sent it back so the company that made the peice stated they would upgrade the gold for the mistake and was told by the manager of keizer fred myer jewler that they rushed the order i was refunded and was told they where going take care of the charge and would call me when it arrived it would be 2 to 3 weeks ... 4 weeks later i go in was given alot of excuses and was told the necklace was going to take 6 to 8 weeks finally the necklace arrives so i go in to be told i need to pay $170 by the assistant manage i let her know the manage had told me they where taking care of the cost me being a long time customer and all the problems assistant tells me she can give me 10% off but the manager wasnt there so i tell her to talk to the manager and get back to me 2 days later i call and still no answer from manager the next day i get a voice mail stating the best they can do for me is the 10% i told her to keep the necklace and i will never buy anything from this company again customer service is non existent at this store i wouldnt spend your money here i know i wont be read more
