Got what I need. Fair prices. Real people at the registers and no stupidly long lines.

Our latest experience was a return/exchange from a special order for water shoes, and Bella did a wonderful job making the process quick and easy. I was told to go to REI supposedly because they stand behind their products. Oh was I wrong. I even bought their membership because I was told I could return my tent for any reason and even no reason whatsoever and get my $ back. The grommets ripped out of my tent and all of the stakes bent so easily when the wind picked up. All of my coworkers who bought their tents at walmart returned their tents and got brand new ones.I paid three times as much for my tent and was told all these promises. And when I went to return it, they said, no, you're effed. Screw off we won't take it back. I highly do not recommend.Do not listen to anyone there. And buy your stuff somewhere else.Horrible company. That's why they're closing all their stores. Do not shop at r e.I.They are horrible. If I could rate lesson one star I would. How I was treated was worse than a gulag in Russia. Thanks for taking my money and being huge liars.

1 Star for Walmart, but 5 Stars for an Incredible Manager! I…read moream generally not a fan of Walmart, and the store itself earns a 1-star rating at best. However, I am leaving this review specifically to recognize the incredible manager who went above and beyond to help me. On Thursday, June 4th, around mid-morning, I went to this location to return a chair I ordered online from Walmart that ended up being too small for my daughter. At the customer service counter, the guy told me that they couldn't accept the return unless the chair was completely disassembled and boxed up. I laughed and told the guy.."your kidding, right?" The problem was, I had already tried to take it apart at home, but a dumb locking mechanism made it impossible for me to separate the pieces. The guy at the counter didn't laugh nor did he care about my problem. He told me to go speak with the manager, who happened to be nearby filling out paperwork at a register. I went over to talk to him and explained the situation, he didn't hesitate to help. He actually went to the back, grabbed a screwdriver, and personally went to work on the chair. Even for him, it wasn't easy. He had a tough time getting the mechanism to release, but he eventually got it apart. To top it off, he even helped me box the whole thing up. I thanked him over and over again. I didn't catch his name, but he is a truly great guy who deserves recognition. Give this man a raise, or better yet, someone offer him a better job. He has a level of dedication and work ethic that goes way beyond what you normally expect to find here! Thank you again Mr. Manager.

However, the Kohl's in the center had customers and employees with a clean and neat shopping experience. Now that JCPenney (and long before that, Liberty House) is gone, the "Marion Parkade" near Kohl's and cinnebarre became more popular due to its skybridge right into Kohl's. It was still easy to park and all kinds of cars are parked here. I felt very safe leaving my vehicle. If one parks in the other free downtown garage, you will be in for a short outdoor walk to enter the center. Today the food court was busy and a new Italian restaurant is coming soon to the first level where Honey baked Ham was. There are two large arcades on the second level. If you want to visit some local shops or Ross, those are here too. Many mall employees were on duty during my visit for security and housekeeping. Definitely still a mall for teens & early 20somethings. An older customer might find more interesting stuff walking south into downtown Salem's streets.
