This place reminded me of the small grocery store my family frequented when i was a child many years ago. Chester's is a great, slightly small, full service market with prices that are not sky high. The produce section was actually very well stocked, as were the meat and seafood areas. In short, my grand daughter and i found everything we needed and didn't have to leave town to do so. The store was clean, and well stocked and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. It was very easy to find, and the large parking lot made it easy to get in and out of.

This is my first convenient market review and never thought I would, but it was listed and I thought why not, someone needs to be recognized. It's a typical market with tobacco, sweets, beverages, snacks & fried food. We really only go there when we are passing through Lyons or need something like milk, butter or anything else we feel might be an emergency. It's on the corner, as the name states and easy to get in and out of. What makes this place special and worth mentioning is the wonderful lady that works the register. She could likely be the owner, but I've never taken the time to have an in depth conversation with her. From the time you walk in to when you exit, she is gabbing & babbling away about anything & everything and somehow making the whole experience very enjoyable. We find ourselves talking about her for many minutes/mile after leaving. Her personality is positively contagious. For me, these types of people/workers/characters can make or break an experience for the consumer, whether it's dining out, shopping or I guess even at a convenient store. I hope she works there as long as I go to that store. It's simply a pleasure! Thank you lady and I promise I'll make time to get to know you a little better with each future visit. Their pricing is intentional for them to make more profit. There are always pricing errors on purpose. I spent over $800 per month for over a year. I had to go back in the store every week after I reviewed my bill - to get refunds to correct wrong pricing. It's not the clerks fault, when they say. "It will all adjust at the end of your bill." That does not always happen at all. It's planned corporate greed. I quit. Costco does not make billing errors. I switched & I'm much happier. I only shop here for very few necessary items now. It was closed for a year or so and when the new owners reopened it lost all of ii's charm and friendly feeling. They even closed the rest rooms and now have port-a-potties outside. If you look at the reviews, the higher ratings are all from before the fire in 2020.
