I promised my husband I would clean out the pantry. Donate what I think we will never use and throw out things we've had for years and are out of date. What I did not expect is that three items I bought on Dec 14-23, 2024, my last two shops were past their use by date, by as much as 7 months!!! My review concerns a single incident. I'm currently on crutches and have to use an electric cart. This store's carts are outdated - they don't show the battery strengh on the console, My cart stalled while 1/2 way done shopping. I waited 45 minutes for a 2nd cart. The second cart stalled with 4 items left to purchase. A manager told me to wait while he looked for a 3rd cart. He never returned, Instead, he stood 40 feet away chatting with two of his colleagues. After another 57 minutes, another 4th manager, "Kenny" walked up and asked me if aI needed help. He was horrified by my story as I pointed out the other managers still "...standing over there..." Long story short: Kenny got his mother (apparently a senior administrator in the store) to check me through a register while he went to get the 4 items I still needed. After checking out, he loaded my purchases into my car while I walked along side on crutches. The point of all this is, there are all kinds of people in the world. Some care, some don't. My quick trip to the store was 3 hours long. An hour'n'1/2 was just sitting in stalled carts. Thanks to Kenny and his mother, this all had a happy ending. read more

This is the most ghetto store in all of King County with the exception being the QFC on Broadway. They are much more concerned with loss prevention that they are with actual customer service. They'll have two security at each entrance checking your receipt but has skeleton crew actually helping customers. Half of the time the cashiers are actually management and when they don't have enough, they make other departments come out to help. They refuse to staff properly so that they can save money. They do not care about their employees. The only reason I still shop there is because it is close to where I live. If you don't have to shop here, avoid this dump. read more

Never thought I would rave about a store like Fred Meyers to this extent but this place is pretty great. Not only is it huge - you can do everything from shopping for hardware to shopping for groceries. Even though we had purchased groceries a few days prior at our normal Albertsons, we ended up getting a whole bunch of extra things like canned goods and snacks here because they were so cheap! We also were able to snag a whole bunch of things like patio goods, chair pads, and gardening accessories for a real steal. If you venture off to the back right of the store near the tools and hardware, you'll also find a bunch of tables and shelves with clearance items that are worth checking out! I was able to snag a few dollar ceramic plates from the brand Mason that were oh so cute and normally priced at upwards of $10 for $1-$3. While this place seems like a go to for things like groceries and other knick knacks, I wasn't too thrilled about their cosmetics section. I was looking for something rather specific (face oil) any kind really, and was not able to find ANY. To add to the lack of cosmetic variety, we had run out of conditioner and found the prices to be a lot more than what we were used to paying over at our beloved Target. read more

Recently went to the Kent Fred Meyer on 240th, unfortunately had a bad experience. For whatever reason, they have these stand-alone shelves to display product (typical of what you would see on an aisle end, or in a sale area) and they've decided to set them up in the middle of every aisle. No, not on the ends of the aisles, there are stands IN the aisles literally blocking the shelves of product behind them! I didn't take a photo because my hands were full with my cart, and I just wanted to get out of there, but I attached some google images to show you the type of stands I'm talking about. It was a disaster! Every aisle has 2-5 of these stands on it, making the aisle walkways so narrow that only one person and cart may pass at a time. It was crowded, everyone was in everyone's way, and I could hardly get to anything I need! Why so many little stands everywhere?!?! It was ridiculous, couldn't even stand still with my cart to look for groceries on an aisle without being asked to move multiple times so someone could pass. If the stands weren't everywhere in the aisles, then the aisles would be wide enough for foot traffic going both ways. But no, it's so cramped and crowded and everyone's carts were bumping. Probably won't be coming back to this location as it literally felt like Costco trying to fit my cart through everything! So stressful, and for no reason. At least Costco has good prices lol. Please move the stands it is so impractical I can't even believe that they got set up like this in the first place read more

There is always a gigantic line for the customer service desk, pretty much, no matter what time of day. Most of the employees here are rude and at best, act rather irritated and short with you. While waiting in the never-ending customer service line, I heard them talk about a customer as soon as she started walking away and saying very negative things about her, obviously within earshot of all the other customers, which I found pretty unprofessional. read more

I shop at the Fred Meyer's at 108th. and have always enjoyed the customer service there. In order to stretch retirement dollars I shop at Walmart (Renton), but sometimes it's a hassle to drive that far for just a few things. I've used the pick up site several times now and it makes shopping so much easier. I still prefer to hand pick my own fruits and vegetables, but canned & packaged goods are ordered, paid for (on-line), then picked up at the service area provided. Keep up the great innovative ideas Fred Meyer's and I'll continue shopping here. read more

Like any Fred Meyer it does have a great variety of merchandise. But my comments are mostly about the pharmacy. I've had to switch to this one because I moved and this is closer than my previous FM. But both prescriptions here o found it a bit chaotic. Fairly long wait time and what's worse the most recent one they had both the dosage instructions and the spelling of my name WRONG on the label. I had to call mg dentist to verify the dosage. I'm not sure whose error that was but I suspect pharmacy since the dental office read off what they'd sent to FM. Also FM had my insurance card so why can't they copy my name spelling from that rather than making something up? The actual pharmacist is the one who alerted me that he thought the dosage looked unusual so it wasn't his fault but more like clerical error. I guess it's hard to fill some jobs with qualified people these days Also the pharmacy is a long long walk from the main entrance. Long long long long checkout lines. You'll inevitably be waiting inches apart from the lowest scum Kent, WA has to offer. All this makes for a very stressful and uncomfortable shopping experience. This place is criminally understaffed, and this includes the pharmacy. Speaking of the pharmacy, a lot of the folks here obviously hate dealing with people. Who can blame them? I sure wish they'd get their time "guesstimates" in effing order. I'm so tired of coming here. I've actually been going out of my way to go to the Safeway that's a bit further away. incredibly rude and poor delivery. I spoke to three different supervisors just now to have the apply the $19.00 credit that they owe me from the previously messed up order, and ALL of them told me they cannot do that. apparently, the customer is supposed to know (without any instructions to do so) to REQUEST that the money owed to them is applied to the order! ridiculous. the last supervisor I spoke to, when asked to be transferred to his boss, told me that there is No One above him who accepts phone calls. I literally burst into maniacal laughter. of course there isn't. they would constantly be flooded. all this started from my prior order that was delivered and left at the wrong address, and I even sent photos of my my front door, versus the photo of the one the delivery driver sent me, and it is Clear that it was left at the wrong door. it took me speaking to ten different people until I finally was able to have a partial credit issued to my credit card. ridiculous! do not shop here unless you want to be treated with disrespect and shady business practices. they are essentially forcing customers to "buy more" in order to get their own money repaid. isn't this called bait and switch? read more

I can't stand coming here only cuz of the rude employees & the Loss Prevention staff that follows people off the property if they even think someone is gonna take something without evidence while they r screaming cuss words in front of children while customers r walking into the store. Went to the bakery to have a Happy Birthday put on my sons cake only to hear the lady tell me she can't do it cuz she doesn't write very well. Thats strange cuz while I was around the corner looking at the frozen cakes I watched her put Happy Birthday on 6 cupcakes. Their cashiers are simply incompetent. One of their cashiers (Russian) rang up my items, but did not ask me for my membership info. so I ended up paying full price for everything! After reporting this mistake to this cashier, she said, "oh, I thought you already put in your information in." Wrong, you never asked! she then pointed to go wait in the customer service line that was 12 customers deep and moving one customer rep. helping one customer every 10-15 minutes. Unacceptable! Well, this is our grocery store! When we moved here from Colorado I couldn't believe how big this store is. If you need something, they probably have it! From groceries, to paint, to jewelry, this place has it all! We are usually able to find someone to help us! The manager of the jewelry department is exceptionally helpful, and she is a top-notch lady. Pros: they have everything!! Cons: the last time we went in they were out of the Original Gourmet Lollipops that we are addicted to. I hope that they don't stop carrying them in the store! read more

Pretty typical Fred Meyer. The layout of this one is actually pretty unique based on others I've seen in the area. I really want to like this one since it seems nicer than others, but overall it is just still just a Fred Meyer. The parking situation here is pretty generous if not quirky. There are only a couple bus routes that service this area, so most people are probably driving. They have all your usual amenities, and the clothing section seems more enjoyable than other locations. Never had a problem here, but I'm not on the edge of my seat waiting for the next trip here. Still, I enjoy this location, and I'll probably be back. read more

Recently remodeled!! The store has been refreshed and has a great open look to it now.The major downside is that now I can't find anything! They've decided to put their alcohol into its own area with a register just for alcohol purchases. I have mixed feelings about it, but so far I'm finding that it's not slowing me down...mostly because it's closed during the hours I shop so my buying routine doesn't change. Fred Meyer has all the things that you'd expect to find at a grocery store. Interestingly enough I can find things at Auburn that I can't find at other Freddy's, but this store doesn't appear to have anything special that I can't get else where. Overall it gets the job done nicely and the prices are pretty on par with the rest of the grocery stores. read more

Customer service is very questionable at this location... Kristine at the seafood department has been very snarky, rude, and a ball of attitude toward my mother, aunt, and grandma. The managers apologized on her behalf but does that really do anything? Not to mention, I've seen a large rat run between the soda/chip aisle. Why is it Freddie's new policy to scan my drivers license to buy over 18 products like beer when a glance at my license will show I'm long-in -the tooth and born during Eisenhower"s first administration ? Don't color me paranoid nor with something to hide but I refuse to have my driver's lincense scanned even with reassurnce I won't go into any system nor will they rat me out to Medicare for my bad habits. Being from California, this chain of stores do not exist. Not having a wide frame of reference, I've really only been to a handful of these stores while up in Washington. My favorite one so far has been the one in Auburn. It is clean, the layout is clear, they have individual checkout lines that are the bit easier to get to and allows you to relate to your cashier little bit more. This location is clean, and large, however, the clientele can be a bit seedy and there are many of our favorite members of the vagrant lifestyle hanging out at entrances and exits. For this reason I don't like to frequent the store too much after dark, due to reports of theft and other crimes. Otherwise, a good store. read more

Our recent order for delivery by "Instacart" from Fred Meyer in Kent, went wrong in every way possible. Caused by poor delivery service from instacart, our order was never delivered or delivered to the wrong address. So, I re-ordered, and delivery was scheduled for 10 AM. By 1:00 Pm the second order had not appeared, so I went to the Fred Meyer store to register a complaint and or get my money back. Th manager was sympathetic but was unable to help and I don't know why and went home only to find my order had been delivered four hours late. As I looked int my checking account and to my surprise, I had paid for two orders from Fred Meyer; adding insult to a bad experience with Instacart. I had to change my credit card to avoid further theft. Today, my account has been refunded to the amount paid for groceries never received and with to thank Fred Meyer's honesty, never again will we use or recommend INSTACART! The taller guy that works in the meat and seafood department who has glasses is always extremely rude here. I don't know how he hasn't been fired. Everytime I shop here he has an attitude and is unhelpful. I've seen him be rude to even his own coworkers? When you ask for help he give abunch of attitude.. even though it's his job? The last interaction I had with him I asked him what I could substitute for a certain type of meat and what what the closest type and he was bothered that I asked him for help and he literally says "nothing". ??? Normally this is a standard trip, one stop get everything you need and get out. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any dept store. Telling an employee their restroom needs attention is apparently "not their job" . There was poo on the seats, paper everywhere except where it could be used. I like the self check out lines they added. Very efficent and much needed. It sometimes can get a little busy(unwanted activity) at night in the parking lot. I don't feel safe on occasion because of the shady characters lurking in the outside of the store. This used to be my favorite store back 10 plus years ago. I don't like the new layout. I called the pharmacy after 11:00 to get my last refill (which also happens to fall on the last day to refill) and their phone lines are down (I called two near by FM stores to see if I could get the script transferred and their phones are down. Now I have to drive up there. On top of that they have completely closed the west entrance to the store which means more walking (I'm disabled) through the store to see if the pharmacy is even open! They've lost most of my business, I now do most grocery shopping at another store and everything else through Amazon. Poor customer experience! read more

If i could give a zero star review for the store managers Michael Hunter and Kevin Carlson i would. My mom was awarded $100 gift card for her retirement that was purchased at their store. As she knows that all sales are final for gift cards. Her card just would not work in their terminal. As my mom approached them to discuss the issue Michael told her that she needs to back up he likes his space. Is that how you treat a senior citizen in your store. She was trying to make room for the other shoppers in the store and not clog the isle. He was very rude and dismissive. Kevin told us that unfortunately their is a huge issue with fraud with the gift cards if they know that then why not put them up like they do alcohol? People are wasting money in their stores and instead of being apart of the solution they are apart of the problem. I have never seen a " store manager" that isnt solutions driven. ***RACIALLY PROFILED HERE*** This is your standard grocery store. I've been coming to the store for years and still haven't been able to remember exactly where everything is, my internal Compass definitely does not work inside the store. At one point they were moving things around I guess to make them easier to find, but I don't think that worked. They've always got a highway patrolman OFFICER not patrolling anything but more like standing against a wall watching us leave. One morning my boyfriend was walking out at the same time they were arresting another young black man and the cart boy said my boyfriend had on his coat and had stolen it from the bathroom. So they stopped him from walking out the grocery store to further interrogate him. he had to show his receipt to prove he wasn't stealing the groceries . I literally had to walk inside the store to explain to all of the staff and the non patrolling highway patrolman that he owned his own business and that we NEED don't steal. So I guess you can't walking to this location wearing a Northface jacket because the staff assumes that you walked into the bathroom and stole it, I guess he's the only one in the world with a North Face jacket. it was sad that they were definitely racially profiling us that morning.In addition to that, they usually don't have a staff member working the liquor section so you have to go to the front and ask for someone to go back and grab it from the liquor section which usually takes about 10 minutes. Also if you do go back to the liquor section they have to walk you up to the front with the liquor they will not hand it to you because they assume that ALL people steal read more

I only shop at Fred Meyer once in a while and it seems every time I do go there there is always a reason not to go back. I understand the lack of employees in the store is an issue but, the quality of the workers has gone down as well. I went in on Thursday mid-morning to have a little bit of cooked food from the deli section. They were still cooking and had to settle for Chicken tenders. The employee barely spoke any English, and when I asked for a supervisor that gal snapped at me saying "She is ALREADY helping you....". Rather than argue, I paid for a few tenders and went to sit down to eat, and lo and behold, the same woman was sitting there feeding her face and girthy frame while playing with her cell phone. Fred Meyer always had too few people working in the store but this person should not be in customer service at a food company. They never seem to learn and I will not come back here. read more

Staff at this location a very unwilling to help out, and when asked for help at the aisle for the formula. The employee mocked me, as I was walking away. The disrespect to the self checkout as I asked the employee for assistance and she would not help but rathe much continue her conversation with another employee. I am writing an update because there have been some items addressed since I last wrote this review. - They now have a great display of fresh basil - Lines have been shorter/there have been more registers open on my last few visits - Selection has been a bit better on certain items. More options available I still see an issue that could be addressed going forward: - Restocking: lots of times the items I am looking for are gone and I am stuck looking at empty spots on the shelf (especially in the produce area) Nice to see some positive changes though! :) read more
