Stop using instacart as shoppers. Hire your own shoppers to pick the items. I've tried instacart twice for this store. My first order was dropped off at the wrong address. My second order had some poor substitution decisions. I ordered decaffeinated Coke, I received caffeinated Coke. I don't do caffeine as it lowers my threshold for having a seizure. I am writing an update because there have been some items addressed since I last wrote this review. - They now have a great display of fresh basil - Lines have been shorter/there have been more registers open on my last few visits - Selection has been a bit better on certain items. More options available I still see an issue that could be addressed going forward: - Restocking: lots of times the items I am looking for are gone and I am stuck looking at empty spots on the shelf (especially in the produce area) Nice to see some positive changes though! :) read more

I live right by the store so it's convenient to shop at since the store hours are 7am-11pm. BUT, the service here SUCKS! ESPECIALLY the customer service counter! I have never experience such terrible service! One lady didn't even know what she was doing and gave me attitude and another lady made me go wait in line again (over such a simple process) and wasn't friendly what so ever. It's unfortunate because it's so close to my home but the service at the customer service counter makes me want to stay away. read more

This Fred Meyer has really gotten worn down over the years. I revisited this place for the first time in 6 months and I was shocked by how things have changed. They were remodeling the store when I went (2 weeks ago) and things were really ugly and dirty. Even outside of the market, there were pieces of random trash all over the parking lot and against the wall. Additionally, one of my friends tells me that there is a lot of teenage shoplifting going on. This is one of the more popular locations for local niche gangs to take items to resell. Your common, run-of-the-mill Fred Meyer. Unfortunately it's in the badish area of Kent, so you're always going to meet/see interesting people... A lot of the staff is just there to do their job. They don't want to make small talk, or go out of their way to help, but will if you ask. Nothing spectacular. They have everything I need which is why I do a lot of my grocery shopping here - I love the Simple Truth Organic line that they have. All in all, it's just a basic grocery store. I stop here once and a while for odds and ends. I don't live in the area, so I don't do my usual shopping at this location. I do work in the area, so I've been in and out for the past 6 years. It has really cleaned up in that time. They made it look much nicer inside and made the grocery part bigger. I've always found what I wanted whenever I stop in. I never have to wait in line for gas, and they have reasonable and competitive gas prices. (I don't usually shop enough to get a steep discount on gas.) It makes me sad because this is my Fred Meyer. I know it's corona virus time, but their is garbage found outside the store as well as around the carts almost always. More times than not, there are no grocery carts in the store. I have to go back outside to get one. There are some shady spots near the store, but there are also quite a few middle income families that live nearby. I think I've about had it. It doesn't feel safe anymore. I called the director of the store and this is what I was told. If they come in with a doctors note we can't make them wear a mask. What kind of doctor would say that. I took a ring to have prone fixed...six months later my stone fell out. I was told the work was only garranted for only three months... There went 98.00. I have a love/hate relationship with this store. It is so close to my house, they have a great selection of groceries and household items and their prices aren't to bad. What I hate about it is the lack of competent cashiers running the self serve checkouts. Half the time they are spaced out or talking with friends/coworkers and are completely oblivious that the machine has stopped and needs their input. I'm not asking for much more than pay attention to your job, it's an union position so you are paid way more than you deserve for the amount of effort put into it. The only other negative is they put way to many displays in the middle of walkways making it hard to navigate the store especially if you are there with a disabled person (which I frequently am). read more

The pick up service is totally a joke. The first time I tried this service I was notified two hours before pick up that 7 out of 10 of my grocery was not available. I went pick them up anyway. Nevertheless I tried second time. This time the pickup time was available two days later when I made order on line via the app. When the pick up slot between 4 to 5 pm is up, a phone call notifying me there would be some delay. When asked I was told the new time would be a 5 and a person would call. I waited till 5:15 nobody called. So I called to check the progress. To my surprise, a clerk told me many persons in store were sick and in quarantine. It sounded hopeless and horrifying so I cancelled my order right away. Later on had a communication with manager, I was given reason like computer give them unlimited orders and have too many seniors working there. It appears the project was handled by a butch of incompetent people who could not even come up with a decent excuse. I will never waste my time again!! read more

The store has improved a thousand times since the remodel. The only bad thing is I can't find anything anymore. Thankfully the staff is glad to help me find anything I need. The one downfall is the neighborhood the store is located in. Lots of homeless people hanging around asking for money and people shoplifting. read more

Whatever, I think Fred Meyer is a great grocery store, especially in comparison to other grocery places close to my house: QFC (so expensive) and Safeway (actually not that bad). First, it's huge so they've got a large selection of products, not just food. You can get whatever you need for your house, yard, wardrobe, and meals in one stop. It's hella convenient. Their clothes are definitely ridiculously overpriced though, so I'd avoid that if you don't have a lot of cash to burn on average-made and average-looking garments. Second, their staff is friendly (when they're around). If you need help finding an item, the staff will help you and they'll be friendly and nice about it. Their cashiers are chatty and friendly as well and, for the most part, quick. I like Fred Meyer's produce and wine selection, although sometimes their bell peppers and jalapenos are ugly. I also wish they had more variety of fancy, gourmet cheeses and desserts, but that's not a big deal at all. Finally, their rewards program is pretty sweet for the gas discount. Every time you shop, you rack up points. Whenever you get 100 points or something like that, you get 10 cents off per gallon at select gas stations (not just the Fred Meyer station). Pretty cool. I've used that to my advantage. The West side parking lot is sketchy as hell though. There's always some car parked off way in the corner on idle waiting around. And then, sure enough, another car pulls up, a window rolls down, and just like that, they exchange what they need and that's that. Until the next time. read more

My boyfriend his twin and I went to this location last night for candles, a wave cap, and a brush. There's an aisle labeled "ethnic" for hair care so we went there looking for the brush and wave cap. There were no brushes or wave caps on the aisle so we decided to ask an associate. He asked her for a wave cap, or a durag like scarf for his hair and she told home to look in the "Home Depot" section. I'm not sure if this is a joke or not but we felt very offended by it. Walmart has wave caps and brushes and it's said we recognized what type of consumer Fred Meyer caters to. It almost makes me not want to shop here. And I won't be for sometime. read more

I think that I may have posted a review of FM Covington location under Grocery Outlet. Anyway, tonight I was at FM and my purpose was to pick up some chicken. Unfortunately the already packaged chicken pieces were out. Reluctantly I went over to the deli area the one with the employees. Make a long story short, it was the most awkward wait. It was way too long. The employee was really slow. Then after the employee took care of the customer in front of me, the employee kept engaging in conversation about football. This was after the employee received his completed order. I felt ignored. One pet peeve? there were other employees behind the counter but all of them seem to ignore me too. There was no "I'll be right there" . It's not cool to ignore a person especially when there are only two people ( myself & the young man in front of me). I took the high road & left. I've seen people get their purse snatched in the parking lot, I've had a lady following me crying and begging me for formula for her baby...I finally caved it and bought it for her, only for her to grab my receipt and go straight to the return line. I have almost stopped shopping at the 240th Fred Meyers. Renovation way to long, a mess, now we are paying for it, the pricing on everything I buy is up from .50 to $1.00 more. Now they think everyone want "MEGA" toilet paper, who does their marketing, its very bad. I started shopping a few miles away, friendly workers, smiling and asking to help you. I did not know how to respond. I talked to the check out person, she handed me a survey, its a another large company doing survey for 5-6 different named stores. One telephone number for help and customer service is referred for all complaints. Funny, these HUGH companies have no problems. If you need a refund you stand in line with Cashier Check people, international whatever, no I just want the money you over charged me for in the first place. I should go to this location more often because it's close to the casa, but I find myself going to a different one more often; mainly because that one is on the way home. But I have no issues with this location. In my opinion, I think most Fred Meyers are the same. One-stop shopping. Has pretty much the same items/deals as other locations I've been to. I see workers always stocking veggies/meats/whatever so they try to keep a stock of items. I'm not a huge shopper though; I like to just get what I need and head out the door. (Although I do have girly tendencies and like to look around when I have time to kill ;P ). And if you need gas, well have no fear, this location has a gas station also! So yeah, if you don't want to drive around all over to get stuff, I'd come here to get your one-stop shoppin' doneso. read more

Stopped in to pick up a potted plant for work. The gal in the garden section was very helpful. She helped me find what I was looking for without spending a lot of money. On my way to check out, I was distracted by a display of seasonal items. Good for you Freddy's, your marketing ploy worked. My review is based on the photo department. I went to go pick up some pictures I had web ordered, and Oleg was the cashier there. I waited a couple minutes while he texted on his phone, and he could clearly see me, but he kept texting. When he came over they couldn't find my order and I had to wait five more minutes for my pictures. When he had them done he handed them to me and that's it he didn't apologize or anything. This has happened a few times so I thought I should make a note on here about it. Their store is great. I love the selection, and the helpful employees.
