    Willy's Discount Workwear

Went back to Willy's Discount WW and they refused to take boots back after 1 wear, even with receipt! Terrible customer service, and even worse return policy. Being in construction industry, over 20 years, I would defiantly not recommend this place to anyone, more the opposite. One star because I can't give none or negative.

But in general it's a nice and easy place to find any kind of work wear you might need in one spot, even if it's not super cheap. The problem I had was mostly with shoes. Their selections were small, in non slip boots they basically had two brands, both of them their own. Available sizes were super small or super huge, in the range of what most men would actually wear they had next to nothing. But i got my shoes and immediately regretted it. They had built in "moisture wicking" material inside to make them water proof. It did nothing to stop water from coming in but stopped all moisture from getting out. Within an hour my feet would prune from all the heat and sweat kept in, and if you stepped in a puddle it would go straight through. Assuming it was a defect I exchanged them in store for another pair. They were pretty decent about the refund, though they asked a lot of questions considering when I bought them they told me there was a 30 (or was it 45?) day guarantee on product quality. But they accepted the return but told me I had to wait 3-4 weeks for another shipment of my size to come in (again they don't stock normal sizes). 5 weeks later (yes it was late) I finally got my new pair of shoes. They still trapped way to much heat, but at least the water proofing worked and walking to work in the rain no longer got my feet wet. Fast forward 5 months of wearing the boots 8 hours a day, 5 days a week in a fairly low impact job. I work in a kitchen on a tiled floor, it's not outside in dirt, gravel etc. I am not running back and forth etc. Yet these $80 shoes discounted down from something like 120 had their soles burn through. I noticed within about 2 months a lot of the "non slip" traction was wearing out, now it's gone all the way and exposed the inner honeycomb in just a few months. These big heavy duty shoes are mostly empty hard plastic, only the thinnest of cheap rubber covers the bottom. I had another pair of boots, they lasted years. These ones still look almost brand new except now the bottoms are gone like they were a cheap pair of Payless shoes.
