I just got of the phone with Kroger customer service. I tried this afternoon to return a fountain that doesn't work. Told that I had gone beyond their 90 day limit, There is no mention about a 90 day return policy on the receipt, and we are at 98 days. The wife was in the end of June and was told to return the fountain. It was also brought up that we returned 2 packages of very tough new york strip steak at the beginning of the this month, Bought Friday returned Monday no receipt. We do a fair amount of shopping at this store but I guess Safeway or Winco will benefit as we won't be shopping at FREDDIES anymore. read more

I went to Fred Meyers last night and I bought some frozen shrimp and when I went to check out I couldn't believe that they only had one register open and one of the self check out was open. And the lines for the self checkout and the one register that was open the 2 lines that was open the lines went all the way to the back of the store and around the corner. This is totally unacceptable for Fred Meyers, I was in the self checkout line clear in the back of the store and they didn't even open another register until the lines was pretty much done. This Fred Meyers on Baker View in bellingham has to be the worst store that I have ever been to. By the time I got home my shrimp was completely thawed out so you can't put them in the freezer again. So we had to cooked the shrimp that we bought for a party this coming weekend. And I put them in the oven and cooked them and I just got to say that this was the worst shrimp that I have ever had. The breading was all mushy and falling off. I know what the shrimp is supposed to be like, but because they seem to refuse to open at least one more register. I really don't know what to say about my experience in that Fred Meyers because there is no way acceptable to only have one check stand and only like 8 self checkout that was going. And also can I just say that whoever it is that does the ordering for Fred Meyers should be fired because 95% of the time that we go to Fred Meyers they never seem to have anything that we wont is always out of stock and like the ice cream sandwiches that we wont they never seem to have it in stock. And if-were we was to get lucky and get one box and they are most likely pissed off at me for this complaint but they should have "NEVER " let the 2 lines go clear to the back of the store because someone must not care about their customers, and I heard a few people talking about g V embarrassing it was to that people got tired of waiting so they leftovers but there is no way that people wanted B to buy food and put the food in the freezer. But after the freeze thawing out you can't refreeze the food after it thawed out. So I think that Fred Meyers should be giving the money back to the people who's food thawed out because I know that I can't afford that. I had to throw my shrimp away because it didn't taste right at all. But I don't think that Fred Meyers will do anything about it. And they have the worst grocery carts that I have ever seen, they don't roll right and very few carts would even work right. And with Fred Meyers being a big corporation, you would think that they would either repair them or replace them. I'm just really upset at Fred Meyers because of the really long lines and our food completely thawed out. I really don't know if I will ever go back to that store because of the way that they treated people and waited until the 2 lines to go down and then they opened up another register. So I hope that the higher up people see this complaint and do something about it or they are going to lose a lot of shoppers because of last night. read more

Terrible pharmacy. The drive thru is not open on the hours posted it should be open. Prescriptions take so long to fill. 4 different people have picked up my medications which include a controlled substance without any questions asked, no proof of identification. Super inconvenient and definitely willing to give a controlled substance out to anyone as long as they provide the right birthdate. read more

I have been a customer of yours for many years in several locations and used your website for deals, coupons and discounts, but found that it was taking far longer to create a simple grocery list doing the research to clip coupons, etc. No more! I've removed the app from my phone and will not be going on my computer anymore. Life is too short. If I miss some special deal, then so be it. I can always go somewhere else for lower prices. If you need wifi and shopping, don't shop here, go to the Co-op down the road at Cordata. This location's wifi is terrible and better than terrible wifi would be no wifi. I used to really enjoy my shopping experience here but can't use my smartphone apps that help with my grocery shopping. Fix your wifi and I'll be back! read more

*This review is for the Fred Meyer gas station on Bakerview* My number 1 gas station in Bellingham! Fred Meyer is a breath of fresh air after having very shifty experiences at other nearby gas stations - one of which includes having my card compromised at Arco (see my review for THAT). Since I visit Bellingham every couple weeks, and my time here is basically limited to grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, the novelty of fuelling up at Costco wore off in a hurry - Only Amex accepted, HUGE lineups...totally not worth the few cents saving per gallon. I've never waited in line for more than 5 minutes at Fred Meyer. It's right off the highway, so you don't get stuck in traffic on Meridian. At busy times, they have staff directing you to an available pump, which means there's no mad-dash to the pumps and arguing about who got there first. (The pumps reach either side of the car, btw). Plus, they ALWAYS have the cheapest prices (other than Costco). Also, they have these nifty vending machines at each pump, some housing snacks and drinks, others housing washer fluid and armor-all. Brilliant! A big plus for me is that they accept all major credit cards with no zip code needed (meaning I as a Canadian don't have to go inside to pay). Between the awesome location, best prices, and ultimate efficiency, Fred Meyer gas station is the only one I use in Bellingham. read more

A friend told me about Fred Meyer in conversation once, but I never went there, until I stumbled upon it one day... Located across the overpass of the Bellingham Airport, right off of Highway 5. It's huge in there. It's like a cross between a Lucky and Wal-mart Prices are great and selection is pretty wide. read more

Of the large grocery stores in Bellingham, this is my favorite. Their prices are more expensive than Target's grocery department, but their selection is far more comprehensive. They open at 7am and are not too busy early in the day. The store also contains a large apparel department ( a lot of synthetic fabrics and elastic waists - blech!) toys, household goods, health and beauty, hardware, furniture, office supplies and gardening stuff. Certainly a bonus is when you use their customer loyalty card and spend $100 in a month you receive a one time $.10 per gallon discount at their gas station. Just using the loyalty card without any minimum purchases will get you a $.03 per gallon discount. It is worth it to flip through their flyer (located in a stand near the door) to check out the bargains. I invariably use a coupon that is contained in the flyer (unfortunately it often looks like a cougar has ripped it out when I hand it to the sales clerk). read more

I usually have super pleasant visits at this Fred Meyer and all the employees are very nice and polite but tonight I came in around 9 and went to get some groceries and then headed over to the carhart section of the clothing store and I understand theft is very common here but as soon as I walked in I was greeted which was fine and normal but while I looked at the pants several other employees came and asked if I was okay and one was pointlessly rearranging a nearby rack to keep an eye on me. I have always been honest at all the stores I visit and know a lot of the employees and it's just degrading feeling that way for no reason. There are better ways of approaching a situation like that. Went to Bakerview Fred Meyer and to the checkout with a patio umbrella. There were 2 signs, one for $29.99 & one for $99.00. Evidently I brought the $99 one , which I didn't want. I told the checker to take it off my bill, and she said she couldn't, I had to return it. I was frustrated and let her know, she just told me to go over to the customer service counter and do a return, and snottily told me that she "hoped My day got better." The bagger did not offer to carry the giant box over to the service counter, and "Gio" at the service counter was neither polite or sympathetic. Crappy policy! What if the checker had scanned an item twice? Send the customer over to the counter for that? ? read more

This place is usually smokin' busy, and for good reason. They have awesome deals, great produce and reasonable prices. Sure, it may be a little bit more expensive than Walmart, but is never quite as busy and to me, seems a lot cleaner. I always hit Fred Meyer as my last stop before coming back to Canada because they have awesome frozen meals, cheap dairy and a great deli/bakery. I also usually pick up a $2 or $3 bottle of wine. Tip: Be sure to sign up for a free rewards card, as you will earn points towards free groceries as well as a discount on gas at the Fred Meyer gas station. Very well worth it! read more

Freddy's stores in general are pretty great. From soup to (hardware and edible) nuts they got it all. Open pretty early and late (7 to 11 last I checked) Of the two in Bellingham this is the newer, and in my opinion better, store. The Lakeway one is fine as well. On the parking lot (as other folks mentioned): Yep, it is rough. The design is ok, it is just too small for the level of business they get. No real way for it to get bigger now that they are (soo sloowly) building a motel next door. Avoid before holidays. Keep Canadian holidays in mind as well. Maybe they could build a garage on one side? Probably too pricey though. read more

In regards to the Toy section... don't trust them. I just so happen to find the "LEGO Star Wars Resistance X-Wing Fighter 75149" in stock. Turns out, after spending over $80 on the product and shipping it across the country as a Christmas gift, it was missing pieces. Not just any small piece mind you, a god damn wing. Disclaimer: The box had been re-taped up, meaning it had been previously returned for whatever reason. We had the most incredible and impressive experience at Fred Meyer on Bakerview in Bellingham, WA. We were in town from California to attend our sons graduation from Western WA University. We had a graduation dinner party scheduled for Saturday evening at a local brewery, and although the venue was super cool, we wanted to create a fun and happy vibe in the space we were going to be using. The day before our party we went to Fred Meyer which was conveniently located next to our hotel, where we met Jamie in the floral/balloon department and Aaron in the photo department. Jamie is the most amazing person!! She was kind, organized, and hardworking from start to finish. In less than 24 hours she put together our order for 13 balloon bouquets and 7 gorgeous flower arrangements. We scheduled a pick up time with her and when we arrived our balloons and flowers were perfect and ready to go. She provided us with boxes for all our flowers and our balloons were tied together and easy to transport to the venue. Upon our arrival to pick up everything, Jamie greeted me with a big hug and congratulated us on our sons graduation, and then sent us on our way (there was no standing around or waiting for our order to be finished, it was ready to go!). Jamie was absolutely wonderful to work with. Aaron in the photo department was equally wonderful, we needed a 16x20 poster sized print of our son to use as part of the party decor and Aaron walked us through the whole process of how to get the photo out of my telephone and into their computer for printing. Aaron made it easy and it was lightening speed fast! While our print was processing we went and did some shopping in the store. We came back 20 minutes later to find our beautiful photo ready to go. Jamie and Aaron were professional, personable, and awesome to work with. Fred Meyer is a "one stop shop". You will find everything you need under one roof. Thank you Jamie and Aaron. Customer service here has DRAMATICALLY improved. Everyone says "hello" when you come near them. This is for their pharmacy department. I love that they always have a full, upbeat staff ready to get you in and out fast and efficiently! If there's any issues with insurance, pharmacy not having a specific med, needing to contact your primary care physician, etc. they always do their best to keep you in the loop and handle issues right away as they come! From the front staff to the back Pharmacists who will completely stop what they are doing to explain anything to you with a smile I give you kudos for a job well done! Ordered chicken strips from the deli and a biscuit and macaroni salad. The chicken strips were so dried out and it tasted like flour with no seasoning. It was awful. The biscuit was dried out too. Salad bar used to very good but lately the items are very limited so now it's boring. Huge chunks of raw caulifower and broccoli. No bacon bits. The variety became smaller but the same price as before. I think whoever prepares salads should take a course in salad preperation as the salad bar is dull and uninteresting. Went through self checkout. The annoying lady that works in there was like right in my face the whole time and came over to double check if I had scanned and paid for all my makeup items. She said well it's says u should have 15. I said well I didn't scan a blush cuz u put it back . She says oh. Ok. I swear WASHINGTON is the freakin WORST !!! Fred Meyer kicks ass. The alternative for us Woodhooders is the grungy Albertsons or expensive Haggen on Meridian. Yes it's busy but why shouldn't it be? You can buy furniture AND beer - how great is that? Funny to see all the Canucks on here. Welcome - you are not hated by all B'Hammers. This store has everything and is very clean. In general the clientele is showered and well groomed - always a plus in B'Ham. Produce may slip a little in winter and the parking could be better (I don't think they knew just how busy they would be) but this store is remarkably consistent in it's friendly employees and selection of stuff - rock on Fred Meyer. read more

I mostly go in there for the water. I noticed that every time I shop for water, there is an employee in the water aisle, and it seems like I am watched or monitored by them. I reported this to a manager, and it seemed as if the manager knew who I was and didn't really seem to want to help. I never gave my name to him either. I went to return a product, and it seems as if people are on standby like they want to pick a fight with me for some strange reason. This happened again today. I do not really feel safe shopping there anymore. I don't know what it is that I am doing wrong and why people look at me the way they do everywhere I go. THANKS FOR NOTHING, FRED MEYER BAKERY-BAKERVIEW I ordered three 1/2 sheet cakes with custom design and colors on May 12th for my husband's retirement party. I called today to confirm the pick-up time for tomorrow. They lost my order and couldn't find any record of it even though I have the email that confirmed the order with the order number on it. I gave them the order number and they still couldn't find it, but I don't think they looked as it took about 10 seconds for her to tell me she couldn't find it after I gave it to her. Then she asked me to tell her what kind of cakes I ordered and every time I answered her question she talked loudly over me until I just gave up. So I went to Costco, bought a membership that I had managed to avoid for 15 years, and I am grateful to have ended up with two 4th of July cakes and one birthday cake. read more

I am in this store regularly, shopping for my family as well as my clients. This store is clean and full of fresh produce, bread, meat and deli items. Very recently the store was renovated and updated. Fred Meyer is a one-stop shopping centre where you can find just about anything! I do believe that the groceries for more reasonably priced and the majority of the grocery stores in this area. The other items tend to be a little bit more expensive. I bought a Victrola nostalgic entertainment center from the Fred Meyer Bakerview store. I had it for 3 months and the volume quit working. Basically the electronics department gave me the bums rush out of the store saying they wouldn't take it back and told me I had to deal with the manufacturer myself. Their attitude is; it is your baby do what you want with it. If I ever bought an electronic product from a retail store again it would be from Walmart who is the best at taking care of their customer when things don't go well from the products made in China. read more

This was my first experience going to Fred Meyers, and I have to say I LOVED it! They had some great deals and I especially appreciated the fact that they have a health food section. I like the simple truth brand, and they have a lot of their stuff. I was a little surprised that they had so many things left-I went during the tail end of their sale and they still had stuff that was advertised. The staff was friendly-I had a few questions about where things were and the guy was very friendly and helped me track some stuff down. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it was super de duper busy. It was probably partially due to the fact that I went during prime shopping time (6:30 on a Saturday evening). Im a well dressed, clean cut, 34 year old man with a family of three, but they call security to follow me around every time I go into to the clearance section for coats or the carhartt section. My family has spent $35k to $40k over the last 3 1/2 years here. Thats not an exchagrationand, and I've never shop lifted in my life. We do all are grocery shopping, some clothes, scripts and all our gas shopping here. Normally I'm wearing carhartt while shopping for more, but still I hear "security check to section A", followed by someone in plain clothes following me around. It happened when my wife and special needs son were shopping with me. It was very obvious too, because we were the only people in the entire clothing section. The first time it happened we walked out and spent 150 on pants at another store. The second time we walked out too. Today it happen again and if the carhartt pants were not 40% cheaper than the same on amazon I would have bought them somewhere else too. I understand they have to catch and stop shoplifting, but they don't need to announce it over the intercom then follow me. They could just follow me discreetly and accomplish the same thing without me knowing I was being watched. My family and have talked it over and we are going to attempt to rectify this situation by bringing this up to a manager. Depending on what they say, and if they will stop announcing there security checks over the intercom for the whole store to hear, we might just end up taking are loyal business somewhere else. I'm tired of being watched and treated like a criminal, we are friends with a security guard at another Fred Meyers and they catch plenty of shoplifters without announcing it over the intercom. You shouldn't be made to feel like a criminal by a store you spend tens of thousands of dollars at. read more

I absolutely love this store. Their food is cheap, they have great selection, and they are almost never out of stock of what I want. The employees are friendly, and the cashier and bagger are always polite to me when I check out. The store is very clean, and it is a pleasure to wander the aisles here. I LOVE the discount I get on gas for being a rewards member. As with any store, there are always a few things that could be improved. For this store, it is these: the ladies room needs to be bigger, the gas station lineup does not work well without a flagger, and the layout of the grocery section is a bit inconvenient. Ever since they re-opened, some of the food aisles are over by the medicine/personal hygiene area. But I can easily live with those flaws when every other experience I have had at the store has been positive. read more

SHOPPER ALERT: FRED MEYER Re: MANDARIN ORANGES After numerous in-store complaints and on-line complaints to Fred Meyer, they are still putting out bags (and in boxes) oranges that are spoiled, rotten, smashed and leaking all over the other fruit, and drawing flies, and are generally unsanitary and consumer wasteful. When dept. employees were asked about this practice, they stated that they know there are broken, smashed, and leaking fruit in the bags, but policy is to put them out for sale anyway. Fred Meyer management appears to condone this deceptive, sloppy merchandising practice because it has continued for over a year. Not all shoppers know they need to pick up each bag and roll the oranges around so they can select a bag of oranges that are ALL edible. Many shoppers will not know they have purchased a bag of oranges that has spoiled/moldy, smashed, inedible, unsanitary oozing/leaking fruit in it until they get home and take the oranges out of the netting bag. YOUR MONEY AND TIME WILL BE BETTER SPENT SHOPPING AT FOOD CO-OP, SAFEWAY, HAGGEN, and TRADER JOE'S. read more
