If I push for the 5 bus and the line is long I perhaps can still ride the 6 bus. Or I can hop off the 15 min bus and run in and catch the next hour bus in if lucky 10-15 min run buy and ride. This review is specifically for the pharmacy. Absolutely despicable. Every time I pick up a prescription, I have to visit 2-3 times to get them to fill it. If I call in advance and ask them when it will be ready, I can expect that it will not be ready at that time. Sometimes this happens multiple times, they'll tell me to come back even later, and when I do, it's still not ready. I'll be looking for a new pharmacy. read more

We had seen so many Fred Meyers and so had to check it out! Apparently, Fred Meyer is Walmart. Well, I must say it is given Walmart vibes, but seems to be much bigger! I loved how they have Ellenos yogurts. Walmart back home does not carry Ellenos. I didn't even know they had a coffee flavored Ellenos. It was fun walking around the store; it was quite large. Didn't go down every aisle since it was late. The pricing is about the same as Walmart. There was a clearance area I spotted with 70% off bags and other accessories. I would visit a Fred Meyer store again if near one. We just bought snacks and coffee for the train ride back to Seattle. read more

Ridiculous! I almost didn't want to leave a review because my experience was just so lame. But i read other reviews that mentioned similar situations. I just walked out of there after standing in a ridiculous long line waiting to pay. After I paid I got my receipt and headed to the door. As I was walking, I thought the total price seemed a little low. I checked my receipt and although all the items were scanned, a large gas can was not on the receipt. I went immediately back to the clerk in the line I had been in. I told the clerk that I didn't think the gas can had showed up on the receipt. She looked at it and said that it didn't look like it. She told me to just get back in line to pay for it! Wow! So I catch their mistake and they want me to sit in a long line AGAIN!!!! No good deed goes unpunished. I went immediately to the customer service and waited in line there!!! When someone finally helped me, all he did was say "you can pay for it here." I paid and then voiced my disappointment in being told to wait in line because surely customer service would care. Nope! All he said was "next time it happens just go back through the self-checkout." There was a HUGE line at self-checkout as half of them were closed. I responded with a are-you-kidding-me look and all he said, "I guess she should have taken care of you." That was IT! No "thanks for catching the mistake and being honest and coming back". No "oh I'm really sorry about that." Not even a blame it on the computers, "the computer must have messed up". Because I don't get around well I do my grocery shopping at Fred Meyer pick up on Lakeway . Lately I have found it very difficult to shop . They offered discounts on store brands but 80% of the Brand Products are either out of stock or unavailable . What's the deal . I have always loved their fish counter. The free herbs, lemon , garlic and butter are a huge plus. Staff is great. Good produce too! What I don't like is that in order to get the best prices, you have to download their app. I've tried their app and it was overwhelming and complicated. They said younger people like it. So I've basically switched to stores that don't require spending more time on my iPhone, and don't discriminate against older people who don't like apps. They do have problems with homeless folks, but that's not specific to Fred's. Tough to own a retail business in the downtown core. read more

This is one of the three grocery stores I frequent. The others being Food Co-op and Trader Joe's. Organic Produce (4 stars) Fred Meyer's offers an excellent selection of organic produce. The quality of their organic produce, particularly fruits, is not quite as good as that at the co-op, but their prices are great. Store Organic Brand (4 stars) They also have their organic brand: Simple Truth Organic. I often buy their organic milk, which in my opinion, is comparable with Trader Joe's organic milk in terms of quality and price. The main difference is that Fred Meyer's organic milk goes on sale, and it does so very often, but Trader Joe's milk never goes on sale. Service Deli (5 stars) The other day, I was VERY impressed by their service deli. I wanted a very small amount of Black Forest Ham (0.5 lb.). First of all, they sliced it for me. Yes, just half pound! Moreover, they showed me the first slice and asked me if that was the right thickness. They even offered me to try it! I just could not believe the level of service. The quality of the ham did not disappoint me, either. If I were wealthy, I would just shop at the co-op for everything. Deli failed on all 3 Levels. I am an easy customer: I probably tip too much, I give slack to new employees, I do the things that those of us that have worked in retail would like others to do for us. This experience left me with a "never go back" feeling. I stopped in for a quick deli meal around 2pm on a Wednesday. Grabbed a prepackaged sushi meal and headed to the large "Pay Here" sign at the deli. There are 2 people there behind the counter about 6 feet away: A tall guy standing there talking to a woman who is leaning on a machine and putting stickers on some empty bags or something. They are talking about some work related thing so I wait, expecting they will stop, ask to help me and I will say something witty like, "I waited just long enough that now I want to buy a chicken leg, too!" They'd laugh and we'd go from there. But no. They just ignore me. I am standing right there. Nothing. I'm starting get a little bit irritated but then I am rescued: a woman in street clothes from behind and to my right asks me, "Have you been helped?" "No," I say. "Not Yet." She stops like she is thinking, then turns and walks away. What? I turn around to the 2 workers and there is no change: They're still standing there. So I say, "Are you going to help me?" The guy comes over and asks a vague question about helping me and I say that I just want to pay for it. He responds that he isn't trained on the register and asks the woman, still leaning there, and she replies, "Nope, not me." I say, "Don't you sell things?" She shrugs, still leaning, and replies, "You can wait for ____ (I assume the street clothes woman), to come back if you want." I laugh out loud, take my sushi pack, put it back, and head for the door. But it gets worse On the way out I see a guy working and I ask if he is the manager. He isn't but he points at the manager who is putting apples in a display. I ask if he is the manager and then tell him that his deli crew is unhelpful and that he doesn't have a cashier over there at the "Pay Here." His reply is that they are new, not trained to take money, and it's "Getting There." We both look to the counter where both deli "employees" are watching us. The woman is still leaning. I say "That's it?" He shrugs. No reply. I leave--to never return to the Bellingham Fred Meyers store. A few tips for Fred Meyers: 1. First thing you do is train your employees to work with customers. Recognize that customers are there, and talk to them. Everything else is secondary. I feel this is obvious, but maybe not to the Bellingham Fredd Meyers. 2. If you ask a customer if they have been helped, you now have a responsibility to finish the job. Walking away is never an option. 3. If you are a Manager and you have a customer that is upset about something, it is your job to engage with that customer until you have resolved the issue. Every good manager knows that--Every. This is my go to Fred Meyer. Couple reasons why! Its close to the boarder but its not the closest one to the boarder. This means that they are pretty stocked up when it comes to milk, bread, cheese and etc. Lots of Canadian go the Bakerview location and its very common to see shelves empty over there. Prices are reasonable and products are fresh. They are well stocked. Service is definitely better than their competitors (Winco, Grocers, Haggy, Safeway etc). I find that they do put sales or popular items at the front of the store. Its good and bad. I usually head over the isle before going to the front. If you are a frequent shopper here like myself, its a better deal to sign up for the card. Every $500 spent per quarter = to free money and coupons. Also they have their own products: Like Fred Meyer ham and chicken wings at the deli section. Came here for the July 4th sale. Remember to check out during festive events for deals. I heard from the cashier that they will no longer be carrying Canadian brand clothings anymore. So right now there is a massive deal on Canadian brand clothings. read more

Broken out of service electric scooters (3) and (2) low powered nearly dead, (1). damaged vandalized vomited on abandoned at makeup isle and only (1) working by another customer. Major disappointment to my recollection never was this bad at store! I saw a (5) man team tagging looking and testing for unlocked door handles or open windows in parking lot to burglerize. I told a store manager who expressed no cares and no worries. This store does not put an effort to care for handicap people by not providing sufficient electric wheelchair and no safety security from criminal car thieves and checkout lines too long (10-15) customers in line. Do not shop at this store if you are handicap or value your car and need to make a fast purchase. So badly managed. Terrible! read more

This review is of the pharmacy at Lakeway store... they are severely understaffed at this time but today, the staff that was there were really working hard to have pleasant attitudes and keep things moving and keep customers happy. Unfortunately we had an issue with our prescription and insurance and yes the line was super long. I had a lot of time to observe from standing in that line waiting and it really gave me an appreciation for how hard the entire staff was working/and working together as a team! In the end we had to pay for something out of pocket (we really needed it and couldn't wait another week) but they really tried to help us out.. I think they do this for all of their customers! Fred Meyer has the best prices in this area and a good selection of a variety of foods if you can ever find what you're looking for. I find myself wandering around in there trying to find something basic just about every time I go there, and I usually just have to give up so I don't end up on that show Disappeared on Investigation Discovery. The personalized coupons they send to my address are really good. One time a got a free bag of Lay's and another time I got a free pint of Haagen-Dazs. [But usually the coupons get stolen from someone within the postal service before they reach my mailbox. I probably actually receive them about 40% of the time.] Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is because the last time I was there, using the dreaded self-checkout, I had some problems [as usual] and this very nice guy who works there helped me double-bag some items and was probably one of the most genuinely kind people I've ever met. His name was Jake. He should be the CEO or something. [But noooo, I'm sure they've gotta save that position for someone who's a dick, like every other corporation on the planet.] read more

This particular Fred Meyers is by far the best I've ever been to. The manager Mike is awesome, and the staff is as well. Dick and Dave over in the liquor section are awesome, And Brewer who works check out is probably the star of the show. The store is always clean, and there is rarely an outage of the things I want. Sure, the toilet paper situation two years ago was bad here, but it was everywhere else as well :-) And you can get no better meat or fish. I'm so grateful for the Fred Meyer online ordering and curbside pickup program. As an elderly and disabled individual, being able to get groceries safely is incredibly valuable. Being able to keep a cart going for long periods of time, and even revise the cart up until midnight the night before pickup, makes it all so easy. The employees that work the curbside are very curious and helpful. Wish they were allowed to take tips. Thanks to them for risking their health for the rest of us. read more

I don't live near this Fred Meyer and I just had to waste my time and money to drive out of my way to return to this store so they could remove the security tags from the clothes I purchased yesterday. The staff are really poor at their jobs. My experience at this Fred Meyer has definitely been sub par each visit; the staff are often rude at the checkout stand--and--you get asked crazy things by cashier clerks, like wanting to know where you live and then asking if you are going to feed them. I called the store and was directed to come in and stand in the customer service line and the over charge would be corrected. I asked if she would credit my charge card instead and was told NO. I did have to try out ClickList since the first three visits are free. Simply fill your virtual cart online, choose your pick-up time (can be the same day) and park in one of the dedicated parking spaces and phone the number on the sign. I love their fuel rewards program. The remodeled fueling station doubled in the number of pumps. Keep an eye out for the fliers to earn extra points. My mother enjoys the senior day Tuesdays. If you ever have any issues talk to the Manager, Mike. He's receptive and will follow-up or address any concerns. Fred Meyer pharmacy has been my pharmacy since I moved here in 2016. It was really easy to transfer my information over from the krogers I use to go to back home in Georgia and it was convenient. Recently however, it's been a nightmare! With the pharmacy line stretching all the to the jewelry center, prescriptions called in three days prior and still not being ready after spending an hour in line and the pharmacy tech with the pink hair being completely rude and unprofessional I am definitely considering taking my business elsewhere. I use the Walmart pharmacy for my dogs insulin and have NEVER had any issues whatsoever. There is never a line, the staff is super nice and patient and my order is ALWAYS ready when I get there. Even if I had just called it in that morning. Not sure what is going on at Fred Meyers but they definitely need to step their game up. Absolutely absurd! read more

I have traveled far and wide, and let me tell you, almost nothing comes close to Freddy's. I do about 80% of my shopping here most times, and the other at Trader Joe's. The store is split in half, with the usual suspects for what you think of "groceries" and the other half has the Home/Garden related things. As a college student, I have found discounted furniture here regularly. There is also a small camping area if you need something as you are leaving for your trip, and have forgotten mosquito repellent ( a funny story). Auto area with oils and other maintenance goods. Something that I like is how the deli pre-packs deli meats for after they close (9PM), so that if you go looking for sandwich ingredients, you could snag some sliced mesquite-smoked turkey. The electronic area is open until the store closes, but the jeweler, deli, and meat depts. close at 9, fyi. Another note: Out at the front entrance (south side), there is a water source to refill your 5 gallon jug. The machine accepts credit cards, and costs $2 for a complete refill. read more

We've been loyal Fred Meyer customers for over 20 years, different individual stores at different times, the Lakeway store in Bellingham for at least 10 years and in the last 3-4 years we've noticed a significant decline in some of their seafoods, specifically their whole sockeye salmon and now their Dungeness crab. Two sockeye in the last year have been UNPALATABLE. when taking them out of the wrapper immediately upon arriving home, there was a HEAVY FISHY SMELL. Even after an extensive rinse and several hour soak in the fridge with several water changes, the smell was heavy. when I filleted them, there were yellow and brown spots indicating blood had been had been left in the carcass near the spine and been left unrefrigerated for too many hours and started decomposing. Tried grilling it and smoking it after cutting out the obvious breaking down flesh and it was just gross and got tossed in the trash. Both fish were from (different) advertised sales at $5.99/lb. The purchasing manager had to know what product quality was, and it should have never been bought. Even if an accident (it wasn't) once at the store, it should have never been sold to anyone at any price. I don't know if it was fit for cheap cat food even, it was disgusting. Obviously some wholesaler had these batches of poorly handled salmon, offered, offered them to Fred Meyer super cheap and Fred Meyer figured they would just put them on sale for a great price and it would be fine. No!!! When I buy fish at a Big market name grocer, I expect the same high quality product no matter the purchase price. Fish that is unpalatable is a rotten deal to everyone at any price. How can you A-holes put such substandard product in your cases with a clear conscience? How can you not realize thats such a self-defeating brand destroying strategy as any? It's unethical and won't be tolerated by our family. It reflects so poorly on your entire store as I for one, cannot not resent your company every time I think of you or shopping there because truthfully, you have so little respect for me, you intentionally ripped me off by selling me garbage in place of food. We we're $800+\mo. Fred Meyer customers you drove away for a couple dollars of profit on trash seafood. Last night we purchased a Dungeness crab at the sale price of (surprise!) $5.99/lb brought it home and cleaned it and looking forward to delicious sweet crab. We both cracked open a leg and took a bite and got flaccid waterlogged fishy nastiness. Sample some body and claw meat, same nasty s**t. Wrapped it up in a plastic bag because it's going back and we are getting a refund. I want to call the manager out and have him eat the rest of it and tell us how good it is. Does he feed this putrid crap to his family? He should be forced to eat the horrible junk he's selling to the public. It's not a fluke. They clearly have a pricing strategy of marking bad seafood down to $5.99/lb but pretend it's the same as high quality product because there's no notice that it's low priced because it is poorly cared for, Substandard, inedible, s**t. I cannot State strongly how strongly I despise the store managers enough for treating us like dogs. You are repulsive people Doing a bang up job at pissing off the people you depend on to pay your bills and your salaries. If I were your boss, I'd fire you for ruining The brand, I have never been treated so poorly by a grocery store EVER. Shame on you Fred Meyer! I had no clue what this place was - but for some reason the name turned me off. I thought it may of been some kinda agriculture store ? While doing an overnight shopping trip, I realized I forgot my contact case & solution. Our hotel was located beside a Fred Meyer, and it was open late ( 1030 pm on a Sunday ) so we decided to check it out. It was massive inside ! Isles upon isles of groceries - some things I had never even heard of! They had a massive health food section ( including bulk foods, and both cold and dry goods ) as we picked up a few items, we noticed that they had boots - and nice ones ! A friendly sales associate, a young guy was extremely helpful. He not only answered our questions, but he also informed us that it was the last night of the Grand Re-opening sale! We were grateful because included in the sale was ladies clothing! Who knew that they even carried clothes ? Never mind the fact that they were stylish, sexy and on sale ! They even had nice change rooms. When I got there and found them locked, I just picked up the phone located in front of the area and was immediately connected to someone who came right over and unlocked it for me. I ended up getting a skirt, a dress and 2 shrug sweaters. My friend got a super sexy dress perfect for the holiday season ! I didn't get a chance to explore the housewares section or cosmetics - hell the store was closing and I still had not got my contact solution ! Lucky I quickly found it. Used the self check outs ( which of course are handy except for trying to use coupons and removal of security tags ! ) We were assisted and then on our way. Gas prices in Canada are more expensive than in the US. So if you are driving up from Seattle to Vancouver, I would recommend filling up before you cross the border. I would suggest doing this in Bellingham as it is the last "big" city on your way up. A convenient place to make a pit stop is at this Bellingham Fred Meyer. It is right off exit 253 on I-5 headed north. The gas prices here are one of the lowest in Bellingham. They have the usual three varieties of gas along with diesel. Plus you can stock up on snacks and drinks inside the store. If you need to make quick pit stop to fill up on gas and snacks, this Fred Meyer is a good place to do so. Primarily because the location is just off I-5. read more

Best Fred Meyer around. Have everything plus. Plenty of electric carts which I need since foot surgery. The only drawback is some cashiers. Nice enough, but my card doesn't always go through, or they're slow cuz they're new, or whatever since it seems they're all still new (like a lot of places) Prices, meats, deli, bakery & produce all taste great. Sign up for their card/app and get more deals. It's also nice to pick up other stuff for the house if needed like hardware, pillows, decor, house stuff. read more

I can't get over the deals!!! For example Annie's Homegrown Pasta. Here at home I would pay in excess of $3 a box. At Fred Meyers they were on sale for 10 for $10. Even after the exchange rate it's a great deal!!! In the yarn dept, the same yarn I get at home for $5 each is $2 each here. The best part is getting things one just cannot get here in Vancouver. Certain candies, chocolates, make up etc. Know your prices though. I notice the prices for fresh veggies and fruit are not competitive. Vancouver has better prices for these things. read more

Fred Meyer is the closest grocery store to our house so I end up going there a lot. It's hard to beat a place that has everything from groceries to paint to sporting goods (and everything in between)! That being said, their prices have gone up tremendously in the past year - so much so that I do most of my shopping at Winco now, just stopping in at Fred's when I need something quick, or if something I need is on sale. The new salsa and hummus bar is awesome, though, as is the gourmet cheese section. And the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Fred Meyer has started making these awesome (hello fresh esque) meal prep boxes that are so perfect for a bad day. I've only seen them at the bakerview location not the Lakeway one. Fresh good selection of produce. I would like more signage just because of how huge and popular this store is. The health/natural foods section can get a bit hairy too with a lack of direction and signage. The staff is very nice and they talk to me which I enjoy lol. The specific departments are wonderful Bakery Ben taught me I could get my avenue bread loaves sliced and it's the best thing since sliced bread. Alex in the meat department always tells us what we need (I'm clueless about cuts of meat) and then will clean our fish and such. Cheesus (Marcus, I believe he works in pharmacy now but Cheesus was a real one) was the best!!! He gave us cheese themed buttons and made great recommendations and taught us how to keep parmesean happy! These guys go way above and beyond Overall a great grocery store but definitely a bit of a trip. You have to be in the mood kind of similar to Costco in that way. read more
