Three major issues for me: 1. It's been about five times now that I've called in/gone in/used the app to refill a prescription and when I've gone to the pharmacy two hours later to pick up, the refill order was never placed. 2. I needed to have a prescription refilled early and because it's a controlled substance, I called in to get clarification on what the pharmacist needed in order to get the refill and he was extremely rude and hung up on me. 3. With the exception of Lorraine, who is an angel, the rest of the staff comes off as utterly incompetent or exceptionally rude. They techs and pharmacists clearly need to be reminded that they are an essential component of people accessing healthcare and that medication, for most people, is critical to their well-being. There's no excuse to be so dismissive and rude to people. read more

Total screw up with Medicare and ordering diabetic glucose test strips. Medicare says you are approved for a refill, Walgreens says they are waiting for insurance approval. We had several 3 way calls with Walgreens and Medicare. Medicare says fill it, Walgreens still says no insurance approval. How bad can it get to have access to a simple but cortically important product. Best to go somewhere else. read more

Walgreens does not care if you need your prescription on time or not. I have waited 10 days for one and 6 days for another mandatory prescription. They are always 2 to 4 days on any of my prescriptions, they even canceled a prescription and didn't have a reason, so I had to start the wait all over again. I am done, I'm going to another pharmacy. read more

This one has ok service but twice now I've come in during open hours to the pharmacy being closed. Drove 30min to get here for no one to be here. So frustrating!! read more

We arrived for our Covid booster appointments, made with a Walgreens phone representative (because the pharmacy told us it had to be done online or over the phone), snd were turned away because of our age. This was troublesome as we lived with an immune-compromised individual, again made clear during our phone conversation/reservation. The pharmacy staff lack in skills typically associated with good customer service - didn't make eye contact upon our arrival, spent time chit-chatting rather than helping those in line, refusing to honor our reservation, taking way too long to help the next in line, etc. read more

This Walgreens on Sunset is THE worst pharmacy I have ever used. They LIE that prescriptions are ready for pickup when only half are. I have spoken to the pharmacy supervisor twice to complain, she seemed concerned, told me to call the day prior or th day of pickup. I have, but SURPRISE, so sorry, so sad, you drove 40 minutes each way, you have to wait until we choose to fill them - in one case at nine at NIGHT. I have made arrangements to use a different pharmacy starting in November. I will not be lied to again. The store part is clean, tidy, well stocked, and laid out. The pharmacy is a disaster, and to boot, the folks can be RUDE. Never, never, never again. read more

There are a lot of one-star reviews on this site, left by people who clearly had a bad experience. I'd like to counter some of those. This review is about the pharmacy portion, not the retail. (Yelp doesn't let you split departments). The staff at this location routinely go above and beyond to help out with a situation -- they understand that the state of healthcare and insurance right now is tenuous, and they don't particularly seem to like gating people's access to required medications. In our case, a friend was visiting and needed some scripts transferred in from her home pharmacy in North Carolina. Insurance denied it, because it was only good in that state. Additionally, one of her refills had been filled (but not picked up) at her home pharmacy, 3000 miles away, and her local walgreens (NC) was refusing to release it, insisting she needed to ask her doctor for another script I told her: "You should have just called the Pharmacy on Sunset. They know how to cut through the BS". When we got to the counter, the pharmacy staff understood the problem, and just started pushing the refill through and cancelling the out-of-state one. When insurance denied the claim and we offered to just pay cash, the pharmacy staff jumped on it, even using multiple registers to check every discount code they knew of, to get things as affordable as they could for us. read more

Terrible service!!! Filled half the prescription then refused to fill the rest after we ran out. Still owing us half the prescription. ‍ phone call told us it would be ready , then refused to fill it when we arrived. Two days later and they still haven't filled it. Had to buy out of pocket enough for a day!!! read more

Wish I could leave a better review, but the extremely long pharmacy waits just seem excessive. Either in store or drive up. Any time I have picked up here no matter what time of the day it is at least a 20+ wait to pick up a prescription that has been ready for days. read more

Every Month running out of my mandatory medication, and no call to let me know, had to 86 this selfish place

As a leukemia patient ,I called ahead,passport photo hours are the same as store hours,I arrived at 7:00 AM when the store opened,mask on, The clerk sent me to an unstaffed photo counter and after waiting there 5 minutes ,I found the store manager and he said he was short staffed and told me to wait another 10 or 15 minutes or come back later,he did not explain to me what was more important than serving a customer and receiving payment,It just seems to me that paying customers should be top priority,considering I made arrangements! I'll get my medicine at Hoaglands and my photo elsewhere. and Walgreens can do the same for corporate profit, find paying customers elsewhere. read more

It is truly astounding to me how this business continues to legally operate. I am out of state and rely on my elderly parents' care assistant to pick up prescriptions. Accordingly, over the course of multiple days, she attempted to pick up a prescription THREE different times and continued to be told there was no card on file to be charged. She did not have the money to pay the $50 fee and thus, returned without it. When I learned of this and called, it was explained that there was indeed a credit card on file but that the insurance would not cover it so it was assumed we did not want the medicine and it was put back on the shelf. I then called again and spoke with Helen who was competent, professional and kind (thank you, Helen). I advised that we wished to obtain the prescription regardless of insurance coverage (this was an urgent script that regardless of cost, was necessary. Period.). Helen processed the payment (with the card on file - that had been on file the entire time). She even called me back to confirm the script was ready for pick-up. My parent's assistant then went to pick up the script via the drive through. She was told there was NO prescription. I then called and spoke to Lorraine who curtly explained to me that because payment had already been processed, the script was at the "pharmacist's station" and the drive through employee "did not know to look for scripts" there. My parents' care attendant returned and was AGAIN told that there was no prescription to be picked up. I AGAIN called and requested to speak to a manager. I was put on hold and eventually connected to a presumed manager, named Eric. When I explained my situation, Eric advised that he is not actually in the pharmacy and thus, is "not responsible for what goes on back there." Seriously? Way to take ownership! After 20 minutes of explaining, re-explaining AND explaining again as well as being put on hold multiple times, Eric finally was able to explain the "mystery" in that prescriptions are not usually paid for in advance and thus, the script was placed in a special location that no employee appeared to consider looking in when the attendant tried to pick it up. My parents' care attendant returned AGAIN and FINALLY received the pre-paid prescription. Unfortunately, this process took three days and for an elderly person, dealing with an urgent health condition, this is simply unacceptable. In addition to being terribly unprofessional and with questionable problem-solving skills, these employees' behavior is negligent. I am astounded that this is the best talent Bellingham has to offer. I have now commenced the process of moving all scripts to a local family-owned COMPETENT and CAPABLE Bellingham pharmacy. Money talks and Walgreens will get no more of my money or my time. Now I simply hope my elderly parent can successfully recover from the effects of this unacceptable delay in medication. read more

We have been picking up prescriptions here for over one year. In that time, we have found the service to be above average and the employees very helpful and professional. The staff appear trans friendly and answered my questions about Testosterone in a very respectful manner. I would highly recommend coming here and using their app to refill prescriptions. And having a drive up window is an added bonus, especially now. read more

Most of the employees are hardworking and dedicated. HOWEVER, they have lost four of my prescriptions. Twice they were found lying around the pharmacies in "the wrong pile." Two disaappeared under strange circumstances. I go to Samish Walgreens as often as possible, but they close on weekends and holidays, a strange strategy if they are trying to grow this newer store. read more

RACIST NIGHTTIME MANAGER. My mother used to frequent this store daily before going to work as a nurse. She has always enjoyed shopping here and was familiar/friendly with the staff. My mother is a sweet little Latino woman (this will have relevance to the story). One night she came in and was shopping around before she had to go to work. She was surrounded by many other people shopping, yet only she was approached by a young, Caucasian male worker in his late 20's-early 30's who proceeded to ask her if he could help her, she responded that she didn't need any help. The worker then proceeded to tell her that she had been there for "too long", my mother asked him if there was a time limit for shopping, he responded by saying again that she had been there for too long, he had been watching her in the camera and she had been there for 30 minutes. My mother laughed and walked away from him and continued her shopping. He continued watching her suspiciously and followed her. The next morning she came in and was greeted by the usual staff she was familiar with. She informed the female worker that she would no longer be able to visit this Walgreens and told her how disappointed she was about what happened the prior night. The female worker apologized and informed my mom that the male worker from the night before was the nighttime manager. Now, my mom is too nice of a lady to make a fuss or leave a lengthy review, but I sure as heck am not that nice. I am absolutely DISGUSTED and APPALLED by the abbhorrant behavior displayed my this RACIST nighttime manager, he does not deserve to have his job if he acosts his customers like this, especially the only Latino customer in the store. Furthermore, the female worker should have offered more than an apology, perhaps she could have provided corporate's phone number or the GM's contact info. DO NOT visit this location at night if you are Latino and plan to visit longer than 29 minutes. What a joke. read more

This pharmacy allows you to call your prescription refill in over the phone. A really easy user experience really. You agree on a time to pick up. The problem is half the time when I go, they never had the medication yet the system still allowed me to schedule a pick up same day. So we drive all the way to the pharmacy for nothing. It is so incredibly frustrating and I refuse to believe there isn't a better system for solving this problem. Seems like they are just too big and not patient focused. Some of their "associates" have the company policies so far up their a** that they can't even fathom some human decency. I quit smoking a while ago and get really bad anxiety attacks sometimes so I use nicotine lozenges. I am 35 years old. They would not sell them to me because I didn't have an ID on me. Are you kidding me?! Honestly, I look 35, no question. I lived hard for those wrinkles. No 17 year old would look anything like me. Such utter nonsense. I explained to the lady that I lived very far from town in the woods and can't come in for another 4 days and she didn't care at all. In fact, it was like I was talking to a robot, completely emotionless and devoid of empathy. You can suck it Sunset Walgreens. I'm going to continue to shop online... oh yeah, and by the way, they don't card me there! So I got my dad to pick them up because he was in town and he said he couldn't find them. They told him that "they hid them in the back in case I came back". What a bunch of a-holes. read more

After the experience I had today at the pharmacy I won't be back to this one. She was completely rude about my type of insurance and when I let her know I didn't mind paying out of pocket because I was in a hurry and it was a generic antibiotic. She then declined telling me free is better and rite Aid will help me. Rite Aid got my business instead. read more

An acquaintance from high school once characterized the Walgreens corporate mentality as "East Coast". I'm not sure if that is correct, but I take issue with holding timely delivery of prescriptions as BS. I recently overheard an employee explain to a patron that the wait was to 'give' them an opportunity to shop in the store. AS IF I wanted an opportunity to 'shop' after outpatient surgery. My wife made an additional trip back into town 1.5 hours later (the time quoted by pharmacist). If I could give a negative vote I would. Good by Walgreens, we'll vote with our feet. read more

Ive never left a yelp review but I had to say this. If you want your prescriptions on time, I suggest never going here. I called in to see if they had any persiptions for me a week ago. They said yes but they had to call the doctor for a renewal which would only take a day or so which was perfect because I go to college at WSU. I planned to pick it up right when I got into town for winter break. I came home and found out the prescription was denied because it was written by my pediatrician. I'm 19 for reference. I've been going to the same doctor for 2 years now. The thing that made me the most mad was they never called and let me know; they were sitting on a denied refill request for a week and didn't say anything. I will honestly never be coming back here! Just because of their complete and utter lack of customer service. It really seems like they do not care in the slightest about their customers. I am now 2 days late taking this prescription because they didn't feel like my well being was important enough to take 30 seconds to call me and see what was going on. read more

I think this is a pretty good place for a Walgreen. I have always found the employees to be helpful and nice. They are unfortunately a "destination location" for panhandlers in the Sunset area and you may run into some of these fine folks both inside and outside the store. When I was there the other day a cigarette-smoke-drenched druggie tried to push her way into line to get some of her panhandling money changed into larger bills. Not a big fan of this pharmacy. I haven't used the drive-thru, but the wait time inside can be insanely long due to disorganization and ineptitude; the air of "get out of my face" by the staff is stifling when they're busy. I understand not liking the general public when one is stressed, however, a modicum of pleasant customer service when working a customer service-intensive job shouldn't be too much to ask. read more

When moving to the area I chose to go with Walgreens over Rite Aid because Walgreens was open 24 hours and had a drive-thru service. I used to order my medications online with them, but they were never ready when they said they would be or were never ordered. The staff told me the computer system had a lot of glitches. I decided everytime I ordered online I would follow it up with a phone call. The past 5 months I have come in a day or two after the date they were to be ready by, and 2 of those times they still weren't ready, and the other 3 they said they were never even ordered. I assumed if I spoke to someone on the phone that they would be ordered. Did I mention I am on 13 medications? Obviously they don't make their money on prescriptions, because they'd be working harder to keep my business. read more
