I expected my daughter to get the professional attention she deserves. However, the teachers worked with students that have been there for a long time. Over all the ballet techniques are not up to par. The recitals are on Memorial Day Weekend which is not cool. The parking is horrific. If you decide to park on Lake Ave be very careful as there are many blind spots. There floors are not good for jumps or leaps and can hurt the kids. She has since joined a new Studio where she was welcome with opened arms. The teachers are incredible with taking the time to actually teach a new student and the other students were excited to help. Remember it's not about the finances or politics it's about your child enjoying and learning at the same time. We found our home. Signed, Relieved to be gone !!!!!

I like this studio better than the one in St James. Besides being closer to where we live, parking…read moreis not as big a problem. My daughter has been coming to this studio for several years now. They offer a variety of dance programs...and the year ending recital, held at the Patchogue Theater, is very well produced. The classes here tend to be smaller in size compared to the ones over at their other studio in St James. I can only guess, that is due to the greater number of dance schools in the Smithtown area. There are two class rooms, both with one directional glass, so parents can peek in and watch their children without being a distraction. The waiting area is not particularly large and can get a bit crowded, especially around the time classes end and another is about to begin. Another nicety of this location is it's proximity to several food establishments. There is a deli, pizza, chinese food. Quite often my wife will pick up a pizza for dinner on her way back there.

As a mother of a 6-week-old infant, I was told I could not bring a milk bottle into the auditorium to feed my newborn during the performance. Because I am not breastfeeding, I was forced to either miss the show I paid for or let my baby go hungry -- all because of a rigid, outdated policy that values the "rules" of an auditorium more than the basic human needs of an infant. When I tried to explain the situation, I was met with shocking disrespect. Ms. Sally and Mr. Kevin, the owners of KP Dance, told me that it wasn't their problem that my baby wasn't on a strict feeding routine (as if that's even realistic at 6 weeks old). To make matters worse, they were overheard telling another parent that people who can't manage this are simply "lazy." Let that sink in: A business that markets itself to families with children is actively shaming and excluding parents of infants -- especially those who bottle feed -- and calling them lazy for not having newborns on a rigid schedule. Mr. Romano and Frank Pignatta enforced the policy with zero empathy, zero flexibility, and zero respect for the realities of parenting. The entire ordeal made it painfully clear that KP Dance cares more about controlling their environment than supporting the families who keep their business running. No parent should ever be forced to choose between feeding their baby and watching their child perform. And no parent deserves to be treated with the level of disrespect and cruelty that I -- and others -- experienced here. I will not be returning, and I strongly caution any other families -- especially those with young children -- to reconsider supporting an establishment that sees babies' needs as a "disruption" and dismisses mothers with such callous disregard.

My daughter has grown so much as a dancer this year because of the wonderful teachers. This is my daughter's second year on the competition team and the girls have grown into the best of friends, and the moms too. We were at the recital and all of the kids did a wonderful job. This was our 4th recital with KP and look forward to dancing our way into 2026 with our KP Family!
