Being that the studio was 20 minutes from my house I was hesitant to make the commitment. We decided to try it out for the year and see how it went... Now, 9 years later, I have to say it was the BEST decision I've ever made for my daughter. My daughter has learned so much more than just how to dance. She has learned about hard work, commitment, setting goals and doing what it takes to reach them. The receptionist was friendly as well. This location is tucked a way into a strip mall. We were taught a few things in the 45 minutes we had. To join for a membership was more expensive than I'd ever imagine. But if you love dance that much, you'll be willing to pay. Thankfully they knew better than to follow up with us after our "we'll think about it" line.

LIAD is a beautiful dance studio that was recently renovated. It has several rooms with dance floors designed for the safety and care of dancers' bodies, a reception area with a welcoming Receptionist & changing room . There is a variety of classes and the teachers are kind and super qualified. The teachers here have always kept my daughter's best interest in mind and make every single class both fun and challenging for her.

Left early from work to catch part of my daughters ballet class. She has been going to the Chorus…read moreLine studio in Smithtown for years, but the ballet class at this location sit the schedule. The parking area for this location is smaller than the Smithtown location and on days where they have observation performance I can see it become very chaotic very quick. This was a regular lesson night and I was lucky enough to get the last open spot. The lobby is very narrow, with seats lining the walls for parents to wait for their children to finish class. The classes are held in two rooms, one on the 1st floor and another larger room upstairs. The room downstairs has a small window where curious parents can peek in watch their child dance. The room upstairs has a video camera set up and the lesson is displayed on a large flat screen TV in the lobby. My wife usually takes her to class...so I don't usually get to see what it's like...but it was mad house. My advice...sit in your car and wait.

My daughter felt judged there, she would do a leap and the other girls would look at her weirdly and stare at her. My daughter then went somewhere else and loved it! The recital is way too long and the prep and nonsense for the recital is ridiculous they expect me to pull my daughter out of school so I could bring her to the dress rehearsal. They are way too expensive and I have to work extra hours to pay for one dance class! As the only parent in the house hold it was not my favorite place either. So happy we switched!

I wish it was closer to me, I'd come more often. I love that you can book a class on Mind Body app. They offer a ton of other dance classes as well. I also tried a beginner hip hop class which was equally great. Cardio dance is another fun class. Definitely one of my favorites for sure.

My personal trainer also encouraged me to increase my physical activity outside of our sessions.I decided I would take a leap of faith and with luck I found this place. I called and they were able to squeeze me in the middle of the semester. I take private lessons with Christine and she's awesome. I've also had the pleasure of taking lessons with Damiano and Nick who are amazing as well. For me it's more for physical activity not really for competing , but it sure is fun learning. I…read morehave little interest in tennis; my primary motivation was a social fitness activity that was competitive. Compared to golf or bowling, tennis was the best fit! I subsequently took lessons with a pro there, named Damiano. He is a true professional, who is devoted to his work, and also an excellent tennis instructor. Overall, the place is run quite well. The folks are very organized with scheduling and keeping appointments, and very flexible when you need to change an appointment. The new owner, Spencer, spent a small fortune refurbishing the facilities and its reflected in all aspects of the operation. Unfortunately, due to a new job, I could not proceed with joining a league which is a real bummer. But it's my hope to do so, somehow, in the future.
