So Magda really whipped my brows into shape, I never thought my brows could look so good. Being a victim of the 90's over plucked thing rainbow brows I now have brows I can be proud of and make very little effort to make them look awesome, which cuts my makeup routine down immensely! I told her I was trying to grow them in and I wanted brows like Megan Fox. I had them tinted black which was exactly what I wanted to look fierce and match my hair, she didn't take too much off and she gave me the best arch my sad brows have ever seen. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. I'm a dedicated customer of Anya's. I've been coming here ever since I discovered it about 1.5 years ago. I think any place that deals with your body parts (particularly your privates) should be managed like a doctor's office: you should feel the place is pleasant, clean, and using the latest tools and equipment. Freckle does all of that. Front desk ladies are always nice, Anya makes your waxing experience as quick and painless as possible while having a very warm and cheery attitude. On top of that, very reasonably priced, and I do get great manicures there! Cannot recommend enough. I will be so sad if I ever had to move out of NYC! read more

Had to leave a review as I'm on day five of my regular non-gel manicure, and my nails still look flawless (I attached a photo separately). The technician was great, recommending the Vinylux polish because it would last longer, the place took me in right away without an appointment, and it was just generally a wonderful, detailed, and relaxing manicure. Anya is amazing! I went to freckle for a Brazilian and an eyebrow wax. While the eyebrow wax was okay the Brazilian was great...of course it hurt like hell, probably the worst pain I ever felt in my life but that's a given seeing as I have thick, coarse hair down there (nothing like the hair on my head :((() Anya was friendly and coached me through it. She was quick, a little too quick, sometimes I wished I had a few moments for a breather but nonetheless the entire process lasted about 10-15 mins (I have a lot of hair and this was my first time in years) She got all the hair and even offered to tweeze a few strays but I declined, I reached my pain limit for the day. I love this place. I tend to get a little tweezer happy in between eyebrow waxing, but, thanks to Ania's skills of giving me a great eyebrow shape, I have finally (almost) stopped my own tweezing and just put all of my faith in her. She takes time to gently wax and show me where my line should be and thanks to her, I have great eyebrows! I tend to walk in, or, make an appointment day of, and availability has always worked out for my schedule. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and other staff members seem nice as well. The waxes are executed very fast and efficient but there is not quite as much privacy as I would like (the wall of the waxing room doesn't reach the ceiling). It was incredibly peaceful inside unlike some other large nail places on Manhattan ave that always seem to have too much going on. It was nice and quiet and a great place to relax for a bit. Great place. A new salon to Nassau Avenue, but they scored quite a get in Dorota, who has been one of the most popular hair stylists in Greenpoint for years, now. I've been getting my hair cut by her for a long time, and have followed her to whichever salon she's working at. Very highly recommend you get your hair done by her, if you haven't yet. The salon itself is very nice. It's new, which already puts it way ahead of the others in the clean/looks department. It's modern and cozy, with Beatles lyrics on the walls. I'm a guy, so all I need is a hair cut, but for women, they have quite a selection of services - including professionally done facials, nails, and waxing. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly - always laughing. You definitely feel like you're a friend here, which is different than a lot of the salons where they do their work and push you out. As someone who hasn't yet adjusted to the outrageous prices spas in NYC charge for bikini waxes, I've been using Groupons to go from salon to salon. However, during a recent Yelp search I found Freckle and saw that their prices are very reasonable, so decided to give it a shot. I was very pleased with my experience here. The woman who did my bikini wax (Anya? I'm not sure) was an absolute doll- very friendly and made me feel very at ease. It was also one of the quickest, least painful waxes I've ever had done. Places that use hard wax are sometimes difficult to find. Great places that use hard wax are even fewer are farther between. I'm pleased to say the hard wax specialist at Freckle is great at her job. I just got a Brazilian this morning, and the wax was fast (I was in and out in less than 20 minutes) and efficient. She even gave me some tips on how to prevent ingrown hairs. Freckle is the best. I've been coming here since it opened, and not only are the prices amazing for the quality of service, but everything is so high quality! I love the owner Ania, and she always makes me feel so welcome and pays close attention to ensure everyone gets a great experience. They have a great selection of polish brands and colors, and I especially love that they offer CDC vinyl series for NO extra cost! Every other salon I've been to always charge over $5 for this, so this is impressive. Not to mention how well priced her spa pedicures are as well, $35 bucks for a really decadent 30-35 minutes whereas other similar salons will run you well over $50.
