I must be getting soft on Katy because I had 4 star experience at this place. These small chains have to give excellent service to deal with the big chains, and this place was definitely up to the challenge. I must state that the closer you get to closing time, noon, the fewer options you will have. They have some of the better apple fritters that I have tasted in Houston, but unfortunately, many people seemingly know about this place because options are limited close to closing time. There are not many signature items for this place, but they do have a lot of low priced breakfast options outside of donuts. The sausage and chorizo breakfast burrito is quite yummy. There are various breakfast sandwiches on a variety of breads, and of course kolaches. Because I was so undecided about the type of donuts I wanted, the worker even gave me an extra one so I can taste another flavor from them. This was after patiently waiting for me to decide on what I wanted, after their closing time of noon! Since my family sent me their in the first place, I already know that I will have to be their often to pick up various goods. Stopped by yesterday for 2 drinks, 2 croissants, 2 donuts for $12.. was charged for chocolate donut which was not received. The croissants were old, didn't taste well! Even after warming them up they were hard. I took one bite and spit it out. My son didn't like it either. His donut was ok.. read more

My family stopped at this location before heading to the local state park today. A box of Kolache, donut, and donut hole made the day for the kids as our energy and spirit booster! The small donut hole is my favorite, I ate 5 in a row. It reminds me the Timbits in Canada. New owner and management are up to speed to provide personalized service. Went here today around 11ish (i know kind of late for some donuts since they close at 12) but anyways, only reason i went was cuz it was a drive-thru well that was pointless i couldnt figure out how to even use the drive-thru because there was no indication how strike one, strike two was the donuts themselves i got one chocolate, one sugar, and one glazed all of which LOOKED great the lady even threw in some donut holes for me which i thought was nice. I get home not even 5 mins from this place and take a bite of the sugar donut... it was gross... not fluffy like most donuts are with some dough at least it was like it was filled with air and a small bit of dough absolutely not good at all!! And same for the chocolate but this was worse cuz the glaze fell off in one bite that doesnt usually happen with well made donuts. I didnt even attempted to eat the last one cuz i knew it was just going to be more of the same i had already had!! The only reason there is a star is cuz of the donut holes those were actually the only good thing i got. Just sad i hope their recipe improves somehow cuz what they are serving now just isnt going to make it!! read more

I stopped by this place for a coffee and kolache, but I was pleasantly surprised to get a lot more than I bargained for. The owner is a very friendly Vietnamese man and he will offer to warm up your kolache for you. There are plenty of cold drink options ranging from milk to juice to sodas. I got a frosted donut too and it was delicious! The only thing that would make this local donut shop better is if they put Vietnamese coffee on the menu! read more

Went in a couple days ago because our usual shop is closed and omg so glad that we did Not sure what the new owners are doing but the kolache s were fantastic and the doughnuts were like soft sweet pillows of air simply nirvana read more

I just moved out here and this has become my "go-to" place for donuts. Donuts are always fresh and the service is excellent. In fact, the gentlemen that is there each morning always greets me with a smile and gives me a little more than I ask for because they are for my children. Additionally, if you like old-fashioned donuts, you won't be able to find anywhere that makes them better than Franz Donuts. The donuts did not even look appealing but I was heading to work and didn't want to make another stop. Should have been my first indication. My dozen donuts all tasted sour and like garlic. Cross contaminated with bagel makings I assume. Do not go here, too many other great options around. read more

Family owned business. Always smiling and friendly! Our morning stops are always made quick and cost only a few bucks.

The service is so good , the man who runs the place is nice. I come here all the time , and the donuts are great ! Only downside is they sometimes run out of options even at 7 in the morning . And sometimes the workers don't understand you when you ask for something . read more
