Oh my my ,oh hell yes, Tillamook cheese, is the very best!!!…read more The name "Tillamook" is derived from the Chinook language. It primarily translates to "people of Nekelim" (or Nehalem), referring to a prominent Native American tribe that lived on the Oregon coast. I grew up on the mysterious mystic Oregon coast, and know much of its history, and good eats. Tillamook Creamery Coop started in 1909 is world class in my mind! And boy, has it grown an expanded! You can, order online, I do sometimes for their Jerky's. Their ice cream is killer, flavored cream cheese to die for, and what an array of excellent excellent cheeses. Now I get here in the South ( most stores), comfort food! To make my creamy hot macaroni with burnt ends! In the 60's we'd drive the 40 miles for the best cheese, shop the store, and watch them making the cheese, way fun! Still stop in when visiting, great memories, killer products. And again you can get in most stores!!! Gotta try

Full disclosure: I do not favor corporate-like dairy companies. However they may have started out,…read morethat's what I consider them now. I'm not a fan of cows in cages as they are being milked, or baby cows being taken from their moms, so to me, there was a lot of "propoganda" in here, such as the "cute" baby cow model in a house (cage) that you could practice feeding with the bottle. Also a chance to practice milking a cow which was admittedly hilarious to watch (I did not try). It is, though, a must stop that no tour of the area is complete without. And yes, the cheese and ice cream are good. You can pick a guided tour for a price (very long line) or you can just go up the stairs and look down at the factory through the windows. Lines everywhere - this place is VERY popular. Huge store, after a recent renovation, tons of seating for the cafe and ice cream, and even so, very crowded with minimal empty spaces. You can stand in line for ice cream or get something cheezy from the cafe: pizza, grilled cheese. Best food: the cheese curds. Best drink: the peach lemonade with fruit bits. Expensive merch. Way too expensive.

My Petite Sweet, opens at 8 am so you don't have to wake up at the crack- of -dawn afraid of them selling out of items you want vs. sleeping in on your vacation. They close at 3pm so you have time on the way home from whatever day's activities you were doing, to pick up some dessert for an after dinner treat. My Petite Sweet is a great stop for quick, sweet or savory ready-to-eat breakfast items. The employees will ask you if you want your items warmed up and are more than happy to do that for you. There are several tables and chairs available if you wish to enjoy your items on-site... ...but THIS is where My Petite Sweet SHINES ABSOLUTELY ABOVE-THE-REST: Upon entering, you will be greeted by a HUMONGOUS refrigerated case that is remeniscent to me of the magic and excitement I felt as a child imagining finding the "Golden Ticket" and touring "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! " My Petite Sweet has an ENDLESS array of YUMMY confectionery so tempting you just want to tell the employee, "I'll take one of everything," because it's so hard to choose. Most of My Petite Sweet's items are little masterpieces so beautifully decorated you hate to ruin them by biting into them! Once you do, however, you experience the taste of something so INCREDIBLY SCRUMPTIOUS you will ALWAYS make this your first stop when you arrive in Lincoln City, or perhaps even making My Petit Sweet your reason for traveling to LC in the first place! I'm glad I live 90 min away or I would be here every day to try something new. Of the many items I've tried, I have enjoyed each one! On each trip I discover a new favorite (or two, or three! ) My Petite Sweet's portions are huge, the prices are reasonable, and the employees are friendly and helpful. Also, don't be afraid to stock up on your trip. The employees pack the items individually, and they stay very fresh in the fridge. ENJOY!

The earthquake cake was fabulous; it was not a soft cake, it was very dense and full of rich chocolate, cream cheese and chocolate chips . It was extremely filling. The two women who helped us were very polite and very patient as we took forever to choose from their delicious options. They had a massive selection of treats. A true sweet-treat paradise. The ambiance reminds me of the old candy shops I would go to on the Oregon coast, which brought back fond memories. It would be helpful if, instead of a large sign that said 'bakery,' it had the business name. Nonetheless, this place was great, and we will definitely be back.
