Sea Level Bakery was a tough choice. Really! Right across the street from our cozy resort hotel room, we actually plan to start our day waiting to get in. The coffee is exceptional, and I'm not risking much by saying it's the best in Cannon Beach. We both are kouign amann aficionados, and theirs rivals our favorites from Left Bank Pasteries in Olympia, WA. What a way to start your day: kouign amann and excellent coffee! The scones looked amazing, too. (What would Emily Post have to say about having two baked confections for breakfast? Who cares what she'd have to say...?) This is a terrible place for a diet, except that there's miles of beach to walk -- which I guess makes Sea Level Bakery an excellent place for a diet! And exercise, too, of course. Excellent service. We were recommended Sea Level Bakery by a friend and decided to give it a try. It was at a driving distance from where we were staying in the center of Canon Beach. While we enjoyed the drive, it wouldn't be convenient for everyday based on where we were statying. There was also a long line when we got there. We took us a good 30 mins to get to the counter. I came to Sea Level twice while visiting Cannon beach with my family and would recommend it! The first time was around 10am and there was a long-ish line out the door, it took maybe 20 min to get to the front and order. The second time we came a bit later around noon and there was no line at all! I'm guessing most people come for their morning coffee and/or breakfast and not so much for lunch? I got the vanilla matcha and enjoyed it enough to get it both times. I find it rare for a coffee shop to do their matcha well - it's usually too milky and barely any matcha, but it was good here! I'm glad I took the risk to try it. We tried a variety of food too - acai bowl, cookies, pastries and sandwiches and thought everything was pretty good! I'm guessing you can't really go wrong here? If you need more convincing to check out Sea Level, we chatted briefly with a local and he said this is the best coffee shop in town. This was a cute coffee shop with decent food near our hotel. Staff were friendly enough and coffee was good. I did enjoy their menu items and it's very clean and modern inside with a lovely bathroom, some seating inside and a nice patio. The quiche was OK but wasn't super warm and wasn't especially savory or the best I've had. The Brie and apricot sandwich was OK but wouldn't get again. The açaí was the star of the show with loads of fresh veggie and only $7 bc they offer a full size and a mini. Not the best but certainly not the worst. This spot was so relaxing and calm. The baristas and servers were so kind and welcoming. The food OMG delicious! We ordered the açaí bowl, salami sandwich, and sticky bun - all we impeccable! Another year to the coast, another visit to Sea Level. Boy, this place has been found by the masses - it was crowded. Line wrapped around the inside of the cafe out onto the patio. We got a couple americanos that were really good and my kids split a mango coconut drink that they like. I do miss the former, quaint shop that was just a small cottage with a fireplace, though it certainly has outgrown what it used to be. It's still a great place with tasty drinks and foods so I'll be back again next year. read more

The pastries here are French and amazing - flaky, buttery and yummy! They also sell loaves of delicious bread which are available in some local stores as well. The coffee is good and they make their own syrups. My favorite- Maple Bourbon! They're located in Tolovana Park area. read more

A small but upscale (Portland like) coffeehouse that is friendly but a wee bit pretentious compared to other coffee spots in Cannon Beach. Great coffee and homemade pastries. They are also open on Mondays which is so needed in Cannon Beach because it seems like all the other coffee shops are closed. They also have fresh bread and quiche. I wish they did offer a breakfast sandwich, the closest they have would be a jamon and Brie, which looked delicious. We had the quiche and pain au chocolate, both were excellent. They have limited seating inside, but a nice outdoor area with heaters. They do get pretty busy, so get there early! read more

Love this coffee shop. In fact it is probably the most impressive establishment in Cannon Beach in terms of high quality products and service. The espresso drinks are SO delicious here. There were long lines both of the days we went to Sea Level, and despite the crowd, the service was so effective. The barista was like a machine, just didn't stop! First food I had in Oregon and it was incredible. My family and I shared the banana bread, blueberry scone, and sticky bun and they were all so fresh and delicious! The banana bread was literally the best I've ever had. The interior of the bakery is adorable and romantic and the staff were so friendly and made us all laugh. We were looking forward to trying this spot after all the reviews. Unfortunately the iced maple bourbon latte was completely undrinkable. It had chunks of what I assume were gritty syrup throughout the entire drink which was super unpleasant coming up a straw. The açaí bowl had lots of fruit and was good. The toast was good but very light on jam. It seemed like they had a lot more pastries than were in the display case. If we had known they had some of those we probably would have tried them. read more

I asked them to remake my matcha and they made comments like "well we put the normal amount in there..." and didn't switch out and just added more matcha. Amazing bakery and brunch spot! Both the granola bowl and acai bowl is really fabulous and full of fresh fruit. All of the pastries we had were great, particularly the jam biscuit. They also have a remarkably special and high-quality selection of tea from Song Tea in SF, one of our very favorite places, and a nice selection of chocolate from Portland chocolatier, Woodblock. Stopped in twice while on vacation a few weeks ago and absolutely adored each encounter. The staff were incredibly friendly both times, my London fogs I ordered were absolutely lovely. They don't use a traditional black tea, they use a different tea (I'm so sorry, I forgot the name) and it worked perfectly. The sandwich I got as well was delicious (Jambon et Brie). Got a latte 16oz quad shot latte which was very good. Greatly appreciate that there are alternatives to Starbucks roasted beans in the area. Also bought a 16oz quad shot maple bourbon latte, asked for it to have just a little syrup. It came out so sweet I couldn't taste the coffee, and when brought to the counter was told it was too expensive to be remade and was offered some steamed milk to add to it. Flavor of the *coffee is great, atmosphere is very nice, customer service is left wanting. Staff is friendly, and they keep the line moving, pumping out well made espresso, coffee, and Matchas. I've tried their matcha latte, their espresso, their baguettes, their 3 cheese biscuit (with yummy chives) their apple croissant thingy, a fresh berry danish, and some cookies. They also have a good selection of juices and smoothies as well as some made to order bowls and other food items. Love this place. I went there every single day I was in town, and every single day the drinks were perfectly made, and tasted great. Excellent coffee - my partner and I both got the lavender rosemary latte with oat milk. The flavors are divine, the coffee is nice and smooth and just gorgeous overall. The cafe itself is suuuuch a cute vibe!! There was a line but it moved fast. The food looked so incredible but we'd already had breakfast so we'll have to try it next time we're in the area.
