A star for the DJ and music in the dance room! And the bartenders are nice. The rest of the staff were so disrespectful. I had friends from New York and Oklahoma visiting and tried showing them some cool bars Philly had to offer. There was a bar back/ table cleaner (?) organizing and picking up glasses who made a comment to me (as I was leaning on the back of a chair and my friends were dancing), "Get your ass off my chair or I'll have you thrown out. If you want to sit you can sit properly." Then ran away and went down the stairs. Another staff member by the bathrooms was continually yelling at people almost to the point of harassment or bullying. We were a group of 6 and all paid 10$ per person to enter this place, bought drinks, and were just enjoying the vibe. A huge disappointment and embarrassment. This was a really lovely bar! And it was more than just a bar. It was kind of like a gay bar complex with multiple different events and vibes. We were offered like chill bar vibes, spooky dj, lesbian comedy, or werewolf drag show because all were available that night. We went with werewolf drag (obvs) which did have a cover and there was definitely an ok drag show but it was werewolf deficient unfortunately. Then we grabbed some food and more drinks, which were great and heard and saw spooky dj setting up, which was our cue to leave as we had early flights and meetings the next day. Overall we had a pretty fantastic time and the service was above and beyond and the vibes were really great (though I and still bummed they didn't involve more werewolves). My girlfriends and I have taken to quarterly dance nights when we have something to celebrate or just feel like having a fun night out, and Franky Bradley's is the best of the best. Tons of different dance floors to enjoy, great drinks, fun bar staff, and the best vibes. There's typically a $10 cover but we've actually somehow avoided paying that when we've arrived for drinks in the main area before 9pm. They often also have drag shows, cabarets and other offerings all throughout the year. It's a truly massive space so go pick of the vibe of each room before deciding where you want to spend the bulk of your time. Come here for happy hour and get their burger, fries and mac & cheese - truly the best advice i can give bc you get the best bang for your buck. My friend and i shared and i think altogether it came out to be $20. The burger was juicy, the fries were well seasoned, and the mac & cheese were ooey-gooey and covered in baked breadcrumbs (my fav!). I love the aesthetics inside and whoever mans the aux always does a gr8 job. I haven't been here for any of their events but once we tried going in for a friends birthday on a friday night and the cover was ridonkulous. New city, new places. This was my first time in Philly and my friends decided to visit Franky Bradley's. Honestly the whole environment was gorgeous. The decorations and attention to details this place has is so much fun. This place has stairs everywhere that lead you to different rooms, or at least for me felt like a maze lol. The drinks were VERY fierce and the music was all the way up. Unfortunately didn't get to try the food this time but definitely will be of my top priorities on my next visit. Go down an alley and then another alley and head on in. It was a Friday night, 10 bucks cover charge. We grabbed a drink at the main bar. Dark, loud, and a good mix of clientele. My SIL saw an upstairs sign and we went to check that out to find the dance floor. Pretty sure we were the oldest ones up there but it was a ton of fun. Buying drinks with a credit card and they add 20% tip, per all the signs we saw. They had high noons not in sight but they do carry them (white claws give me a headache). There were open seats at the bar and tables around the room. Judging by the traffic of people coming in, this restaurant and bar was very popular with multiple rooms and bars to provide an experience for just about everyone. My girlfriend and I were in Philadelphia for a short weekend and had the ambition to go dancing for the night. It was 9:30pm and I had just woken up from a nap (induced by 2 margaritas earlier in the day). While my body at first was hesitant to get out of bed, I can 100% say this bar was absolutely worth it. Not being from Philadelphia, I was foolish to ask the bouncer if there was even dancing inside - because I didn't want to pay the $10 cover if there wasn't. She subtly nodded and told me that yes, indeed - there were 7 different dance floors. In reality this woman should've slapped me across the face for asking such a foolish question. It was 10 o'clock on a Saturday and that place was bumping. Not only that but there were lotssss of music options to choose from. Wow! I came here with my wife when we needed to grab a bite after getting to our hotel for pax unplugged. The staff here was super nice and friendly. We were greeted when we walked in and two different staff offered to help us fairly quickly. They where very busy when we walked in but it was a short wait for a seat and we sat down by the bar. The decor in this place was really great, but likely not for the faint of heart, there were some risque art on the walls which I found to be completely fine. But I can see some people may having issue with it. That night there was also Burlesque show upstairs that if we weren't exhausted from getting in we may have stopped by, but just so people know the atmosphere that is here. We ordered the burger and the chicken sandwich, and then for an appetizer order nachos and mac and cheese. All of the food was really good I really liked the nachos, as well as the Mac. Which happened to be my folly, because I was barely able to eat any of my cheeseburger. At that point I knew I was not going to be able to eat it so I let my wife know as we thought the chicken sandwich would reheat well and we save the chicken sandwich for a dinner the next night and just focused on some of the nachos and saved enough mac and cheese to take home as well. Needless to say if you were coming here I would only order the nachos or the mac and cheese if you are also ordering sandwiches because it is a lot of food for two people. We also had some beers and they had a pretty decent selection and we like the stuff they had on tap. And for what it's worth the next day when we reheated the chicken sandwich it was still very delicious, I could only imagine fresh it was even better. If you're in the area and want a place for some decent food at in my opinion a very affordable price you could definitely stop here. read more

I love Franky Bradley's. Probably one of my favorite spots in all of Center City. I first came here several years ago for a burlesque show and have been returning ever since. I've seen multiple drag and burlesque shows upstairs which are always a blast. The happy hour here can't be beat either. Their $5 burger is excellent and they make a solid Aperol spritz, which is my go to here. The real show stopper here though is food, especially the Franky's Fries and the smoked wings. Two of the better bar dishes you will find in Philly. Next time you are out and about in Center City, give it a try. read more

Rooms abound, there are two new DJ rooms, and the ambience is upscale and fun! It feels like they now have something for everyone and you don't have to wait at one or two bars to grab a drink. read more

Pretty standard in the following ways: A decent beer selection, the cocktails are ok, not bad but not the best you've ever had in life...I'd say the food is better than their cocktails (regular American bar fare). I'd say this place shines in that the bar tenders are extremely friendly and attentive and the place is well staffed (you know when it's a busy night, everyone is crowded around the bar but then there's only one sullen bar tender who makes a face every time you order something more complex than a vodka tonic). Also the decor is great. There's interesting and kitschy knick knacks and paintings and everything is cast in a sexy red light. A nice chill vibe for a gathering of friends or a date. There is a $5 cover if you're not coming to dine...considering ive seen places of the same quality/vibe for $10 or $20 cover, I'm ok with this. If you want some dancing, check out the upstairs. Franky Bradley's has stood at the intersection of two tiny streets in Center City Philadelphia - maybe tiny lanes is more appropriate as they might be too small to be called streets - since 1933. The ownership has changed in that time but from what I understand the fun spirit of the place has always remained. I like Franky Bradley's .... but almost everyone seems to like Franky Bradley's. There's some good food and drink here. One item I recommend never missing are the South Philly pierogies. They are filled with pork, spinach, & provolone and served with long hots. Totally tasty! My friend really liked his French onion soup as well. We followed that up with our mains which were a flaky cod fish and chips and a delicious vegan Shepherd's Pie using the amazing Impossible Burger as the meat inside the mashed potatoes. No complaints on anything including the super friendly service. I think there are many more decades ahead for this not easy-to-find classic in the heart of Philly! read more

FYI review is based on a restaurant week dinner. To be honest, we ended up here because of lack of planning and not being able to get a Saturday night reservation elsewhere. But it ended up being a fun, stress free dining experience! We got two of the restaurant week menu and the burger on their regular menu to share between three people and it was more than enough food (ie way too much!). Favorites were the perogies (loved the filling but they're massive so would definitely recommend sharing) and the filet (perfectly cooked to medium rare). The dessert paired really well together though I preferred the lemon berry panna cotta over the brownie sundae after a heavy meal. We found the tomato bisque to be way too salty and the arancini wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. It definitely feels like a bar, dimly lit with an quaint old timey feel. So it was a little weird to have a full dinner here at 6pm...wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a first date. I'm sure it's a totally different vibe later at night so will have to come back to check that out. read more

Franky Bradley's was such a pleasant surprise. As a first time Philly visitor (and a 24 year old woman), my mother was horrified that I wished to venture out into the city night to find a sweet, fun little spot to park myself at. She will be relieved to learn that Franky Bradley's is a small, well-staffed joint offering a generous selection of drinks at a reasonable price. My gin and tonic(s) were perfectly mixed by a wonderful and attentive bartender with an adorbs lil man-bun. I felt entirely comfortable at the bar alone, and I appreciated the professional yet authentic energy of the bartenders. I arrived around 9:30pm, and by 10:30pm the bar area had begun to collect the lively and cheerful night crowd. There is a dance floor on the second floor if you're in the dancing mood, but I preferred to catch up with a college friend at one of the cozy booths where you are welcome to enjoy just drinks, or take a peek at the tasty food menu as well. As a Philly visitor, I would certainly and happily return. read more

We had the salmon & the chicken parmigiana. The salmon was good- smaller portion than we would like but the chicken Parm was a pretty decent size. Also recommend the beet Salad. Updating my review from 4 stars to 5! Why? Because I came back a 3rd time and finally ate the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. This place has it all.. Amazing food, crafty cocktails, unique decor, and totally awesome staff. The beet salad blew our minds away. The goat cheese mix on the beets was perfect and so was some kind of yogurt sauce. We pretty much licked the bowl clean. The Mac n cheese was some of the cheesiest Mac I've ever eaten.. And the brisket and tomatoes mixed in was a nice touch. Bravo chef! The beef tar Tare looked funny, but tasted phenomenal. Perfect!!! I can't wait to eat more from here, everything was so delicious. Our waitress was kickass, totally cool and related with us on conversation. She even recommended some good drinks not on the menu. The upstairs is open now.. Just spent a very pleasant evening here with a group of friends. We had walked through a bit of snow to get here, but it was completely worth it. It was not too crowded when we arrived, so we had our pick of seats at the bar. The ambiance is distinctive - a touch of classy accented by dark wood, upholstery, and statues, but also a bit of quaint and ironic, with its almost random collection of kitschy wall decorations, not limited to coats of arms, deer antlers, and paintings of scantily clad women. The "Happiest of Hours" deals included $3 drafts, $6 wine glasses, $6 select drinks, and $7 appetizers. We tried the pan-seared chicken livers, which were nicely paired with seared grits and a sweet pepper jelly sauce. We also stayed for dinner. My party ended up having the burger, the chicken parm sandwich, the steamed middle neck clams, along with a couple more rounds of beer and cocktails. Everyone seemed to enjoy their selections, though I was a bit disappointed to find that the fries were not crispy. However, overall, it was a great experience. The seats were comfortable. It wasn't too crowded or noisy. The service was quick, friendly, and professional throughout. Our water glasses were always filled and servers often checked in on us to make sure everything was great. I am not at all surprised to see only 4- and 5-star reviews so far. There is a dance floor and performance space upstairs that wasn't open today, but I can't wait to come back to see what that side of this establishment is like! Perfect combination of tasty food and amazing art. Last night I took my friend for her birthday to this restaurant/bar/museum without really reading anything about and I loved it. We shared mussels which were super fresh, I was actually thinking about ordering a second round :D. Shrimp pasta was the winner, pasta was on point as well as the souce. Portions were good, not too much not too little. Dessert took me back to my roots (Colombia) we have something called "suspiros" and I think is called in other parts of the world meringue pretty good stuff. I can feel food was cooked with passion so cheers for that! OMG take a look at the art around, there is a world inside every piece in this place. Really fun place in a hidden area! Cool, funky interior. I got the hipster vibe from the random portraits on the wall- including glittery naked women- and the array of artsy pendant lights hanging over the bar. My fav had fringe on the bottom. The staffs' random choices of polo shirts (the guys at least- the girls looked sophisticated) was interesting! The atmosphere is dark and the bar has red lights on it- works well with the overall vibe. I ordered a couple Scorpio cocktails. They are REALLY good. For food, I had the mixed green salad and grilled head-on shrimp. The salad was good, but there was WAY too much dressing on it. Def getting that on the side next time. I enjoyed the shrimp app. The avocado pure is unique! I found the large pieces of bacon to be overbearing though. I'd def come back here with friends for more drinks and food! read more
