I pushed it a little further than I should have, and ran out of fuel about 2 miles from the nearest gas station in Redding. After a local towing service denied my AAA and tried to charge me nearly $250 for a 2-mile tow to the gas station, I was left stranded on the shoulder of the northbound I-5. I called this shop and told them what happened, and without any hesitation the owner himself came to meet me with a 5-gallon can of diesel. Not only did he get fuel in my tank, help me prime the fuel filter, and get the air out of the fuel lines right there on the side of the freeway - he also made sure to elaborate on WHY this happens with my particular vehicle, explaining the nature of the issue and how it's a common problem with older diesel Fords. He then said he wanted me to come by the shop so they could give the vehicle a once-over. They replaced an air filter in less than 20 minutes (only delay was waiting for the part to get delivered over), and even found some replacement bolts for the interior engine compartment cover that I had been missing for years. All of this combined, including the roadside service, was less than what that despicable towing company wanted to charge me. I'm tempted to drive up from Los Angeles more often, simply to get service of this quality. Many thanks!

Let me share you my story…read more We were on a road trip from the SF Bay Area to Seattle and back. That's about 2000 miles (probably more including the side trips). Needless to say, I had our diesel BMW X5 checked before leaving the Bay Area. When we got to Redding, CA, the dreaded check engine light (CEL) came on. So, we were frantic not knowing what was wrong with our car. Also, we had no idea what shop to go to. Can we find somebody knowledgeable and with the right equipment to work on a diesel X5? Can we find somebody honest enough who'll tell us exactly what's wrong and not charge us an arm and a leg? The universe must have been on our side because we found Steven, the manager (or owner) of Angelo's Classic Import. With Steven, all our fears were gone. They have a very updated shop with all the equipment needed to diagnose our car's problems. We found a very honest person in Steven who charged us honestly. (Turned out the issue was minor and he charged us only $20!) How I wish his shop is in the Bay Area because I would drive the whole length of the Bay Area just to have the privilege of me becoming his client for life! Try his shop and I'm sure you'll experience the same type of excellent Customer Service as I did! Thank you Steven for your service!

I bought very expensive aftermarket bulbs but discovered the front bumper must be removed to change the light housing which I also wanted to replace. I saw this body shop had high stars on Yelp so I called to ask if they would perform the work. Their immediate response was "no" and "we don't do that kind of work and only install OEM components." I kindly asked " do you recommend anyone else that will do this work for me?". Immediate "nope, you'll just have to call around" They were about as helpful as a broken fence post and could care less in my opinion. My next phone call was to Underhood Automotive. Immediately helpful and professional. Chris said they do this kind of work all the time and install DOT legal headlights on older Shasta County Search and Rescue vehicles. Every single question I asked was answered. I live 4 hours away from Redding so coordinating this was somewhat of a Challenge. Chris even told me my mom's car had loud squeeking brakes and he would inspect those as well. Strong Automotive has high stars so I'm guessing their body work is pretty good but customer service is also very important and in this department, they have a long way to go.

My wife and I broke down in our Subaru with a locked up engine while road tripping for a job opportunity. The head mechanic Will said he had time for us that same day and looked at the car right away. As this is a true blue Mom and Pop shop, Mom (Dana) was so kind as to give us a ride to rent a car so we could continue our journey. This was already more than we could expect for our situation. Will kept us updated with every step of his diagnostics and repairs and when the damage to the vehicle was too much for us he worked out a way that we would not have to scrap the car even though the engine was in very bad shape. About 2 hours before we arrived at the oil change center in which by the way we had no plans to get our oil change. We were heading down market street on our way to play a wiggle ball game and when we reached market and twin view light I noticed a little kitten in the center divide section. I stoped and put my hazard lights on and got out soon after that then the kitten ran under the car under the engine compartment. We pulled over alone with a good samaratin to try and get the kitten out of the engine area. After 10 minutes or so we didn't succeed so I had no choice but to carry on to wiffle ball. We were playing for about hour and half. After the game we looked in the engine compartment area and the kitten was still there. Tried again to get the kitten out with the help of 5 or 6 friends and again...... not happening. So I figured I needed an oil change anyway so headed to premier hoping they could help. As we pulled in the asked of course are you here for an oil change and I said yes but I'm also here to see if you can get a kitten out of the top engine compartment. With our hesitation 2 workers took about 4 minutes till they got to the kitten. They took the kitten out and said they will call animal rescue. Those 2 were very polite and were willing to go the extra mile for just a little kitten that was scared very much. This was a black kitten I would hope someone who reads this will adopt.
