This bar was hard to find. It's located on a steep street and you have to walk down the stairs…read morethrough a short alley to find the entrance. A bit of a speak easy vibe. The inside is very cozy with the bar as the center. I read the menu is seasonal and completely changes. My guess is what we had in December 2025 is no longer on the menu. The two cocktails we had was very unique with unusual ingredients. I think it was called Like-Minded Creatures and Paradox. Somehow the unusual ingredients came together very nicely. They do not skim on the liquor. I had a good buzz after one drink. In case you're wondering, they do not serve food. Just snacks/chips. Our server was wonderful. She didn't hover, but came to our table as soon as we make eye contact. I recommend this cocktail spot. We had a good time. Not fit for large/big groups. Perfect for 2-4 friends.

The Old Man definitely has a cool concept. The Hemingway-inspired theme is creative, the cocktails…read moreare unique, and the bartenders clearly put a lot of thought into both the drinks and presentation. The atmosphere is intimate and fun, making it easy to see why this bar has earned such a strong reputation. Every drink felt like an experience rather than just a cocktail. That said, I was surprised by how aggressively the staff pushed for an additional tip after already adding a service charge to the bill. It felt out of place, especially in Hong Kong where that is generally not the expectation. It honestly felt more like something I would expect in the United States. Overall, the drinks and concept were excellent, but the awkward tipping interaction took away from an otherwise great experience.

Luckily, even though my friends wanted to meet at 9:30 nobody fell asleep and we were able to go out. I keep a lot of places I want to try bookmarked and this was our first stop. Cover is 200 HKD and includes a drink so pretty expensive but for travelers it is a nice spot for live music, drinks, singing along, and dancing. It ended up being so good we came twice and everyone loved it. The cons are it gets extremely crowded, especially near the band and singer. The lame thing is a lot of the people up there were gatekeeping the area for their large group and not really contributing to the fun vibes. They seemed more interested in photos and video to look like they were having fun but that didn't stop us from turning up and lighting the place on fire. They do have "private rooms" in what looks like an old oven and though the table is expensive it includes 2 bottles and ended up not being so bad.

The drinks were okay but the nightclub music and vibes were so good. They were playing 90's r&b hits and the transitions between songs were just the right amount of time. All you needed to do was order one drink to get into the club and it was pretty easy to get in (during a national holiday at least). Unsure if additional crowds during non holiday time would be worth.

Falling in love in Hong Kong will always play back in NEON RED for me. Fade in Ping Pong 129…read moreGintonería. One of my favorite bars in the world. Also locally known as Ping Pong City. It used to be a store selling ping pong stuff back in the 60s when ping pong was a big deal in Hong Kong. You will find it in the Sai Ying Pun neighborhood, beyond a red door, down a long flight of stairs, encased in exposed concrete, bathed in neon red light. I won't post a photo of the street door. It shouldn't be hard to find and you should want the adventure. We walked, but it's right at a taxi drop off. Delicious and cleverly crafted beverages, but especially or only if you enjoy gin, specifically gin & tonics. That's the menu: all G&Ts. Lots of Spanish gin. It's a Spanish influenced gin bar after all. Spanish tapas also to seal the theme. Fantastic service and music choices. This must be underground magic. Dreamy cement bunker city romance if it ever were a thing. It gets crowded and full with locals and expats alike and you might be told to come back another time. Do it, enjoy the scenes and trendy girls exemplifying HK's nightlife. Te amo!

It can feel spacious yet crowded at the same time. Although I'm not an expert on gin, I decided to go for the classic gin & tonic (Half Crown). I wish they had more seasonal flavors in their menu, maybe like a summery peach, lychee twist, or mangosteen punch, just something besides the classic citrus-flavor profiles. It was a solid G&T, but a bit pricy for HK$130. A few friends in the group ordered some food, but the verdict was just so-so. Someone in my group had accidentally knocked my half-empty glass over, causing it to spill and break into pieces on the floor. The staff were quick to react, clean up and carefully remove any glass residue on the floor.

If you're in Hong Kong and even remotely into craft cocktails, you have to check out QUINARY,…read more easily one of the best bars and well-deserving of its spot on Asia's 50 Best Bars list... Every single drink we tried was absolutely incredible.. So unique, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted. You can really tell how much effort and creativity goes into each cocktail... We sat at the bar, which made the experience even better because we got to watch the bartenders in action. They walk you through each drink when they serve it, explaining the ingredients, how to enjoy it, and the inspiration behind it. It felt like more than just drinks.. it was an experience... The bartenders were super friendly, and several of them spoke English, which made everything easy and comfortable. The ambiance is exactly what you'd want: dim, chill, and upscale with a cool, laid-back crowd... It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends or wind down for the night.. They also serve food, which we didn't order at the time: but honestly, I regretted it later because everything coming out looked amazing (and I was definitely starving by the end of the night)... I genuinely can't even pick a favorite drink because they were all that good, each one completely different and memorable in its own way. 5 stars all the way. If you're visiting Hong Kong, this spot is a must...
